Growing up in a neighborhood near a horse race track, Matthew loved horses. He would often, upon waking up in the morning, sit down our front door looking out and waiting for horses to walk by for their daily morning exercise. Even the caretakers of the horses knew him and would even let him saddle the horse and walk him back and forth. Hence, when the movie Toy Story was shown, he had an affinity with Woody, the cowboy doll. Now that he is almost eight, his love for horses has waned a little but his love for cowboys and the rodeo are still there. That’s why getting him National Finals Rodeo tickets would be a dream come true. He would surely be so excited about it, maybe a little anxious and scared for the cowboys, but Im sure he will be alright. The NFR is organized by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and is a 10 day event hosted usually by Wrangler Jeans. Since Matthew’s birthday is in December and the NFR is held each year in the first full week of December, it will be perfect!!!
Another event that would be awesome is the Cowboy Christmas, which is held simultaneously with the NFR. It is usually held in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
And tip for fans: Since the rodeo uses special dirt, it is stored year after year for re-use.

Forget about me backtracking everything - because Im so behind blogging everything that is happening (I think since April?) - so here is my lame attempt to blog again - let’s see.
Father’s Day was nice, just the usual weekend with cards. The kids got their Dad cards, made individually. Matthew helped Martha draw hearts and he wrote, “I love you Dad.” His card was more touching. It read, “I love you Daddy. Thank you for providing for me and giving me everything. You are the best Dad.” (Naks no, magaling mambola). It was just written in paper but Edil was touched (he should be - he didnt even bother telling the kids to make one for me when it was Mother’s Day!)
Of course there were pictures, and we went green this time (totally coincidental trust me
When Edil saw the kids in green, he changed from a blue shirt into a green one hehehe. Syempre dapat laging color coordinated ang mga anak ko :P)

Then we went to the Shrine to greet my Dad, hang out and tell people goodbye (there were people leaving for the US yesterday) — all I can say is, Im so desperately going to pray this Christmas will be a very blessed one.
And a scrapper Mommy needs family pictures all the time. It was a good thing my sister was there and she took pictures
This was one of the many she took that was just awesome:

After the guests left, we went to mass in Tagaytay and then did takeout at Jollibee after buying some milk and coffee from Mercury (milk for the princess coffee for the King).

Life is back to normal for us folks. Exodus, the celebration, is over, but as someone very special said, this is the year for Exodus. Our journey has just began and the desert is very dry, tempting and can be very very tiring (as is life).
But if we are successful, paradise cant be anymore perfect than it already is.
Happy Father’s Day Ama

Tomorrow is Father’s Day. And I personally would rather shower the fathers I love with care and extra attention than give them material stuff. (It hasnt stopped me from browsing mens gold watches a few days ago - wishful thinking from someone who doesnt have a penny to her name, LOL). Anyway, here’s to the three fathers I know who have shown the world what fatherhood is about:
Papa: my father-in-law.
He has been the provider for everybody and has always been ready to help in everyway he can. He continues to teach me, by example, that nothing is impossible with hardwork and perseverance.
Daddy: my father.
He is the best father and I say that without bias
He is imperfect, but when it comes to his children - he is really one of a kind. He continues to teach me, by example, that nothing is impossible with faith.
Dad: Edil, my husband.
He does everything for his kids. We may not see eye to eye on so many different things. He may not be the ideal husband, but my kids are blooming and making progress because he balances my straight boring ways
He continues to teach me, by example, that nothing is impossible with love.
And I live you with a quote that best describes the fathers I have known:
“My father didn’t tell me how to live; He lived and let me watch him do it.”

