Party Hopper

That’s what we were yesterday, we attended two birthday parties in a span of three hours and the kids were so happy (and amazed) with all the balloons, prizes and give-aways. It was so nice to see friends I chat with everyday but as usual, we really need to plan something that doesnt involve the kids para di bitin. I want to post pictures but as usual, it’s tiring for me – I still owe blog posts from Christmas bwahahaha.

March na! Grabe gyud!

I take that back. Some pictures. SOME lang. I swear I have pro photographers as friends, pwede na kami magpapicture ng libre LOL.

The loot bags were a hit with both the kids and mommies – it can pass for custom promotional products :) !

Saka na kwento!

I finally have a social life.

After Edil allowed me to watch Twilight, my Mom was gracious enough to look after Martha so I can go to the Twitter Meet-up last Friday. I was out on the road as early as 7:30AM because I knew once Martha wakes up, it will be hard for me to go. I arrived at Makati around 10:30AM and had some me time – had coffee and cake, a treat to myself and I finally was able to do some notes on an ongoing project I have.

Lunch was a blur. All I remember was I had a bad headache but was still laughing so hard my tummy hurt all the time.

You should see the hilarious photos (and comments) at Litzie’s Flickr. Too bad it’s for friends’ only. We got to keep our celebrity status private ya know :D

I also got the loots I bought months ago. I havent even taken pictures of it yet – we hid it immediately because the kids might see it. Martha saw the Dora plate set already and is now using it. Thanks Mare.

Im actually itching to go out again. Sabik sa kausap, hahahaha. But since the next box will be at my place, Im 100% sure I wont need to go to Manila anymore. Sonya’s here we come :D

Thanks for making me laugh so hard. And the kids are so thankful for the little little somethings you gave. Kayo talaga. Nakakahiya.

…because I dont want to be like the rest of the world going crazy over Twilight.

But I am. I am crazy about Twilight. :D

Edil looked after the kids last Sunday so I can go watch the movie with friends Joy and Kelly in Makati. Think about all the planning that outing involved with me living 3 hrs away from the city :D (Heehee) – but that deserves another post.

I love love love love Twilight. I love the complexities they have on love and family and how selfless it can be when it is true. I love the dialogue. I love the characters. I fell in love with Cullen family. I love Edward Cullen (who wouldnt? LOL)

In fact, I finished the books (Book 1-4) in 3 days. Well make it 2 and a half. So though I was like a walking zombie..ehem..vampire afterwards with coffee as my blood, it was really worth it. It helped that I watched the movie before reading Books 2-4 because it was easier for me to see them. And conversing via email with Joy and Kelly about it was more exciting, we were like teenagers majorly crushing on a hot star. Ehem. We also were like discussing important issues you know..how Edward was rock hard solid and how Bella can be so torn between Jacob and Edward e yun pala……(spoiler).

Anyway, about the movie…spoilers are ahead so dont read if you havent watched it.

I am grateful.

  1. I have always believed I live a charmed life. Privileged. Lucky. Blessed. It holds true today more than ever. I maybe lacking in material things but I have the best family, and I have developed this really amazing outlook that being happy is really a choice to BE HAPPY. Life may suck or not go way with what you have planned, but you will always have something that you can be HAPPY for. Choose to be happy.
  2. I have this privilege since I was born that sadly, I have been taking for granted. It is my fervent prayer I get to able to get back to it soon. I need to pray more.
  3. I am grateful for my husband. Life has never been the same the night I saw him 14 years ago. At the risk of sounding so gushy, I *just* knew he was going to be special. Of course I never knew he was the one. He has taught me what commitment really means and teaches me how to really love without condition. It is still a work in progress, but hey baby, we are so in this marriage together. As we have always agreed, “We will always make this work.”
  4. I am grateful for my kids. People always say I have always been driven. But what they dont know is that I have been an underachiever all my life. With my kids, I aim higher, dream more and act on it faster. They have changed my life. And I would not have it any other way, when I had my firstborn at 19. I knew it then, I know it now, He gave me my son to be able to save me.
  5. I am grateful for being able to know an amazing person who loves me. She is far, I may not be able to talk to her but she has always been there without me knowing I need her. Thanks Ate. I love you.
  6. I am indebted to my parents. We never stop needing them you know and even as a parent myself, I am so lost without them. My only dream is to be able to give them a comfortable life before they go.
  7. I am grateful for the people here who have made our lives easier. Seldom do we find people who work without expecting money in return or those who really have genuine care. Thank you.
  8. I am grateful for discovering blogging. It has made me introspective, made me know myself better, opened a new world for me, made me earn so much more than I have ever dreamed and gave me real friends.
  9. I am grateful for discovering scrapbooking.
  10. And I am grateful for YOU. You who read my blog, who never fails to cheer for me, cry with me and just root for me. You dont comment, but I have let you peek into my life and what goes on in my little head. Thank you. For not judging, for believing, for continuing to read.

