Asian Celebrities.

I have always loved to follow Hollywood’s gossip through HollywoodRag.Com. It is just something about paparazzi shots of celebrities in Hollywood that enthralls me — and helps keep me out of boredom in the office. Now that Korean telenovelas are making its way to the country, I cant help but discover Asian hotties as well. Asia celebrity and entertainment is becoming mainstream and being recognized in the Philippines. I have a few favorites as well!

And Im off.

To enjoy three days of no work, finally. I havent taken a leave in three months! Well, the three days arent technically leaves since I swapped workdays with an officemate and Ill have one rest day next week. But then, Im looking forward to this — sleeping in until 7AM (hopefully even 8, if Martha doesnt wake up), cleaning our room, making meals, and doing so digiscrapping.
I have so many photos to process. I think this is the first time I was able to get 4GB worth of photos in a month, LOL.

Have fun, Ill be scarce ;)

Ruffa in Turkey.

I read the Preview Magazine today with the Ruffa Gutierrez, Dawn Zulueta, Gretchen Barreto and Angel Aquino on the front cover. I wonder how Ruffa has adjusted living in Turkey and acquiring Turkish property and being an established fashion icon in Turkey. She has been jetsetting around the world with two of her kids always with her and can still keep her glamorous self. She said in her interviews she has grown to love Turkey and has adapted to their lifestyle. Being married to one Turkey’s business icons, she has several properties I’m sure. I wonder how Turkey looks like. I bet it is one beautiful place.

I miss wedding planning.

Not really the wedding itself, but the preparations behind it. One thing I missed during my wedding was having a bridal shower. Before I planned my wedding, I went to six bridal showers where preparations were last minute and gasp!, nobody wanting to host the party. Blame it on the traditional outlook a Filipina has for bridal showers being kinky and naughty. So I told everyone I didn’t want one. Which was quite true, because for one, I do not want to pressure a friend to give me one, and two, being the perfectionist that I am, I dont want to criticize a party given in honor of me!

But if I were the one who planned a bridal shower for a friend, that would be another story. If I had the money, I will make it a shower to remember. Since I planned my whole wedding 98% online, I’d look for bridal shower invitations online for inspiration. I want unique bridal shower invitations, so I’m thinking I would go for something like this when I will host a shower for a bag-a-holic friend, and our theme would be bags, of course! The gifts would all be bags – luggage, purses, diaper bags even! Wouldn’t that be fun?! I would really invest on getting the best bridal shower invitation since it sets the mood of the whole party. I spent a long time deciding on my wedding invites because I wanted them to be unique and funky and just represent me and Edil, and I succeeded. Now if I had my bridal shower, and I would choose to set up everything – I would choose either the bag theme bridal shower or a spa theme bridal shower. The Spa Theme would have cherry rose towelletes wrapped in pink wrapping paper tied with a brown ribbon. Inside the towellette, there would a little wrapped up note, stating my bridal shower invite, and that they should bring gifts related to spas: terry cloth robes, spa salts, Yankee candles, aromatherapy oils, massage balls, etc.

Maybe I should just go ahead with people’s suggestion that I become a wedding planner. Or a conceptual consultant, if there is one. I have so many ideas about weddings!

That’s it, the Holiday Season is over.

Well, for us at least :)

We finally went to watch the sea lions and dolphins show at Aquatorium last night. So tiring but Matthew enjoyed a lot so it was worth it. It was our first time to see and go to Mall of Asia and we didnt have the chance to cover even 1/8th of it! So big!

Matthew starts classes this Thursday and without any househelp, again, it’s going to be crunch time for me and Edil again.

Goal 2: Dream BIG.

One of main goals in this lifetime would be to migrate to the United States. It is not something we would think of in the long term – as in forever – but we would like to have our kids the option to choose where to settle down and explore their wings. Me and Edil will still probably settle down back to the Philippines when we retire but I am sure we will be spending most of our working years there. I used to be adamant to the option of migrating only on the West Coast – specifically, California, because that is where almost all my relatives live. But after much thought, I think for starters, for us to be able to better explore the oppurtunities of working there as a nurse would give, I would accept the job that would offer the best regardless of state they assign me to. I have been surfing a lot on real estate homes the different states offer and I’ve keyed in into Boise real estate, the houses are the ones that me and Edil would love and dream to have. Edil specifically wants the houses over at Meridian, while I am drawn to the simple quiet life the neighborhood has to offer.

Goal 1: Lose Weight.

That’s my utmost goal for this year. Not really lose weight but get back into shape. I ve lost my momentum before the Holidays. The season had me eat so many sweets I know Im on sugar overload.

I also know that with my busy schedule, exercise would be close to impossible. So Im going to detoxift myself first – get rid of sugar and caffeine, and let’s see where that would take me!

Goals.

So the Holidays are gone.

New Year, new plans, new hopes, new dreams.
I, for one, am honestly all burned out. The holidays are insanely busy for us family – family gatherings, reunions, parties, carnival and show trips for Matthew, etc. I need to work, still, so you can guess Im running on low today. Next year, I mean, this year, I really resolve NOT to work on Christmas and New Year’s. You should have seen me and Edil last night – doggone tired.

Anyhow, me and Edil are also planning some family goals this year. Not overly big plans, just a few improvement plans and little detours we need to take our goals. One of them is to really keep track where our money is going. We dont earn much, it is enough, barely sometimes, to sustain our family of four, but there our time when we hit a really good financial windfall and we end up wondering where all of that money went. I, for one, am not really a good accountant. I am only now learning to handle money wisely. I know if ever I’d get to have my own business, I would definitely have Bookkeeping Quickbooks as a requirement and must have. They have pretty inexpensive rates (I can cancel, no long term contracts, which is pretty good because I can have a look see and feel of their system and develop my own style) and effective keeping system.
