Finally had some “me” time last Friday when I went to Mall of Asia to meet up with friends Kathy, Joy and Litzie. We were supposed to be eight (and more) but family emergencies, work, and other plans made it impossible for others to come.

I remember the times when I was still single and I could spend the whole day talking with friends. I felt that that last Friday and it did me well – gave me more patience in dealing with the kids, made my husband happy (hahaha) because I was happy, and well, it was just good for my general being. I was not the mommy, the wife, or even the blogger who needs to work. I was just Aggie who wanted to talk (and listen).

I also tasted some great food – Starbucks’ new coffee blend, delicious lunch at Tokyo Cafe and yummeeeee crepes at Cafe Breton. I’m the only one in need of Lipofuze here as you can see, the rest of them are super skinny already (and yet eat as much as me!)

Hello Thursday!

It took me this long to get the weekend out from my system. We went to Manila for the weekend to attend the birthday party of a niece and spent the night at the my in-law’s place. It was great catching up with my sisters-in-law and the kids had fun playing with their cousins (and their toys). It was really a weekend spent overeating (my sister-in-law is now into baking and she baked the most most most delicious pound cake (with cream cheese) I’ve ever tasted. Add to that was my other sister-in-law made me realize Nescafe Iced coffee (with ice cubes really) was delicious was icing on the cake – what a great combination! (Cheap too!) Now I need an effective fat burner to help me burn all these off, considering I have been doing nothing but sit all day in front of my computer!

It was also great catching up with friends my sister-in-law invited after the party and we had a few drinks. I think drinking is not really for me anymore since it took me two days to get over drinking one cocktail Seriously, we went straight home on Monday morning around 4AM because we knew we would be sleeping all day and all of us are still on reversed body clocks.

And the much awaited part: swimming of the kids

Gosh, there were so many pictures here – mostly of Martha though. Matthew was always nowhere to be found (hay naku, more on that later) and well, Edil and I talked, and we really should adjust to our big boy – he is turning 9 this year and is clearly asserting his independence.

Anyway, let the pictures do the talking:

1. Martha was drinking water from the pool like an elephant. Yes, spitting it out like an elephant too. It was a good thing that she wasn’t acting out like a lion or a dog that day, her two other favorite animals or else she will be so loud . She has taken to liking dogs though and if not for dog-training and expensive dog supplies, I would have given in and brought myself my third kid, a puppy

2. Her first swimming partner was Austin, Apple’s son. We had them near the pool that is just directly in front of where we sat (tamad mag-tingin ang mga mommies eh). And even if they were not talking, they seem to be enjoying each other’s company. Pareho silang liliphant eh

3. Edil knew he was the one who will go swimming with the kids. But I guess the lure of beer with kwento sessions with fellow daddies was better. He stayed in the pool for maybe a total of 30 minutes. I’m super glad though the my kids are very independent and do not need close supervision (and that the kids’ pool was really very mababaw). Martha was even running from one pool to another. Matthew was always with the other kids with other dads Making kulit.

4. I was looking for pictures of Matthew and found almost none (even at other’s pictures at Flickr)

Eto lang, a shot I took when I panicked because he was nowhere to be seen that I walked around under the heat! Hahaha (I never do that unless I absolutely have to). Un pala, nasa bridge! Nagiimagine!

He enjoyed thoroughly though, kaso super bitin sya. He wanted to go fishing but we were dead tired already (Martha was even sleeping na) and go ride the cable cars. Good thing he was able to join other families in the cable car. Sayang dapat pala sumama ako.

In fact, on the way home, I asked him, “Are you happy?”, “Not really”, he said. Why? Kasi madami pa ako gusto gawin eh. Hehehe.

5. What were we doing? Taking pictures of course!

(Ang sipag ko magpicture that day ha, in fairness! Hehehe)

6. Most of the kids just swam and swam while the mommies took pictures, made little chikka and ate (like me). The fruit plan was oh-la-la I tell you. Yung fruits kasi super fresh and crispy pa!

7. After swimming, most went fishing. We stayed behind. After the fishing, there was one last picture-taking, this time of the kids. It was a riot!!

Martha was sleeping already by this time.

Ganito ka-dead tired si Martha (at si Edil).

After the swimming, the daddies had some plans to drink somewhere else. We went home first (bad move because Martha threw such a tantrum, it had me and Edil throwing temper tantrums na rin. We were all so tired I didn’t want to go anymore but I decided pagbigyan na lang ang asawa ko, tutal, mas pagod naman sya talaga sa akin!).

We ate dinner at Max’s and stayed at Joy’s hotel room (naks! hahaha!) while the daddies drank beer at Cafe Lupe. By then I was too tired na talaga. Wala na sa mood!

We went to the Country ClubHouse for lunch and swimming and I was pleasantly surprised that they arranged a surprise birthday cake for Martha and Peachy. Martha and Peachy had their birthdays a week before, May 9 and 10, respectively. There were balloons even (And lootbags, stickers and pencils – thank you! Enjoy ang mga kids! Too bad there weren’t anything for the moms – vinyl bustiers anyone?! ) Akala ko talaga part lang ng arte flair un ni Jacqui para talagang party
