Uniforms for a Reason

I clearly remember when my husband worked as a sales representative for a pharmaceutical company. He resented it every Friday when he was required to wear the company’s uniform, which was the most hideous colors – lime green and eggplant (Yes, I kid you not!). It did not help that the uniform was very hot to the skin (I don’t think it was made of cotton.) My husband was fine with the idea of wearing a uniform, as it took away the pressure of having different business suits everyday. But that particular business uniform was just not his type (in truth, not my favorite either!), the colors were terrible and he was not comfortable in it. Sales people are required and expected to look presentable and at their best at all times. They represent the company they work for. My husband’s uniform was not only ugly, but it also wasn’t fit for the humid weather of this country. I told him he didn’t have a choice, that he had to put up with it, as a representative of his company, he was required to wear it. I have since heard about a company that makes uniforms, iD by Landau. They offer a wide variety of choices so that each company can pick a uniform to best represent them. iD by Lanau provides hotel uniforms, business uniforms and even chef apparel. I can only imagine how much more comfortable (and happy)my husband might have been in a uniform polo shirt or another of the beautiful options this company provides.

For the Father of my Kids :)

Edil

Dad. Daddy. Papa. Ama.

*This is a repost of what I wrote a year ago – with revisions :)

Today is Father’s Day.
Here’s to the four fathers I know who have shown the world what fatherhood is about:
image
Papa: my father-in-law.
He has been the provider for everybody and has always been ready to help in everyway he can. He continues to teach me, by example, that nothing is impossible with hardwork and perseverance.

Daddy: my father.
He is the best father and I say that without bias :P He is imperfect, but when it comes to his children – he is really one of a kind. He continues to teach me, by example, that nothing is impossible with faith.

Dad: Edil, my husband.
He does everything for his kids. We may not see eye to eye on so many different things. He may not be the ideal husband, but my kids are blooming and making progress because he balances my straight boring ways :P He continues to teach me, by example, that nothing is impossible with love.

My God, Our Father.
When all else has failed me, when I have failed everything and everyone else, it is only He and He alone who has been there. all the time. If only we people can love others the way He loves us, there would be none of the never ending problems we face today.

Happy Father’s Day, Ama.

And I leave you with a quote that best describes the fathers I have known:

"My father didn’t tell me how to live; He lived and let me watch him do it."

3-0

That layout above is my most-viewed item in my Flickr, getting a record breaking 527 views since I posted it. The second most-viewed item only had 215.

The husband turns 3-0 today! And yes, 30 is the new 16. He said that himself, hehehe.

I like him better at 30. The love doesn’t change though. But liking a husband is better, dont you agree? It means you can live with him without having to hate him. Because you like him :)

Happy Birthday Edilberto!

Playing Basketball again.

Edil has recently discovered the joy of playing basketball again. He stopped playing for a year because life got busy and he hasnt found anybody in our area to play with but fortunately, with his work, they have formed a group that plays basketball twice a week. He is doing better now not unlike the first time he played again, he needed to use Kinesio Tape over his joints to make sure everything doesnt get torn or strained.Kinesio Tape, is a super thin athletic tape, about the same thickness and the elasticity of skin and muscles. Kinesio Tape is made of a porous cotton fabric with a medical grade acrylic adhesive that allows the skin under the tape to breathe be cleaned while showering. It gives support and stability to your joints and muscles without affecting circulation and range of motion. So it is better than having strips of cloth to bind your joints with!

Reason why I Love the Husband #1

Because he downloaded the HDTV version of Coffee Prince for me :) (11.2GB of it with subtitles!!). And yes, without me asking me to do it. I just wanted the subs provided by fans better than those they hire to do the subbing.

And then he puts up with me hitting, screaming (for another guy), pinching, making kurot, and generally being a crazed fan (you should see me talaga) whenever we watch together. Yes, he watches with me.

Then he notices Gong Yoo looks like a guy who used to court me – na alam kong malayo, kasi kung kamukha sya ni Gong Yoo, di kami kasal ngayun. LOL. Pero yes, he has no qualms about my addictions – scrapping, Gong Yoo, Coffee Prince and what-not.

He even makes sure I have access to all my addictions.

(Brought to you in time for Valentine’s Day).