Martha is turning two in two weeks! Wow, there are a lot of two’s there
And Im actually choosing between two options on how to celebrate her birthday. We aren’t going to have a party some place else because we would be near broke with the house move and Matthew transferring schools but because we now have a garage and huge backyard, we can really host a swimming party for the kids! We still have the huge inflatable pool from last year so we need that. Best part of this is since it’s a swimming party, I dont need to cook anything fancy - hotdogs and spaghetti, cake, barbeque and we are all set
I saw this amazing inflatable though. Im sure this can fit in the backyard if we just can move the trees in time

That one is the Slip n’ Dip from Waterworks. Party Rentals is actually a good business if you consider it. Inflatable Party Rentals are hot commodity because they are the life of the party - be it for children’s parties, adult celebrations and even for carnival games! We saw a bounce house inflatable in the mall and the kids were lining up! With the summer happening hotter than ever, Water Slide Party rentals will be something most families would really rent. There is nothing more fun than playing with water in the heat! Better make sure though, that if you rent inflatables, the company has someone who is there all throughout the party to oversee the operations. Plus, they need to be there from the set up to the pack up. Inflatable Adventures has inflatable rentals from adults to children, from corporate events to parties.

Yes, all roads lead to Vegas this weekend for the much-awaited Pacquiao fight! I bet almost all Las Vegas hotels are packed with Filipinos! I foresee a very quiet Saturday this week, with no traffic as most people are going to be couped up at their homes glued to the TV watching the fight. Manny Pacquiao has been the new hero to Pinoys and we are all praying and rooting for him! Go Pacquiao!

And isnt it so convenient for them to hold one right in front of where I work? I hope it wont turn into something big. Please pray.

O eto na, ako ata pinakahuling magbloblog about this, hehehe (Pasensya na naging yaya ako for how many days super ngarag lagi :). Edit: Hindi pala, di pa nagbloblog si Jacqui about it
Hehehe.
OK. How will I start?
I honestly was surprised to receive an e-mail from Apols about the party. First (magpakatotoo lang no, hehehe), I really wasn’t friendly-friends with most of them (as in blog friends), and half of them I barely knew (pero malakas ang name recall kasi galing N@W).
But then, Joy, Peachy, Mich and Jane were there so go na ako
(Plus pala si Alpha na di naman pumunta. Hmph).
So the day of the party, as usual, I was ngarag. The maid chose the uncanny date to go on leave so di na ako nakapagpa-parlor tuloy
Hehehe. Thankfully, my sisters were willing to babysit the kids (or else di talaga ako pupunta, did you notice how Martha was all over the place? Well, wala makakanotice kasi lakad lang sya ng lakad talaga, LOL). Tapos, si husband chose that day to be masipag and do the laundry (ang totoo nainis sya kasi di ko agad nasabi sa kanya…para syang artista na kelangan ng booking ha!).
So anyway, the party

She turns 57 today. And doesnt look a day older than that. She taught me breeding, to be perfect, to be honest. She has always believed in my ability to do anything and accomplish everything. Even when I shattered her heart, she was very proud of me still. Oh so proud.
Happy Birthday Mommy