Here’s to writing more little snippets for you to enjoy.
Happy Thanksgiving.

I’m laughing as I am typing this as I feel like last Saturday’s party was such a HUGE occasion (well it is, but even Martha’s birthday nor my Dad’s ever got close to leaving THREE posts in just one blog alone, LOL). I know most of you understand. We need work, we need posts or else the sh*r*ff will be mad. :)

Read more about the party at these blog posts (I’ll update this post as soon you have a new one, just leave a comment!):

I know I am still lacking on a few other blog updates. Please tell me if you have blogged about it. For now, I would need to compare pricing and effects of Tonalin and Orovo online.

Here are the kids’ wish list:

Matthew:
When I asked him we were going to a party and there will be an exchange gift for kids, he immediately told me, “Mommy ung Tell Me Books ha.”

It’s a series (collection) of books we found at Toys R Us in Trinoma two weeks before. It costs around 300P each if Im not mistaken.

Just get us one from the rest, except the Tell Me What? and Tell Me Why?
My son will be ecstatic and I will forever be grateful you have spared me from a possible round of endless questions. I still need to complete them by Christmas. (If Sandy got Kuya Matthew, she might give the whole set….hahaha!)

Martha:
This one is hard – Id ask for shoes but your hair will turn grey looking for her size. :) Id ask for toys but we have two truckloads of boxes with them wherein she throws them one at a time. Id ask for dolls but she has seven of them, sitting with her on the sofa, sleeping with her on the bed, ALL the time, I seriously think I have seven children already. (Entry on that soon).

So Ill go really practical here:
Our Elmo and Barney DVDs are scratched beyond recognition. We NEED variety (well, I need one) or else Ill go crazy with Dora Seasons 1-3 playing all day (That’s 14 epis each mind you!).

So please give her Elmo and Barney DVDs – I dont mind if it’s pirated (just really nice quality). The 19-in-1 collection will be great, hahaha. (Basta wag ung Chinese ha, check nyo na lang).

And then if you have ABC and number board books (BOARD Books, nangpupunit na to eh) you can give it to her as well – Booksale has lots, I dont want expensive stuff. Masisira talaga.

Give it to her in a box and watch her go “WOW”. Lagyan nyo na lang ng Dora picture. LOL.

If that is too cheap for you (hahaha!), please get her 4T clothes – jammies for Christmas (pink, red or white), nice sets of casual clothes, it would be nice (Yes, 4T please).

M.I.A

I have been offline (well, not entirely, hindi lang talaga nagpaparamdam :P ) for sometime (just disappeared from Twitter last Friday) and yesterday for the MBAP meeting. Argh. I have a valid reason :D

Offline: Firefox 3.0 sucks. Big time. Well, there are still a lot of bugs so dont download it so soon. I kept getting a page load error last Friday on most sites and I thought it was an ISP error on my end. The burning point was when my I could not even reach my own blog! So I checked using my Dad’s connection at their end and it came up. ISP not a problem. I thought the firewall of my Kaspersky was the problem. Disabled it. Error still there. I was literally crying my frustration – major Aggie tantrum about to erupt when Edil stepped in. He didnt know what to do. I was livid! LOL.

The solution: Googled. I googled “page load error” (the error of the websites) and found the thread from the Mozilla forums. Boo. Troubleshooted. The error went away.

The next day, FF kept on closing! Aba eh!
The solution: Uninstalled FF3.0, downloaded and installed FF2.0.

HAPPY Aggie.

Real Life: I was supposed to go to Manila for the MBAP meeting yesterday and was really going. But the kids wanted to go swimming and we did. We were alone in a nice new pool and I swam (first time ever this summer – summer pa ba?) so the kids are nognog again and Edil and I are sunburned. We swam from 1pm to 4pm (Atat the kidlets).

This explains why I can blog and surf like crazy because the kids are knocked out and Edil is sleeping soundly. We are to go to the Shrine and stay there for the mass and some bonding time with the grandparents. My mom has a pella pan I want to see. And we need to take pictures of the Golden Retriever puppies we will be selling.

By Tuesday, Im off to Manila for a tentative three-day work week – many many errands to do. I hope to meet my best friends and do some pampering if ever I get a huge separation pay from the company I worked for. Here’s praying.

Enjoy the remaining of the weekend :D
