Not really the wedding itself, but the preparations behind it. One thing I missed during my wedding was having a bridal shower. Before I planned my wedding, I went to six bridal showers where preparations were last minute and gasp!, nobody wanting to host the party. Blame it on the traditional outlook a Filipina has for bridal showers being kinky and naughty. So I told everyone I didn’t want one. Which was quite true, because for one, I do not want to pressure a friend to give me one, and two, being the perfectionist that I am, I dont want to criticize a party given in honor of me!
But if I were the one who planned a bridal shower for a friend, that would be another story. If I had the money, I will make it a shower to remember. Since I planned my whole wedding 98% online, I’d look for bridal shower invitations online for inspiration. I want unique bridal shower invitations, so I’m thinking I would go for something like this when I will host a shower for a bag-a-holic friend, and our theme would be bags, of course! The gifts would all be bags – luggage, purses, diaper bags even! Wouldn’t that be fun?! I would really invest on getting the best bridal shower invitation since it sets the mood of the whole party. I spent a long time deciding on my wedding invites because I wanted them to be unique and funky and just represent me and Edil, and I succeeded. Now if I had my bridal shower, and I would choose to set up everything – I would choose either the bag theme bridal shower or a spa theme bridal shower. The Spa Theme would have cherry rose towelletes wrapped in pink wrapping paper tied with a brown ribbon. Inside the towellette, there would a little wrapped up note, stating my bridal shower invite, and that they should bring gifts related to spas: terry cloth robes, spa salts, Yankee candles, aromatherapy oils, massage balls, etc.
Maybe I should just go ahead with people’s suggestion that I become a wedding planner. Or a conceptual consultant, if there is one. I have so many ideas about weddings!
