I have the colds - it may as well lead to the flu, but I hope it doesnt go down there.
I have allergic rhinitis, and with changing seasons, I always almost have an attack.
(Allergic rhinitis is an inflammation of the nasal passages, usually associated with watery nasal discharge and itching of the nose and eyes.)

Basically, the only way to prevent an attack is to get rid of allergens, which is almost always dust. We can also get an allergy test to determine everything, but I will most likely get Matthew to an allergologist.

Five days until payday. We dont have that much money to go around anymore! I have with me enough money for transportation to the office. No more, no less. Martha woke up yesterday with her left eye swollen.
I immediately knew the culprit - the pesky cockroach! I was so MAD!! It didnt hurt since she was not really minding it. So I put hot compress on it. My only problem is how to keep her from scratching it when it itches. I dont want it infected.
It might be because of the milk. I was so sleepy the other night that I didnt get to close her bottle properly. It might lured the cockroach to get into bed. Our bed is on a platform. We got rid of the “feet” ever since we had Martha. Think zen beds. That’s how our bed looks like.
So after I get to have Martha’s eye treated, Im going to whisk her off to Amadeo and Im going to spray the whole house with insecticide!!!

Cockroaches have been reported to bite humans, but their bite generally is harmless. Continued repeated exposure to their remains and feces poses a greater health threat, such as increased incidence of asthma, especially in inner cities, and their remains and feces are possible vectors for transmission of viral and bacterial diseases.
Earwigs generally are harmless insects that have earned an unpleasant reputation. This may be because of their depiction in popular culture, such as in the television series, “The Night Gallery.” Although they appear to have a large pincer on the posterior abdomen, it is not capable of rendering anything more serious than a mild pinch. Additionally, and contrary to popular belief, they do not routinely enter human ear canals and parasitize humans. Cockroaches are much more likely to be found lodged in a patient’s auditory passage.
Pathophysiology: Mouthparts of biting insects can be classified into 3 broad groups: piercing and/or sucking, sponging, and biting and/or chewing. Tremendous diversity exists in the morphology of these groups. Insects discussed in this article generally are nonvenomous, yet many species inject saliva while biting. Their saliva may aid in digestion, inhibit coagulation, increase blood flow to the bite, or anesthetize the bite locus. Most lesions are the result of the victim’s immune response to these insect secretions. In the case of Chagas disease, the infective organism is transmitted via the feces of a reduviid bug, which enters through the bite site when the wound becomes pruritic and is scratched.
Other than horsefly bites, most insect bites are minor puncture wounds to the skin. Horseflies feed with a large scissorlike proboscis that can cause a relatively deep and painful wound.
Anaphylactic reactions may occur among atopic individuals bitten by an insect or other arthropod to which they have developed an allergy. Allergy also may develop in response to exposure to arthropod body parts or waste products. Refer to Anaphylaxis for treatment of this response.

It’s only the 22nd and it is still 8 days before payday and our cash is running out. We still need one week of food, groceries, and Martha’s milk and diapers. It is a good thing I have stored some money in case of emergencies. Most of my officemates though, especially those who really have had an emergency (like kids being hospitalized), apply for payday loans for quicker processing and easier payment schemes. It works for them. It is an advantage if you really do not need that much of a big amount and if you can pay from your paycheck. Most employees do this when they run out of cash days before the scheduled pay days of their company. I am thankful that my company looks out for their employees. We have tie ups for payday loans, even bigger waived fees and interest rates for financing loans (car, house, educational), and we have the platinum card in health care. One of the reasons I can’t live the company (for now).

A mom from a mommy board/forum I frequent asked for feedback about the Rainbow Vacuum. It claims to be a very efficient cleaning system that it can even suck in very microscopic dust mites. There were a few mommies who swore by it - even by going as far as telling that their kids got better and had no asthma attacks after using the vacuum to clean the house, beds and even curtains. However, it is extremely expensive, almost 130K pesos! You can schedule a cleaning session, like general cleaning, with their employees for 5,000 only. I might try it. Who knows?

It’s Halloween soon! My kids always dress up during Halloween so Im planning their costumes already.

Also, Im planning to go all out with Christmas planning - but not splurging! I need cheap but very nice Christmas ideas that can involve my son in the process. *sigh* Christmas is my most favorite season of the year!
OK, Im a bit off topic already, LOL.
Anyway, I am 60% decided on a pirate costume already. I hope we can get very nice pictures!

When I was a teenager, I have to admit I had such a love-hate relationship with my Mom. Looking back, I realize if I befriended my Mom, things would have been easier for me. Many teenagers feel the same hate or rebellion I went through before so I cant help but relate to this teen help blog I stumbled upon. It is a valuable reference blog which has articles on troubled teens, boarding school reports and other things parents should know.

I am at a loss. I need to come up with a good and effective organizational system for our family. All the things we need seem to disappear when we need them and all the things we buy end up not getting used. I dont believe we cannot organize our house even if it is small. I guess I really need to throw away stuff I have not used in a year or two. We are slowly decongesting our home in preparation for our move. I just need nice and effective storage bins for the kids’ toys and school stuff.
Any suggestions?
I have been Kaboodling a lot these days. I will try to share them later.
