I have a confession to make.
I am 29 and I still have a hard time fitting in my contact lenses. I have gone through three sets since I was 17, the first one I lost within 24 hours of wearing it. I had good reason – I was devastated with the news of my grandfather dying I cried my eyes, and contact lenses out.
I have dry eyes too. I need to lubricate every now and then with drops if I have contacts on. So I was told to try Acuvue oasys and it worked. Acuvue oasyscontacts has Hydraclear Plus technology. It is patented and improves the moisture retention ability of contacts. Although the original Hydraclear technology was a welcomed improvement by contact lens wearers, the upgraded Plus version provides even more relief for dry eyes.
Here are some tips for those who wear them. Consider it also tips on how to take care of your eyes while wearing contacts.
1. Consult an eye specialist before shifting to contact lenses from eye glasses.
2. Make sure you have a competent eye care practitioner evaluate the fit of your lenses before you wear them, though. Improperly fit soft lenses can cause damage to your eyes!

The medical industry has grown leaps and bounds since the advent of technology. Even the training of medical personnel – nurses, therapists – require several post-graduate seminars and many certifications to be able to work in a specialized environment. For example, hydrocephalus cases twenty years ago had high mortality rates but you can have a effective, quick and successful hydrocephalus treatment without complications these days. Usually hydrocephalus is often associated with newborn babies. It occurs when the delicate balance of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) production and absorption is disrupted, and it builds up in the brain. This build-up of CSF causes the brain to swell and pressure to increase inside the skull, resulting in nerve damage. But it can occur at any stage of life, and typically is seen in older adults. Shunts are usually the course of treatment to relieve pressure.

The #1 online Rx glasses store, Zenni Optical, gets a boost of confidence as they are featured and got a glowing review on an article at Examiner.com. Eric’s Review of Zenni Optical is not only the truth, it also give us a perspective how prescription eyeglasses are ridiculously overpriced these days. The have the Lowest Price Progressive Glasses in the market. And for a husband who loses his glasses from time to time, you can bet we are only going to buy them from Zenni Optical from now on.

I am not really surprised that my kids have big feet, I can safely say that they all got it from their mother. I have size 11 feet and I am also extremely flat-footed. Up to when I was around 9, I was also knock kneed as well. My mom had to buy me the ugliest shoes to correct them.
My son, who is 9, is size 8 (men’s) and my daughter, who is turning 4 in 2 months, wears size 11 (kids’). I foresee that we will be having a hard time finding perfect shoes for them in the years to come. I am already having a hard time even now.
In the coming schoolyear, I would have two kids going to school and I am anticipating a hard time looking the right school shoes for them. I actually look for shoes that are high quality, I don’t care if it’s expensive. My kids will use them to death for 10 months, 5 times a week, 7 hours a day. If it will be last the whole school year, then the expense will be worth it. I also know the importance of having shoes fit perfectly. The feet of our kids can still be moulded into whatever shape you have their feet fit into, so I veer away from pointy shoes. Ankle support and shock absorption soles which are non-slip (I imagine school kids run a lot, even if they are told not to) are also important. Leather school shoes need to be soft and supple too, so that their feet won’t have callouses and corns.
I strongly suggest you use this gauge to measure the size of your kids’ feet, especially if they are babies and are just starting to walk. Your babies need all the support they can get!
And yes, we are only talking about shoe shopping here – we also need to cover books, supplies, uniforms. I feel I have a headache coming!

Coming from a medical background, I sometimes have apprehension about holistic methods of healing, like chiropractic care and acupuncture. But, I would have to admit that it works for a lot of people, so to each his own. It has been a lot helpful for pain relief, most especially.
When you ask which West Des Moines Chiropractic care center is good to take your family to, most residents answer the same center – Hassel Family Chiropractic! They practice family chiropractic care which caters people from all ages. Chiropractic care is a method to maintain good health conditions of the spinal column, discs, related nerves and bone geometry. The fascinating thing is that its done without drugs or surgery. Chiropractors say that it is the art and science of adjusting misaligned joints of the body, especially of the spine!

Last January, my father suffered from a slipped disc and was in a great deal of pain. He refused to be brought to a hospital since, being a doctor himself, he claims to know when it would be serious enough to warrant a trip to the hospital. His back pain was really bad though, that pain relief cannot be sought with pain killers alone. A family friend brought him to an acupuncturist and a chiropractor. It helped him with his pain and he was taught some exercises he can practice to strengthen his torso muscles again. It is very much like the Hassel Family Chiropractic clinic in West Des Moines, Iowa. It is a well-known clinic with a chiropractor who gives pain relief brought about by sciatica, back problems and slipped discs, to name a few.

I am continually amazed how far science and technology has become to what it is today. Before we would have to contend with thick eyeglasses to be able to see. Now, we have contact lenses to make things more convenient and have the chance to be fashionable despite of poor eye sight. These days, with the innovation of laser surgery extending to correct eye problems, it is possible to have the perfect 20/20 vision back.
Laser surgery has been around for years but it has just been slowly gaining acceptance in terms of eye surgery. Not many people have the confidence of entrusting their most precious eyesight to laser technology but with continuous improvement and great feedback (in addition to zero casualties), laser eye surgery has become the new way to get perfect vision. Boston Laser Eye Surgery for one, with Sam Melki MD PhD as its founder, is the leading eye surgery center for Lasik Surgery Boston procedures. Dr. Melki has performed over 6000 procedures to date and even authored two textbooks about laser eye surgery. He is a leading authority in Vision Correction Surgeries.
Their laser vision correction uses state of the art technology which maps out a blueprint of your eyes and then correct it with laser.

I have been out of shape since 2000. That is NINE long years – the first four years I was lucky enough to not feel any effects, at that time, I was still trying to lose weight and be healthy (and I lost 60 pounds back in 2003) but it all came sliding downhill after I got married and had baby # 2.
Now, after more than a year of staying at home, my health is at its worst. My stress levels are always high (because I get to be referree to my kids while I try to work) and my physical activity has been negative! At least when I was working I walked around Makati a lot.
An online friend recently turned out and became conscious of her health – it really is inspiring. She started running at their office’s gym twice a week two months ago and would you believe completed her first marathon last weekend? She even bought special athletic shoes for that. I am so proud of her and I am even inspired to try working out again.
I would need special shoes though because I am flat-footed. There is a type of Adidas shoes that is for flat-footed people – the Adidas Supernova Sequence. I might need to look for discount athletic shoes first though, as I am sure I need to stick to a certain budget.
Anyone care to buy me one?
