We went to the Country ClubHouse for lunch and swimming and I was pleasantly surprised that they arranged a surprise birthday cake for Martha and Peachy. Martha and Peachy had their birthdays a week before, May 9 and 10, respectively. There were balloons even
(And lootbags, stickers and pencils – thank you! Enjoy ang mga kids! Too bad there weren’t anything for the moms – vinyl bustiers anyone?!
) Akala ko talaga part lang ng arte flair un ni Jacqui para talagang party
Thank you again MBAPs for remembering.
You can read about what we ate here.

After the animal farm, by 9:45AM, we moved to the Sports Center for the daddies’ basketball game. Jacqui reserved the basketball court for an hour of basketball and Edil was pretty excited to play. He loves to play basketball – his problem is where to play and whom to play it with. That is why he joined the the basketball league in Matthew’s school for daddies and even organized a league in a hospital he covers in.
Anyways, while the Daddies were playing basketball (pasahan bola lang ata eh, hahaha, joke), we Mommies did what we do best – multitask! Random chikahan, picture-taking, and looking after the kids. I was just not chatty because I was preoccupied with the heat (pag mainit talaga nawawala ako sa wisyo – mataba eh!)
A great view captured by Thea:
Ganyan na ganyan kami talaga – patayo tayo, pawalk-walk lang ever
While the Daddies were playing basketball:
* Edil was the one in yellow.
It was a good workout for the daddies really. On second thought, for mommies too, since we were left to run after the kids while they were playing. The best diet pills are truly no match for activity and real good sweating and huffing and puffing
Martha cried twice – because she bumped her head in the railing and then she fell down the bleachers and hit her eye (barely). Good thing she was a trooper as she was playing a good ten minutes right after. Thank you to Olin for sharing her food with Kuya Mato and Martha. Hahaha.
Here are the daddies (super close up no – para di nyo kita ung hingal nila!)
L-R: Jon (Jane); Ico (son of Jacqui); Mike (Thea); Marlon (Mich); Edil; Howell (Abie); Gelo (Peachy); Jojo (Alpha); Mike (Jacqui); Dicky (Jody); Sherwin (Joy); Adrian (Apple); Amiel (Kathy).
We mostly made tambay at the Wii Room, thanks to Mato, because it was cooler there
Matthew was so hungry he kept on asking what time is it yet. I don’t remember which Mom told me their conversation:
”Ilang minutes pa ung basketball?”
”Five minutes na lang.”
”Five minutes, and 24 hours” o “Five minutes, and 3 hours and 5 minutes?” (to think he had spaghetti, cheeseburger and fries as breakfast!!)

OK. I promised myself that I will write about our weekend getaway before it gets too old to even blog about. I looked around fellow mommy blogs and there were a few who blogged about it already. I might actually be the last one who will but I will try to make kwento because we had over 500++ pictures from the weekend! If I will get extremely lucky, I might be able to make a photobook out of this one!
This outing was planned months ago by Jacqui, MBAP’s designated party and event planner. The rates were pretty high, for a day trip, but thankfully, we can pay for it little by little it was not really noticeable.
We also were blessed by good weather that day, even if it was hot (at least no rain!).
————————————————————-
It was going to be a long day. For one thing, Matthew would not sleep because he was either so excited about going swimming or he was scared I wont wake up in time so I had to lie with him on bed to make him sleep. Wrong move! He was still awake by 3AM – the time Martha woke up (she slept at 8:30PM). AND I haven’t even packed yet. So I ended up packing our stuff and some of the things I’m selling at 5AM. Good thing Edil was not a grouch when I woke him at 6:30AM since we were supposed to meet Kathy and Alpha and their families at Jollibee Rotonda (Tagaytay) by 7AM. Kathy was late late late that they were not able to have breakfast anymore (hehehe).
We were on convoy with Alpha’s and Kathy’s cars on the way to the Highlands. Since we knew that our vehicle will not be allowed to enter the premises, we hitched a ride on Kathy’s. It was a good move too because there were a lot of deep and blind curves that our “hummer” would have definitely stopped. The roads are perfect for risk-takers and daredevils who love to ride on their motorcycles too. It’s a good thing the management has motorcycle accident attorneys just in case!
We headed straight to the Animal Farm.
The entrance was only Php110/person, not bad since the animals were clean and the kids can touch and feed them.
Look at her face!
Martha was in heaven – heaven I tell you. Edil got to capture in video her shrieks of joy everytime she sees an animal, “WOW! Mom, look – a tiger!” and the way she runs from one cage to another. She even refers to some of the animals by their Disney character, like, “Mommy, look, si Bambi!”, and “Oh wow Dad, si Pumba!”. Or she will act out their sounds, “WOW Mom, ish a sneyk..SSSSSSSSSSSSS” It was really such a joy to watch I wasn’t minding the heat (and the smell) at all. She got scared by the huge ape though – the “Mommy ni Tarzan” – because it threw a tantrum at us and banged the cage really loudly.
Matthew was reading all the labels on the cages of course. In a few years, Im sure he will find the zoo boring. This used to be his favorite place! He loved looking at the animals but absolutely got scared with the birds. He told me the white one pecked his neck
It was also a good thing that we were with Kathy and Alpha because we had time for picture-taking
I remember I didn’t want to walk to where the ostrich was anymore (it had to go through a little bridge and I was tired and sweaty from walking) – but Martha and the rest went in and voila – we discovered the perfect place for taking our family pictures!
And we now have another Jojo-Alpha family picture
(Thanks Jojo!) Maybe I’ll get lucky again and have this picture in a cover a magazine (this time sana totoong paper magazine!)
My most favorite picture, from the Animal Zoo, was taken by Kathy
Our personalites, specifically Martha, were captured so well. We were trying to get a decent family picture and Martha was more interested in running around with Estong and Olin.
Look at her face, sinasabi nya siguro: “Neknek nyo, di ako lalapit sa inyo!”

