If you are like me, you are guilty of having too many pictures with the same pose or having the exact same smile all the time. I say that is the beauty of going digital. Too many times, I snap a pose more than once to make sure Ive got them right but, just like some of you, cant even bear to delete them when I download them into my PC. Oftentimes, Id get teased when I show them to my husband that I have a hundreds of copies of the same shot. So the Image Comparer software would be abig help to me. It is essentially a duplicate image finder that finds or searches a duplicate image or similar pictures and selects the best shot of out of the many shots. It uses a content based image search also known as a content based image retrieval (CBIR). This allows the program to search images by visual similarity. You can search for rotated and flipped images as well.

How does it work? It selects the best image and moves the “duplicate files” into one folder. Then you can decide whether to delete them in one click or not - so easy!

Until G is here! :)

Well, to be exact, 10 days to go until my sister is here but Im more excited to see my G! :) (Sorry ‘tol, nagpapakatotoo lang.) 10 days until I finally have my own lappy top! It comes with its own webcam and Linksys router so I can connect to the Internet - and do network with the home desktop. (Im not even sure what Im talking about here, Edil said all those things when he decided the specs). Nevertheless, if it doesnt work, I still have the LAN card from the last purchase of the second hand laptop for it.

Spring Cleaning

Im going to do a little spring cleaning on my blogs. Trying to optimize it and just have it all more organized. Im trying to take advantage of my T3 connection at work before I leave *sniff sniff*.

Do you have any recommended plugins I can actually make use of? I really want the “related” plugin and favicon Caryl is using but cant make it to work on my blogs. Help anyone? Ill be sending an email to mommy bloggers I know of who I see some cool plugins I can use.

Im on shitty graveyard shift tonight so maybe I can just blog blog blog.

Oh, and on another note, if you need home improvement articles and ideas, stop by the directbuy blog. I swear it has made me itch to spring clean whatever home we will have. Heehee

Unlimited.

Since Edil’s company issued them SUN phones, we decided to get for the two of us as well (so we can give one for Matthew), since we dont have a landline anymore and we anticipate more calls when we move, definitely.

So my trusty (old, phased out) Nokia 1110i will be my back up for my existing number (I love that too much to let it go. Besides, the SUN phone is for SUN users din para tipid). My SUN number is unique too, since the network is still growing, you get to choose the number you want din!

I wanted to have the Samsung E250 but Edil was making pa-cute na sa kanya na lang daw un, so fine. Im sure the slide feature will not be lost on Martha and it will be broken anyways. Plus di talaga ako mahilig sa cellphones. (I reasoned I have the laptop anyways so kanya na yun mwehehehe).

So I got the Nokia2630 in black. I like the sleek design, the radio, the camera is so-so. But at least there are themes! Guess what my theme is?! Heehee.

Nah.
Martha is my wallie but White Love Story is my ring tone and the La La La Love is my message alert :)

Im still compiling pictures of Gong Yoo for my GIF kasi.
(Pinapagawa ko lang lahat yan ke Edil, di ako marunong sa ganyan eh!)

Hindi na jologs cellphone ko :)
Hahahaha!
I think Glo would be so happy to hear that!

G Explained.

I was literally laughing from Jen’s comment on this post. So Litzie asked me to explain about it in a different post. So here I am.

Borrowing from this post:

And this year, she gets Gloria (Yes Mare, she will have your name - I will call her
“G” for short. She will be my lakwatsera since I wont be going anywhere as we will be living simply when I stop working, o diba? Connect lahat!). I hope I wont get Gloria when she’s five years old already though, hahahaha!!!!! (I think that’s the main material goal for me this year).

So here she is:
Dell Inspiron 1525

It’s a Dell Inspiron 1525.

Here are its specs:
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5450 (1.66GHz/667Mhz FSB/2MB cache)
Vista
2GB RAM
120GB HD
CD / DVD Writer (DVD+/-RW Drive)
15.4 Anti glare screen
Webcam, bluetooth, LAN
Intel® 3945 802.11a/g Mini-card
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy

Not that much but I think she will keep me happy for a looong time :)

Domains, Anyone?

It seems that everyone has been taking to the internet and snatching up domain names like pancakes. Blogging is the new way of keeping a diary so everyone is doing it! They even want to have their own and not be hosted on free blogs hence the domain purchases. I currently have five domain names, and Im thinking of adding more! Fast Domain Search is achievable at 10xwhois.com! You can search one domain name in different extensions and it will immediately show up if it is available - if it isnt, you will see the WHOIS directory so you can check who owns it. Domains are really a nice investment if you think about it. If you are able to snatch a unique one, people are willing to pay more than ten times the amount sometimes.

Sweet IM

I dont know how we will survive as a family without communication these days. My parents live two hours aways from us, my sister in the US and my brother and sister are always out. We usually send text messages to each other all the time but with the discovery and subsequent learning of my Dad on how to chat, we were able to save up a lot of money. It’s so sweet to teach my Dad how to send a smiley or put an avatar for his profile! There is actually more! SweetIM is an add-on for instant messengers you can use for webmails, forums, blogs and spaces. It is FREE to use and completely safe. They even guaranteed they do not have pop-ups!! That’s certainly a plus.

