Archives for Christmas Countdown category

For me that is :(.

I go back to work tomorrow.
Today we slept in, Martha and I, after being awake at 5AM because I need to prepare Mato for school. He is on a school bus now, after much crying. And we now have two maids, I hope they last (kahit hanggang March lang please) - one is a cook and the other one takes care of Martha.

We are going to her pediatrician to have her tuberculin test measured (based on her arm, Im sure she has Primary Complex) and then off to Mato’s dentist. Last hurrah for everything else.

Be back with my health update :)

Yay! The Christmas Album is at least 50% done!! I cannot believe how easy it is to do this! I have been scrapping for the last two days and was able to finish the majority. Lessons learned: 1) Plan and be organized. 2) Journal in your notebook (or BLOG!) — there are entries which are blog entries. 3) Take PICTURES!

Im trying to finish this before January 15 to take advantage of the 20% off from Shutterfly. I scored a great deal off Ebay ($7.75 for 5 Shutterfly Calendars!) and plan to make a calendar for my in-laws and their families too :)

Im sick of eating, I swear. LOL. We passed by a total of THREE houses on Christmas Day all of them with tables full of holiday food. I honestly got sick just looking at them. LOL. I ate a little of everything (no rice!) but I was looking for my grandma’s paella. She really cooks it well (one of a kind). As always, too much overdose of sweets - cakes, pastries, cookies, salads, etc. I really need to get serious in losing weight next year. Everybody was commenting and asking what happened to me! (You know how Pinoys are!)

Reality Bites.

It is back to work for me tomorrow!

We had a very nice Christmas — busy, tiring but really fun. The kids had a blast opening all their toys, which was really something else. Christmas really is for the kids. We (the family) didnt give each other anything, but it was so nice seeing the kids (there were only two apos, mind you) opening their presents. Matthew was all smiles (he didnt want to get any picture taken all thoughout the night, I swear, that deserves another story! LOL), but he gamely posed for this:

Mainly because it was time to open pressies :)

Happy Holidays!

Christmas has arrived.

LBC made good on its promises.

Peachy delivered the crocs. OMG, Martha didnt want to take it off - no exaggeration. Matthew was excited - primarily because he told me there are little things he can stick them with (Pokemon Jibbitz) that he saw in Comic Alley - QUE Horror! Pati sapatos, Pokemon (anu ba yan!).

Then Glo’s package came :D (Tama ka Mare, super mega sayang ung space, kasya na dun ung package na isa! Next time, we will be better! Promise!) My planner was oooh lala, and I have new sandals, a dozen pens, Martha has new shoes, then the Advent Calendar is here! LOL A little late but at least we can have it early for next year ;)

Then I scored some nice deals at SM regarding the kids’ pajamas. I got them matching sets (red, white and green) with the other one @ 50% off. I wasnt particularly crazy about Martha’s but she looked awfully cute when she tried it on. I got some really cheap jackets for Edil and me at Surplus as well.

Little bits little bits, excited na ako :)

2 Days to go and I can finally enjoy the season.
You know what’s nice? I have alloted some really loooooooooooong time before I go to sleep to write down what I feel, what I learned, what Im scared of, and from there, I dont know how to describe it, pero parang I end like up Im praying.

I missed being close.
I have been spiritually dry for the longest time. And no matter how hard I try to find Him, parang I cannot see Him. (Though I know He is always there) - parang wala lang, Im just dry.

But those little long moments I allot for myself and Him has done wonders to me.

Last night I was tearful when I wrote what happened to my Dad. See, his CPAP machine broke, and when you have COPD, you need to have that machine all that time. Worse, Martha was the one who broke the CPAP machine! My mom told me she cant go to Manila because my Dad passed out during Simbang Gabi because the whole day he was helping in the construction of the shrine :(.

And then I felt the need to really preserve this Christmas, you know. For all we know, we might never be complete like this. Abbie is leaving. My Dad’s health is not at its finest. We have plans. I might go out of the country. Edil might need to work on another country. We will never know.

And this is the first Christmas I will have with my parents in 2 years. I guess the reason why Ive been so giddy this season is I can finally focus on something else rather than who needs who, what gets done, which house to go to.