There are more pictures and anecdotes in the farm but I will share them in a separate post.

With the sun finally making its appearance more often these days, I am hopeful that we will be having good weather this weekend. Because it will be our family’s first outing trip for the summer (I know – we are already midway into summer vacation and we haven’t had any outings yet, my poor kids!).
We will be going to Tagaytay Highlands this Saturday with fellow mommy bloggers and our families. I really can’t wait to see them again and I am sure my kids will have fun with all the activities available at the place. So far, we have penciled in a trip to the feeding zoo and pony rides with the kids in the morning and a basketball game of the daddies right after. Then we will be eating lunch and afterwards, the kids can swim already!
I just don’t know if my kids, particularly Matthew, can wait that long. It is a good thing we are near the place, knowing our penchant for sleeping late. We plan to eat a heavy breakfast together Kathy and Alpha (and their families) at McDonald’s in Tagaytay around 8AM so we can go there together.
I need to prepare the kids’ things. I’m sure I’d need a big bag for my two kids PLUS the big kid – their daddy. I will not be swimming but I’d need to bring a set of clothes just in case I get wet from looking after the kids. As much as I’d love to be wearing a dress (because I’m sure we would be taking a lot of pictures) like this Guess dress at StyleHive.com, I need to be ready to run after the kids
So pants and a loose top is on the agenda to buy on the next coming days.

We went to Manila last Sunday to attend two parties of online friends’ kids – Asher’s 1st Birthday party, Sophia’s 4th Birthday Party and Mateo’s Christening. The kids had a lot of fun. It was their first time attend parties of that caliber *wink* so they were so amazed. Matthew had a blast joining games (he was so bitin of course). Martha was just content walking and walking and eating ice cream. She was so happy with her loots too. You know my kids, give her ice cream and balloons and she is a happy kid. Give her an ANIMAL balloon and she is in heaven.
Too many pictures!! I feel so lazy to share them here.
We were so tired after. If only there were free hotel rooms we can stay in we would not go home straight to Cavite after the parties. Edil told me I better learn how to drive soon

Forget about me backtracking everything – because Im so behind blogging everything that is happening (I think since April?) – so here is my lame attempt to blog again – let’s see.
Father’s Day was nice, just the usual weekend with cards. The kids got their Dad cards, made individually. Matthew helped Martha draw hearts and he wrote, “I love you Dad.” His card was more touching. It read, “I love you Daddy. Thank you for providing for me and giving me everything. You are the best Dad.” (Naks no, magaling mambola). It was just written in paper but Edil was touched (he should be – he didnt even bother telling the kids to make one for me when it was Mother’s Day!)
Of course there were pictures, and we went green this time (totally coincidental trust me
When Edil saw the kids in green, he changed from a blue shirt into a green one hehehe. Syempre dapat laging color coordinated ang mga anak ko
)

Then we went to the Shrine to greet my Dad, hang out and tell people goodbye (there were people leaving for the US yesterday) — all I can say is, Im so desperately going to pray this Christmas will be a very blessed one.
And a scrapper Mommy needs family pictures all the time. It was a good thing my sister was there and she took pictures
This was one of the many she took that was just awesome:

After the guests left, we went to mass in Tagaytay and then did takeout at Jollibee after buying some milk and coffee from Mercury (milk for the princess coffee for the King).

Life is back to normal for us folks. Exodus, the celebration, is over, but as someone very special said, this is the year for Exodus. Our journey has just began and the desert is very dry, tempting and can be very very tiring (as is life).
But if we are successful, paradise cant be anymore perfect than it already is.
Happy Father’s Day Ama

Tomorrow is Father’s Day.
Here’s to the three fathers I know who have shown the world what fatherhood is about:
Papa: my father-in-law.
He has been the provider for everybody and has always been ready to help in everyway he can. He continues to teach me, by example, that nothing is impossible with hardwork and perseverance.
Daddy: my father.
He is the best father and I say that without bias
He is imperfect, but when it comes to his children – he is really one of a kind. He continues to teach me, by example, that nothing is impossible with faith.
Dad: Edil, my husband.
He does everything for his kids. We may not see eye to eye on so many different things. He may not be the ideal husband, but my kids are blooming and making progress because he balances my straight boring ways
He continues to teach me, by example, that nothing is impossible with love.
And I live you with a quote that best describes the fathers I have known:
“My father didn’t tell me how to live; He lived and let me watch him do it.”

Martha is turning two in two weeks! Wow, there are a lot of two’s there
And Im actually choosing between two options on how to celebrate her birthday. We aren’t going to have a party some place else because we would be near broke with the house move and Matthew transferring schools but because we now have a garage and huge backyard, we can really host a swimming party for the kids! We still have the huge inflatable pool from last year so we need that. Best part of this is since it’s a swimming party, I dont need to cook anything fancy – hotdogs and spaghetti, cake, barbeque and we are all set
I saw this amazing inflatable though. Im sure this can fit in the backyard if we just can move the trees in time

That one is the Slip n’ Dip from Waterworks. Party Rentals is actually a good business if you consider it. Inflatable Party Rentals are hot commodity because they are the life of the party – be it for children’s parties, adult celebrations and even for carnival games! We saw a bounce house inflatable in the mall and the kids were lining up! With the summer happening hotter than ever, Water Slide Party rentals will be something most families would really rent. There is nothing more fun than playing with water in the heat! Better make sure though, that if you rent inflatables, the company has someone who is there all throughout the party to oversee the operations. Plus, they need to be there from the set up to the pack up. Inflatable Adventures has inflatable rentals from adults to children, from corporate events to parties.