As a teenager, we all had our share of fantasy dreams and celebrity (whether it be an actor or a sports celebrity) crushes. I often dreamed of meeting Keanu Reeves in person after watching the movie, Speed! (You can now guess how old I am judging by how so long ago the movie was!) I also had my share of sports celebrity crushes too - but this time, I focused on basketball players. I had my share of teen idolism too, and since I really wasnt a sports buff to begin with, I look up to women involved with sports and who excel at them with so much admiration.
However, if you are a fan of softball, you can now make your dreams come true! There is theFastpitch Softball Cruise with Crystl Bustos, Natasha Watley, and Amanda Freed on December 21, Friday until December 23, Sunday. You can have the chance to meet up and cruise with Crystl Bustos, Natasha Watley, and Amanda Freed, who are all Olympic Gold medalists. You have to between 13-18 years old to be able to join the cruise, and be a woman, of course. This is all-women camp! (It will make things easier for you to get permission from your parents then!) Tickets are selling at a discounted price of $1,195 (from the original $1,295). You need to pack enough clothing for two nights, have a softball uniform ready for instruction and on-field demonstration, your softball equipment like glove, bat, cleats and of course, any item you want to be autographed!
If your parents still have reservations about this, you can refer them to the site, www.softballcruise.com, and tell them to go to the “safety” link page. The cruise ship (The Legacy) is coast guard certified and there will be a licensed EMT & Athletic Trainer onboard the ship.
Here is their press release for more information:
Fastpitch Softball Cruise with Crystl Bustos, Natasha Watley, and Amanda Freed
October 23, 2007 – Long Beach, California – On December 21st and 22nd girls ages 13 through 18 will have the opportunity to embark on a land and sea cruise expedition with some of the world’s greatest Fastpitch Softball Olympic stars. YourCitySports.com, a provider of services within the Softball industry, together with Crystl Bustos, Natasha Watley, and Amanda Freed are offering this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. For detailed information on the cruise please visit the website at http://www.softballcruise.com.
The two-day, two-night event starts off with a Bon Voyage party where all the parents and guests are invited to mingle with the stars and crew. The boat sets sail on Saturday morning and makes way towards Catalina Island while the guests have breakfast followed by an exercise session on the top deck. The cruise arrives at Descono Bay where the real training begins. The star athletes will focus on subjects such as conditioning, agility, pitching, batting, and fielding.
Back on the ship is where most of the incredible lifetime memories will be created. For dinner, the athletes will compete in a cooking competition judged by the guests. After eating, the guests and athletes will unite their vocal cords to create a Rock Video with the stars and DJ. In the evening the guests will have the chance to reflect on their day and socialize with friends. Sunday morning the fun continues when everyone disembarks for a beach picnic and Volleyball game.
On the way home, guests will be able to obtain up to two autographs and personal photos from each star. Since there will be a photographer most of the time, photos and other great memorabilia will be available for sale at the end of the trip, although each ticket does include one professional 8½” x 11″ photograph. Upon arrival, parents are once again invited to board the ship for a Farewell Award Ceremony.

Matthew will love this - it is the new SM’s Science Discover Center at Mall of Asia. It pays 330p/head to enter but basing from Anton’s two-part reviews, it will be so worth it. I need to squeeze them in on schedule once Matthew hits his sembreak. So far, the only plan is to go Trick or Treating on the 31st but they are going to be staying with my parents so it can be a little tricky. I also plan to go there after work, depending on traffic. I want to give it a try, anyways. Matthew will go ballistic when he learns about this!

And Matthew already did a dress rehearsal, LOL. He was *tad* disappointed because of the hair LOL, but got all excited when his Dad told him he will put skulls and a tattoo on him to make him look like a real pirate
Martha’s costume is CUTE! I just hope it will fit her - the tag said it fits up to 20lbs. and I am afraid she is more than that. However, Im so excited, the material is not itchy at all (parang ngang mumurahin pa tela, tapos $20, que horror!) but breathable.
Here are their costumes, and these are the exact versions kasi ganyan na ganyan nakalagay sa harap ng bag.

**No sword and cap for Jack Sparrow though, and less hair, mga 2 braids each side, LOL.

Anybody going to this Halloween Party? We (me and my sisters-in-law) are thinking of going there instead of our usual mall so that we can have a change of environment. Plus, I love going to Mall of Asia (MOA). Edil and I spent a lot of time walking there, especially outside near the bay.
So here is an update on the kids’ costumes: Matthew went BALLISTIC when he learned he was bought a pirate costume. He wouldn’t go trick or treating na daw because kids will laugh at him - he is not daw scary! Im not joking - Mato really threw a tantrum! If this is what lies ahead during their teen years, Im not looking forward to it. Edil appeased him by saying he will just go as a ghost pirate (meron ba nun?) by buying him a pirate ghost mask. He is somewhat appeased, but he still cannot forgive the Mommy for “ruining” his costume. Grabe sa drama ‘day! (Syempre, ako si kontrabida)
Marta is going to be a ladybug! Or a honeybee, LOL - Im not entirely sure. She was supposed to be a tulip fairy but they had trouble finding her size so ladybug (or honeybee) it is. I haven’t seen it yet so Im not sure what color combination it is but Im guessing it is with black and _______. So I guess I need to make a hunt for black shoes and stockings? Naku, I sincerely hope the princess would not argue with having a nice little headpiece on her head. Id be jumping for joy if I can get a nice picture of them and that the costumes stay for at least one hour before they complain of being “itchy” LOL.
Thanks to Ninang Yon and Ninang Mariel for the costumes! I promise to send pictures!!!