For all I care. If it were left all up to me, we will be holed up in the shrine until New Years.

OK I Lied.

I told you Im done with the mall but I was there. Again. Last night.

Hehehe.

Baka bukingin ako ni Peachy (Nagkita kami dun eh).

In fairness, we went there to buy some hooks for the glass balls still in need to be hung. And some Starbucks (I sell planners but Edil wants to complete stickers, labo mehn. Para sa akin daw yun — gift nya. Pero ako bumibili ng kape namin. Pano naman un?! LOL). But the line was so long so we decided to buy pizza from Yellow Cab na lang.

While we waited for our order, Martha ventured to the stalls from the toy section. So in the end, I checked out a talking mobile phone and sketch doodle (Lokong salesman un binigay sa akin 499, meron palang 268 lang. Buti na lang mas gusto ni Martha ung Pooh kaya nakita ko).

So to be fair, I gave Edil moolah to go to Tutu to buy lots of small stuff for the boy - anything Pokemon of course. :) It’s hard to buy na for Matthew because “anything cute” doesn’t mean anything to him these days. He really knows what he wants na.

And Joy, di pa kami tapos magshopping. Kaso wala ng pera kaya tigil shopping na talaga, hahahaha! We dont’ have clothes yet, because I cant seem to find nice navy clothes. The only requirement I really have for myself is to buy some bonnets and sweaters for us before we go to Amadeo. Edil doesnt have any jacket (me neither) and the kids only have one pair (I think). Im sure Ill find so many nice stuff at Surplus. Again, I should’ve planned this months in advance already.

No Wrapping of Gifts.

Yes. Well, maybe the big ones lang. The boxes are so old and dusty anyways (we got them on sale), and it will take time to assemble everything. LOL. I will wrap the little gifts though.

See where I took the idea from on this blog.

And well, Matthew took out the stockings and said we need to fill it with candy to give out to kids who sing outside every night. I notice there are a few kids who sing carols these days. They just knock on the door and ask for food :(. So sad.

Im done with Christmas shopping — even if we are not exactly done yet. LOL. Suko na ako. I am so done aiming for a perfect Christmas when I can just sit back, relax and enjoy the season diba? As long as the kids are done and we have pressies for the oldies (read: my parents) OK na un. All my other gifts are still on transit, so they will get tiered gifts anyways. LOL

Last night, I got tired of our red and green Christmas tree lights. So what did I do? I re-did our tree. Grabe. Di ko lang talaga sya ma-take. I took lots of pictures though. Will upload them later on Flickr. My mom will be home tonight and I am so sure she will scold me for not having a Belen but a tiny Christmas village. I was looking for a belen kaso wala na ako makita sa SM :( (Ayoko na makipagsapalaran sa Divi at Tutu) Any suggestions where?

I have been working all weekend so I can start not going to work on Friday (Matthew’s birthday) so I might be scarce. Ill be finishing so many assignments since I cant promise I will like to go online once we get to Amadeo. (We need to get pala bonnets for the kids. My mom told me it is freezing and windy at night na dun).

So far, before we go to Amadeo I have only requested two things from Edil. We buy bibingka in Ferino’s and puto bumbong in a place in Abad Santos na super like ko. Plus sana we can attend simbang gabi in UST kahit one night lang. I love USTe’s lights during Christmas.

Im not worrying on our Noche Buena coz my Mom will take care of it. We usually go to Lolos and Lolas anyways so wala talagang problema.

Ano pa ba? Am I missing something pa?

Very Nice.

1. Received my first Christmas card and first Christmas gift (from two different persons!) — thanks Wanda!
2. Bonus AGAIN! — woooohooooo!!!
3. I completely scored some gingerbread plates. LOL.
4. Scored some cheap nice pants.
5. And Martha has been sleeping since 8PM :) ME time.

And Marimar had a nice kilig entry for once in a long time ;)

Bullets

  • Got my EON card. Let’s see if I can have my own Paypal by next week.
  • Went to the doctor again yesterday.
  • I need to go to MY doctor by next week too.
  • I need to wrap gifts by the weekend.
  • AND finish everything by the weekend.

