Finger Lickin’ Good

These were taken after Martha’s entrance exam in Matthew’s school. Matthew, for merienda, ate 1 pc of chicken + rice, a Twister Toasted and mashed potatoes. Martha ate one bucket of fries and finished her potatoes as well. While she was eating she mustve been really hungry as she told me, “Ma, ang sarap talaga!” I could have laughed so loud!

And chicken trivia for you: Matthew loves chicken skin while Martha only eats the chicken white meat. She doesnt like how the skin tastes in her mouth.

@KFC180

My kids are really easy to please, really. They don’t have the notion on what are nice restaurants and rarely demand toys they want (They are more of I see it I want it, but if I dont see it, I forget about it). So whenever they request things, we try to give it to them. Take note my gauge of giving is them asking for it non stop for 6 months or more :) That’s my way of knowing if they realllllllly want it. Case in point: Matthew’s PSP and the kids’ new puppy.

Back to how they eat, whenever we go out, we only go to tried and tested restaurants: Jollibee, McDo, Pizza Hut or KFC. Matthew loves rice (like his Dad) that you wont make him happy if I take him to Pancake House or Cafe Breton (which I always want to go to). I see him getting the same risks his Dad and my father-in-law will have, too much cholesterol. This boy can eat two packs of Lapids chicharon in one sitting, same as the princess. They will need medicines to reduce cholesterol when they get older. (At least they are young now).

Oh well, I just hope my kids don’t have diabetic tendencies like me. Judging from their body structure and their eating preferences, I think they go more after their father’s.

My Babies.

Here are my babies, grown and all. I’ve said before I really want two more kids, because I love a big family. It just equates happiness to me. But as I look back to last year, I realize my children are more than enough for us. I’m not saying we are done, because we can never predict nor see how many children God wants us to have, but I know in my heart, as of now, I need to focus on the two precious blessings that I have. My son is entering his tweens and is needing attention in a different way and my daughter is entering pre-school and it’s going to be a whole new adventure for her. I’m more scared for my youngest because she is a girl, and Edil even wants me to be the one to fetch her to and from school! (Super spoooiiiiiiled). Anyway, more on schooling in the coming posts.

If ever I do become pregnant, I promise (I dont want to promise because I never can really plan these things!) that I will be healthy (read: lose weight) and that I would take prenatal vitamins — as if my OB will let me :)

And now we close October. It has been 4 equally tiring yet fun-filled weekends (with lots of food I would need top weight loss pills – well Ive needed it ever since) of October. We ended October by attending a Halloween party last Saturday. I held off buying their Halloween costumes the last minute because I wasn’t sure if we were going to one or going to a party of my sister-in-law. Edil decided not to go because 1) Typhoon Santi was coming (it knocked off power supply from 3AM to 2PM but it was so cold we didn’t notice) – it knocked out our wooden bamboo fence! and 2) He was not really excited about the traffic going to Manila.

So off we went to SM Friday afternoon to get them their costumes. I think I will buy costumes the last minute all the time because everything was 20% off! Matthew wanted to be a ninja but Edil told him he would look reed thin, so he chose the Indian Boy. Martha wanted to be Cinderella right from the very start. I tried dissuading her because Belle (the gold gown) would look so good on her or Snow White but she would not hear any of it. It was a good thing because she looked absolutely adorable!

Here is my Indian Boy:

And Cinderella:

The two of them:

The two of them being themselves :P

It was such a bummer that Martha got REALLY scared with the monsters – it was an adult party complete with a Chamber of Horrors where you pass through three tunnels which house three monsters – Linda Blair, Lolong Kuba and Tyanak (I think). She warmed up after everyone ate but she didn’t get to join the parade. Sayang kasi she was absolutely adorable – every one was scary she was the only one who was a princess. Matthew was mad though – he told me, “Next year, ako na talaga pipili. Kelangan scary Mom, SCARY!” (Hello, diba bawal yun sabi ni Sister?! :P )

Similar to what happened on 08.08.08, we celebrated this unique calendar year just the three of us.

Picture taken while we were chatting with the Daaed.

Notice Martha was talking. Special mention: We dont have web cam and mic. Si Edil lang me web cam.

Martha, upon seeing the Daeed, screamed, “DAAAEEEED!!!!!” and made waving waving hands. LOL. She quickly got upset because as she said, “Mom, Daed is not making pansin me! DAEEEED! HELLLOW DAEEED!!!” Nakakatawa talaga sya.

After 2 minutes, Martha was angry already:
”Dad no pansin me! Labas ka dyan! HMFT!”
And she hugged the monitor which turned the PC off. Hehehe.

TOTAL Chat time: 3 minutes LOL.
Edil needed to go to work na din.

And you know for once, my kids were actually BROTHER and SISTER for two hours straight – meaning, no cat fights. Thank you Moo-Moos. Kelangan lang pala nilang maging moomoo para magkasundo.

My Kids’ RoughHousing

001 002

003 004

These are just the mild games my kids play whenever they have the rare chance to actually get along well. Of course this only lasts 5 minutes or so until somebody cries or somebody gets pikon and then I hear “MOMMMMMMYYYYY O!!!” closely followed by, “WALA AKONG GINAGAWA!”

Is this a regular occurrence in your household? Please tell me it is so because I thought having an age gap of five years in between kids will keep me more sane. Obviously not. I’m giving this two years until the princess brat reaches 5 and I will appeal my case to the higher authorities! LOL

Grabe, super sarap tumingin sa pictures ng kids, look how mine have grown!
