Another typhoon is coming and it is forecasted to be a super typhoon. I am trying to work as much as I can because if forecasts prove to be true (and I pray it isn’t), my net connection might be cut off by tonight.
Stay safe everyone.

Filipinos now need all the help they can get, especially those hit hardest by rampaging tropical storm Ondoy (international code name Ketsana). The storm made landfall today in Luzon, bringing endless rains and spawning huge floods in Metro Manila and many parts of Luzon.

More news about the typhoon that hit Metro Manila and Luzon:
The floods have deluged Metro Manila (population: 11.5 million as of 2007) , stranding thousands of night workers and those who went to school or offices this morning. Major highways have been shut down due to floods and other effects of the typhoon. Operations of Manila’s NAIA terminal have been stopped. Domestic flights have been cancelled.
Floods have reached six feet in some areas. Radio and TV news reports say that more and more people living near La Mesa Dam and Angat Dam, which has said to be overflowed, adversely affecting nearby communities.
No reports yet of casualties but radio and TV news continuously report about knee-deep, waist-high, neck-high, and bus-level floods in many areas.
Here is the initial report from the government’s National Disaster Coordinating Center:
Similar to what happened on 08.08.08, we celebrated this unique calendar year just the three of us.
Picture taken while we were chatting with the Daaed.
Notice Martha was talking. Special mention: We dont have web cam and mic. Si Edil lang me web cam.
Martha, upon seeing the Daeed, screamed, “DAAAEEEED!!!!!” and made waving waving hands. LOL. She quickly got upset because as she said, “Mom, Daed is not making pansin me! DAEEEED! HELLLOW DAEEED!!!” Nakakatawa talaga sya.
After 2 minutes, Martha was angry already:
”Dad no pansin me! Labas ka dyan! HMFT!”
And she hugged the monitor which turned the PC off. Hehehe.
TOTAL Chat time: 3 minutes LOL.
Edil needed to go to work na din.
And you know for once, my kids were actually BROTHER and SISTER for two hours straight – meaning, no cat fights. Thank you Moo-Moos. Kelangan lang pala nilang maging moomoo para magkasundo.
Look:

Mama Mary’s birthday was rainy cold day but thankfully, it didn’t stop us from hearing mass and attending a program for her.
And if you remember Martha’s cake eating post a year ago (Gosh! How time flies!), you wouldn’t be surprised if I told you she insisted that it was HER birthday and that she needs BIRTHDAY CAKE.
She didnt want to believe it’s not her birthday and told me over and over again – it’s my birthday mom! mine!
So when I told her it’s Mama Mary’s birthday, she said, “Happy Birthday Ma Mary!”
What’s your present Marts to Ma Mary?
My birthday mom.
My birthday cake.
You can obviously see how very satisfied and happy she was that everyone finally agreed it was her birthday cake – you see, all she wanted was to blow a candle. and of course, devour a birthday cake. (The birthday cakes were not sliced until later so we had to settle for these cupcakes instead).
And proof that my daughter is like me:

Wow, can you believe it, we are only a few days away from the –ber months! Before you know it, it’s going to be the holidays again (my most favorite part of the year). Like how the song goes – It’s the most wonderful time of the year – it’s going to be extra special this year because there will be a lot of events starting as early as October and people close to our family will be coming home. I’m sure our days will be packed. I really should plan and think ahead of things needed to be done. I may need a few dresses, white dresses for me and the little girl, white polos for the husband and the big brother, maybe a cocktail dress for a formal party.
I think our weekends from October to December will be booked. I just hope we can make it to all the parties because it’s harder with Edil’s current work schedule. I also have been contemplating to take up an offer from a friend for a part-time job (20 hours a week) that will pay as much as I earned from my previous job. It’s really tempting. I just need to discern what would be best for my kids – and I need a maid!!! Please pray I find someone soon. Even if I stay at home, I need someone to help me watch over the kids. I can’t even go to the grocery without taking the kids with me – without Edil at home, it is harder.

And the much awaited part: swimming of the kids
Gosh, there were so many pictures here – mostly of Martha though. Matthew was always nowhere to be found (hay naku, more on that later) and well, Edil and I talked, and we really should adjust to our big boy – he is turning 9 this year and is clearly asserting his independence.
Anyway, let the pictures do the talking:
1. Martha was drinking water from the pool like an elephant. Yes, spitting it out like an elephant too. It was a good thing that she wasn’t acting out like a lion or a dog that day, her two other favorite animals or else she will be so loud
. She has taken to liking dogs though and if not for dog-training and expensive dog supplies, I would have given in and brought myself my third kid, a puppy
2. Her first swimming partner was Austin, Apple’s son. We had them near the pool that is just directly in front of where we sat (tamad mag-tingin ang mga mommies eh). And even if they were not talking, they seem to be enjoying each other’s company. Pareho silang liliphant eh
3. Edil knew he was the one who will go swimming with the kids. But I guess the lure of beer with kwento sessions with fellow daddies was better. He stayed in the pool for maybe a total of 30 minutes. I’m super glad though the my kids are very independent and do not need close supervision (and that the kids’ pool was really very mababaw). Martha was even running from one pool to another. Matthew was always with the other kids with other dads
Making kulit.
**I really like the last two pictures of her – para syang sirena na umaahon sa tubig
LOL
4. I was looking for pictures of Matthew and found almost none (even at other’s pictures at Flickr)
Eto lang, a shot I took when I panicked because he was nowhere to be seen that I walked around under the heat! Hahaha (I never do that unless I absolutely have to). Un pala, nasa bridge! Nagiimagine!
He enjoyed thoroughly though, kaso super bitin sya. He wanted to go fishing but we were dead tired already (Martha was even sleeping na) and go ride the cable cars. Good thing he was able to join other families in the cable car. Sayang dapat pala sumama ako.
In fact, on the way home, I asked him, “Are you happy?”, “Not really”, he said. Why? Kasi madami pa ako gusto gawin eh. Hehehe.
5. What were we doing? Taking pictures of course!
We went to the Country ClubHouse for lunch and swimming and I was pleasantly surprised that they arranged a surprise birthday cake for Martha and Peachy. Martha and Peachy had their birthdays a week before, May 9 and 10, respectively. There were balloons even
(And lootbags, stickers and pencils – thank you! Enjoy ang mga kids! Too bad there weren’t anything for the moms – vinyl bustiers anyone?!
) Akala ko talaga part lang ng arte flair un ni Jacqui para talagang party
Thank you again MBAPs for remembering.
You can read about what we ate here.