Busy Bee.

It seems the holidays are truly upon us! Everybody has been so busy, including me!

Jane asked me what will be our holiday schedule this year. This year my parents will celebrate the holidays with us after 2 years of spending it abroad. Yay! After taking Matthew out on his birthday on the 21st, we go straight to Amadeo and stay there until Christmas Eve. Christmas Day will be spent in parts. In the morning, we trek to Bulacan for the reunion we have in our mother’s side of the family (paternal). Edil plans to squeeze in an hour with my in-laws in Valenzuela. Then we go to Makati to visit my Lola in my mother’s side of the family (maternal). The we go (finally) to my dad’s mom, Lola Rose, in QC.

Gosh, writing it all down has made me tired. Edil cannot drive (he’s banned! LOL), and my Dad isnt fit enough to drive — which means we need to find a driver pa. *sigh*.

Look how they’ve grown :)

See picture here.

Oh my. This was the post that was supposed to be my post on the day Trillanes made a dramatic show at the Pen (only to surrender after 15 minutes. Kainis. He should have let himself be killed — magiging hero pa sya. Sorry for being tactless ha, pero nainis talaga ako dun.)

Anyway, onto the story.

We went to the nearest SM (where else?! :D) on November 29th after I arrived from work. Since I was so worked up doing the Shutterfly album, I told myself I might as well get a picture of them for December. And to have Xmas cards din (I was not planning on doing this since nobody in my side of the world does that anymore, pero what the heck, I had free coupons so might as well use them.) The night before Edil and I tried (HARD) to get them into a frame together but Matthew didnt like to take pictures (I swear in a few years he will not do any pictures anymore) and Martha was being soo makulit. So I was resigned to have them in a studio.

I originally planned to get them into Great Image on a white background because I have plans of altering naman them as well. But they don’t give hi-res copies so Edil told me to try na lang DigiPrint. So we went.

So initially we inquired (it was my first time there), and their price was cheap. 30P for a 5R print, when you have your picture taken from their studio (no studio sit-in fee). So pwede na. My budget was only P300 kasi I was really just after for good light and a white background.

First try. The two of them seemed to be in coke overdose I swear. Matthew is naturally behaved but he was sooo all over the place that day. Of course, Martha being the shadow, she was all over the place too. And Martha did not want to smile. She would stop for a while then smile then dash off to play. Nakakaasar! So after 15 minutes, we decided to take a break. The saleslady was kind enough to tell us na bumalik na lang kami (Wala naman bayad daw).

Good Tuesday Morning!

“Goooood Moooorning!!!!”
If you know the Lucky Me noodles commercial, that was how I greeted my morning today. Even if I was 7 minutes late for work today because my beloved son who is seven going on seventeen threw a tantrum because he didnt want hotdogs for breakfast. Even if Martha woke up at the ungoldy hour of 6AM. Even if Martha is on steroids to curb an acute asthma attack, which the pedia resident on duty at the ER didnt notice when we made the ungodly trip at freaking 3AM in the morning last Monday morning. Even if Im hallucinating with all the to-do lists.

Because I feel I have been dwelling on a pity party the past two weeks. Things have been pretty tight and bumpy with the husband because of stupid things people do. But in a marriage, you just need to hold on tight when the ride gets pretty bumpy. I have to admit, things can get crazy around me and Ill be unperturbed. Throw in a family problem and Im in shambles. LOL. Everything is good though, no worries :) Just a little stupid stupid :D

I leave with you with this as a starter post for a marathon blogging event today LOL. To make up on the two days I havent posted.

img_0995.jpg

Are you doing a photo a day for December? Im doing one. I dont know if I will or can scrap them. I just want to take one photo a day :). With this one, it was taken the usual round up before sleeping. I really love this picture save for Martha’s binkie. She looks so grown up already! Most of her baby clothes don’t fit anymore.

And Glo will get the scare of her life when she learns my son is using the Rebel to take pictures already. Case in point:

ea.jpg

We were taking pictures and then the kid goes, “You two naman.” Aint my son sweet? Galing no?

OK. Enough shopping, more story telling from yours truly. Laters :D
