I knew things were going to be better today. I knew it as soon as she saw Teacher Karen and teacher waved at her. SHE WAVED BACK! The Miss Masungit never waves back. She even said Good Morning when I told her to.

Plus – she was sitting with her fellow nursery girls as well.

We didn’t go inside the classroom today and Martha super duper liked it. There was some panicking involved when we were told to leave the lobby. I didn’t say bye I just told the sister nun to hold her hand and turned my back and walked away. The Daddy had to look back and take a peek if she was crying – because the moment the lobby doors closed – OMG, there was so MUCH crying! The kids cried! Surprisingly it was the boys who cried more. We just took pictures around the school while waiting for her and after an hour, she came out with a green balloon (I can bet the teacher asked her what color she liked and she automatically said GREEN).

If I can just zoom in you can see how proud she is of her balloon. She was so hungry and thirsty though that we went to McDonalds after. Her Tuya was there to give moral support – and he knew since the car was fixed we will go somewhere after (It was a good thing he didn’t bring his DS Lite or PSP (playstation 3 is on his wishlist – errr the Dad’s) because we were able to take some very silly pictures of us together. It was a good time to focus only on him while Martha was in class.

She was telling me all sorts of stories in the car. She played Choo Choo train again, and Teacher told a story about an Orange Dog.And then she was great daw at Catch the Ball. I told her, Did you miss me? She answered, “Ahhhh di naman eh, sabi ko sayo pagsabi ko Goodbye Teacher, takbo ako sa outside there you are!” (That’s what I told her every night while I was prepping her for school).

The cincher of the convo was this:
Martha: “Ano gawa mo Ma?”
Mom: “Saan?”

“While wait for me?”
”I take pictures”
”What?”
”I take pictures of the trees in the forest”
”Ahhh….Ganda naman pala eh. Ako dami ko gawa today eh.”

Hehehehe.

She even drew a map of our house towards the school which involves a forest and a bridge. It really was too cute. She drew it last night.

You can see a forest with a bridge (there really is a bridge and a lot of trees going to the school). You see our house with Mommy and Martha holding hands Galing ni Marts. Hehehehe.

Our little girl turned four last May 9,2010, the same day it was Mother’s Day! We had a simple get-together with my family and my siblings’ special someones (S/Os) and my Mom cooked the usual deal. She received little presents as gifts and I had it wrapped in small packages so it would look like she had many presents – kids just want the joy of opening up presents, really. She didn’t receive corsets but a lot of little nothings – sticker books, stamps, pencils, and a bag from her Ninang Glow.

We don’t have a toddler anymore – kinda bittersweet. I remember when she was 2 and I just quit working so I can take care of her. I used to think that I cant wait for her to grow up so I can go back and run after my dreams. And now she is four and I feel like two years are just too short for me to soak her all in. Next year I am sure I won’t be the best person in the world for her, her hero and the No.1 Mom. But for now and until that happens, I’m going to spoil myself with her endless “I want my Mommy” and “Mommy lang” whinings (Yes, I promise, even if I am so busy and she shouts at her Ate Caren when does the no.2 and tells her, “Ayaw ko sayo, si Mom lang!")

Her dress was made two days before the event (my mom opted for a long and simple dress with no bow ties), because I was not sure she would be cooperative and walk. I tried to orient her weeks before the event (Lola insisted her grandchild walk!) but she would sometimes say yes but oftentimes answered no. So I wasn’t optimistic that I will be able to practice being a stage mommy. But she did! She was throwing a tantrum while I was dressing her but she completely turned around and got excited when she saw she was in the presence of other “angels”. It was still too hot, but I was so proud because she walked all throughout the procession, complete with her angel pose (In other words, “feel na feel nya!”. She didn’t finish up until the official picture-taking because she wanted her dede but I can’t help but realize that my little girl is really no longer a baby – I am just baby-ing her to death.

We had a simple and small celebration on the day of her actual birthday with my side of the family. She was decided on a Little Mermaid cake since April when lo and behold, the morning of her birthday she told me she wanted to be Belle while we were in the shower. We got her small things – pencils, sticker books, stamps – which we wrapped in small packages so she can have “many presents”. As expected, she was most delighted with the cheapest gift – Disney stamps. She loved the Disney Princess stickers too.I got her a Dora Coloring book and a story book featuring the Disney Princesses with their horses (she is totally into them and animals). A kid can never have too many books so I am not open to sell used books!