It looks like this when you have installed it on your toolbar.

sweet-im.JPG

Again, it is safe - no spyware or adware involved. It will let you use more FUN, COOL, HILARIOUS and totally UNIQUE content emoticons and use Winks, Sound FX, games, glitters and cool nudges.

My Dad wants to learn something new everyday. So yesterday, over chat, I walked him through how to use his own picture for his icon or avatar and walked him through how to use the audibles and smileys. Imagine my Dad who doesnt want to use text spelling to chat because he claims he didnt study half of his life to spell wrongly use devil grin smileys. It was a hoot!

Geeky Speak: Web Stats Tracker.

Im addicted to web statistics. As a paid blogger (and someone who stalks people who stalk her), I want to know where all my hits are coming from.

You better have Google Analytics installed in your blogs - NOW. I know I have told most of you who are into paid blogging to get that code. But wait, there is more. Better actually. Try Get Clicky. You will see who viewed your site, how long, which entry she read, how many times she visited your blog! AMAZING! (So you know I’ll be watching ;))

And then, go ahead and use Simple Tags. You can view the plugins I love here. I personally love the Simple Tags because it tags your entries and makes them more searchable in Technorati! :) My blog has been searched and indexed using “body wave” and “curls” and “wife stories” (Well, come to think of it, this blog is more Mommy Stories than Wife Stories, LOL). This post has more than a few hundred views already.

Optimize your bloggety bloggies :D

Blogging Tip No.1

BACK UP.

Seriously. I would have lost $50.00 today if I didn’t have a back up of my posts. A paid post was migrated during the host transfer and was rejected earlier. Fortunately, I still have a copy of the post in my old host server.

BACK UP.

;)

I hope I get paid today. LOL.

Backing Up Files Online.

As as scrapbooker, storage is very important for me - not only the size but the reliability of that storage NOT to get corrupted. I do two back-ups of my kits and photos everytime I clean my hard drive. I always get a feeling that it isn’t enough though. Online Storage is an option Im considering - through IBackup. With them, you can use their online storage and have that space show up as a drive or folder in your computer. You can set up your account to share with the folder for sharing. Their desktop application is the easy drag-n-drop feature so it is easy especially since they use the familiar explorer interface when you work with your data. You can even access your account using your BlackBerry, or any PDA, and stream music and video files. It also is compatible with MAC computers.

LifeSize Video Conferencing

Businesses going global have one important investment to make - communication and technology. Video Conferencing is one of them. It will allow executives to do meetings and conference with their managers and employees simultaneously in different parts of the globe. LifeSize is a company that delivers superior and high quality products for video communications over IP networks - the hardware and software that go with it too! They offer video, audio, infrastructure, management and accessories for video conferencing - check them out.

Remote PC

I have been telling my Dad to sign up for remote access in Amadeo. The computers in the retreat house can synced-in into a network and remote access will give them secure access to all confidential information as well. My Dad has seen how important and convenient computers and internet are to their organization so he is planning to propose a plan to include it into their budget. Remote PC has plan offerings which start at $4.95 a month with a 30 day trial period which is free. Recent upgrades to their plans include compatibility with the new OS, Windows Vista, and a meeting option with up to 10 users sharing the same desktop. Can you imagine - you will be able to access data, share information, e-mail and pictures (and plans) from anywhere just logging into a browser window. If you think about it, it will let you convert your computer’s hard drive into an online storage system without having to upload your files to a server! Totally cool, huh?

I have so many plans in the works but I have not been working towards any of them for the past two weeks because of some issues that really disheartened and demotivated me. Let’s just say I lost big money - in $$ - and all that was really really hard honest work. BUT, things may seem unfair for now, but it has made me realize all things are temporary, and that one must always be prepared if something like that happens. Most of you do not know but my mom no longer has work, Abbie’s resignation is effective on June 30, and that means major expenses will now be shouldered by me and Edil. We are not earning big to support a household of 9-10 people, with a toddler involved, so there will be major revisions to financial budgeting next month. This month has not been nice, financially speaking, as we would always run out of money a week before payday hits, and that’s when the gas would run out, the kids get sick, or something comes up. Totally not funny. Nakakasakit sa ulo. LOL.

You may ask, “What the hell is she doing now? She should blog more than ever to make money!!”. Yes, I should. But the long term goal here is to write quality posts which would result to a quality blog. I want to expand my readership base and have a target market so Im going to be keeping this blog to mommy and wife entries - parenthood, education, mommy tales, experiences. Of course there are still the posts about ME - and that’s where girl talk comes in.

With this said, Im opening up my blog for a link exchange for mommies and wives (and brides to be). Please leave a comment if you want to get linked and Ill link you up after checking if the link exchange has been done.

Note: Bebots, this will be a new blogroll for me, so if you want to get linked, just leave me a comment. It’s perfectly OK to get linked twice, more the better, since it will help in page rank updates. I *highly* encourage everyone to do this, most especially if you do paid blogging.

And let me know OK? :)
