I have been putting off writing this for months now simply because I want to write one post for each of them. But what the heck, the months are passing by and before I know it, I have forgotten what they are doing right now.

Lemme see here are the latest from the kids:

Matthew

  • He is graduated from playing Cabal and has a new interest: Age of Mythology. The catch here is the game is installed in my laptop so I need to make room for his playtime or else a tantrum will break loose.
  • We had some major fights the past month lately resulting to me crying because of anger, frustration, disappointment and plain old inis. I realized Matthew knows he can get away with things with me because eventhough I scream a lot and even make palo, I change my mind often on certain rules and how I “punish” them (like I tell him no computer time for a week but he can get on the computer after my anger subsides). One major fight, I put my foot down and told him my punishment and so far he hasnt tested my limits yet. Here’s hoping. It hasnt even been two weeks already since I put my foot down :)
  • I can now entrust to him certain chores in the house like fixing the bed and setting the table. I know – so late. My kids are spoiled with regards to domesticity. Matthew is like a snake when he comes home, he sheds clothes everywhere he goes.
  • He is pleading for cable TV. If you are exposed to Dora and Barney ALL day, you would understand him. Im still hoping I can get the extra moolah.
  • Some interesting story about school (Ive twitted about this already): Matthew came home one day telling me his principal told them not to go trick-or-treating. Para lang daw un sa mga hindi naniniwala sa Diyos. I was so livid! Matthew has a tendency (well, actually he is) to believe and follow blindly especially if a teacher has told them something. He was so torn because I told him Halloween had some demonic history but it doesnt mean if you celebrate it now it makes you one, as long as you dont do rituals, etc. End of story: Wala din kami nagawa. He told me he would go trick or treating next year though. Me pasok kasi sila ng Friday (hed rather go to school than go trick or treating – how sad no? LOL)
  • I think I have mentioned in passing how Im suffering from insomnia the past 2 months already. During weekends I get courageous to sleep in because I know there would be no school. Matthew eats by himself and just wakes me up when it’s time for me to cook or if Martha wakes up na :)
  • He still says I love you Mommy before he goes to sleep
  • He never fails to say his graces before and after meals.
  • He doesnt like to brush his teeth! Hahaha.
  • One story: We went to the mall one time and he was asking too much stuff like books, toys etc. I snapped at him because I got irritated and told him, “Sige magtratrabaho na lang uli si Mommy, maiwan uli kayo sa yaya gusto mo?” he replied instantly, “Ayaw.” And he shut up after.

At least me konsuelo ang pagiging stay at home mom ko :) I dont know if I can stay home by next year as I really want to study again. Haaaaay sana me mirakulong mangyari. LOL.

Martha coming up next.

As of 7:12AM today, she is still sleeping. She threw up last night and it is almost always a sure sign she is going to be down with something.
Otherwise, by 8AM on a usual day, she is going to be up and about and either smiling and in a good mood (about two out of the 7 days) or shouting like the one you see in the picture, demanding I turn on the BBB (DVD) and play Imba (Simba from the Lion King).

The picture is not her at her finest, but is just soooo her lately. Aling Martha talaga. Do you know she even bosses me around?

1. She is totally potty trained, save for a pamper at night (she still dedes too much at night so she still wee wees). The minute she wakes up, the pamper must come off because she wants to wee wee in the toilet. After that, she *must* wash her hands or put on hand sanitizer or alcohol. (Taught by the Lola). The first time I forgot, she was livid. “Mommy, yaaaak o, look, yaaaak, ‘ean hands Ma-tha Mommy!” The problem is washing hands takes a lot of time. We spend 15 minutes on the toilet alone after she wakes up.

2. She has graduated from Elmo and Barney for now. She loves watching Disney movies. She first fell in love with Toy Story 1 and 2, and progressed to Bambi, Nemo, Kung Fu Panda, CHicken Little and now, Lion King. Notice there are no girl movies. All these are from Mato’s collection.

3. But nothing beats High School Musical 2. I swear you will laugh out loud when you see her dancing to Summer Time and Work This Out. She even sings. She loooooves Sharpei. Hahahaha.

4. I got to buy her Dora and Elmo panties at SM last week. She threw a tantrum when she saw a bag filled with Barbie panties (eh ang panget). Gusto nya un kasi me bag. I gave in. I know. Poor discipline.

5. She loves playing with bubbles, writing on paper, and giving her brother a hard time.

6. She recently got sick (diarrhea) so her cheeks lost its plumpness. Im working overtime to get it back though.

7. She loves looking at the puppies but doesnt like them touching her.

8. Bulol pa din. But I guess she knows over 150 words already.

9. When I tell her it’s time to sleep everynight, she tells me “Mommy, puter ka, bilis, puter” with matching typing gestures pa. Hehehe.

10. Like me, she loves wearing slippers — to anywhere. She is behaved during masses because she gets to sing really loud. LOL

Im not really good at doing my homework these days - I have not been taking pictures of the kids nor anything else that much lately. Too much work (I know I should learn to tread the fine thread between balance and working hard - working enough) that I spend most of my time in front of G. (I dont even tweet or chat that much). Example: I havent even taken a picture of Matthew in his school uniform (Can I hear a collected gasp from mommies who even had video cameras on Day One?! LOL. Sorry, Grade Two na anak ko, parang di na ako ganun kaexcited - hilong hilo pa ako sa antok twing umaga).

So, along with my Aggie Wants to Know and Hi-Lo weekly blog features, Im adding the “Right Now” feature” every week - this would allow me to blog about my kids, myself, the husband, the marriage and just “us” every week. (It is supposed to be all about family but work gets in the way. Besides, I want it to be more structured!).

Anyhow, Im rambling.
Let’s start off with my Moody Dude Prince - Matthew.

First, let me let out a huge sigh. (Yes, I have a penchant for drama, hahaha!)

Matthew started second grade in a new school this schoolyear. It was a co-ed school and guess what? He was voted escort of the class :D Nakakatuwa pa, sabi nya pagdating sa bahay, “Mommy, escort ako! Ano ung escort? Pag me new student, sasabihin ko “Welcome to {Insert Name of School here}!” (Parang linya yan sa Regine movie noh?! LOL). I just had to laugh.

The muse is an Italian girl named Carmela and boy, I think Matthew has a tinge of crush with the girl. They are seatmates and the Carmela is English-speaking - but based from what he is telling me - is kinda bossy and maldita (like me when I was studying - I was such a nightmare to boys I tell you!). She would tease him a lot, which would result to Matthew crying (Yes, he cried. I am afraid my son is not going to be like me in school).

So anyway, Matthew has adjusted to school - he is struggling with Sibika and Filipino though. Most of his grades are not perfect but Im just letting him study at his own pace. He is engrossed in playing Cabal (Hmm, Daddy’s influence) and singing.

Which brings me to another kwento - we decided to enroll Matthew in extra curricular activities in school - Voice and Art lessons (I can hear Glo clap on this news, she has been convincing me for the looongest time, LOL). He had his first session for both lessons Monday and Tuesday and he had a blast. Matthew really can sing - he has tremulo already and can really pick up a tune and he draws really well. So even if it’s added pay, sige na - Id like to expose Matthew to more stuff other than the academics.

We are looking for Taekwando or basketball classes too - sana laging quota si Mommy at Daddy so we can afford it :D

Onto some not so good updates:
