We have pregnancies again within our circle of friends! Two of my friends from way back made the announcement that they were expecting last June and now a few months later, two of my friends are also expecting! Every year there is a baby boom!

There is even an ongoing joke around the group that since babies were being born every year, we should be practical and just sell pre-loved items especially since most are stopping at baby number 2!

I have done that to both kids – I don’t have their baby stuff with me anymore except for a special layette I used for the two of them since they were babies and their baptismal and birthday outfits (including their shoes then).

Baby Bedding Sets are preserved though. I cannot believe how expensive baby stuff are these days – they can go as high as the normal (and larger) bed linens! Good thing we found great stuff at affordable prices at Baby Bedding Palace. This is where most of my friends order so they can give gifts at baby shower parties!

Look at what you can get:

I went over status updates of friends in my Facebook when I found out a good friend, after years of trying to conceive, is pregnant with a baby boy! I know she and her husband has been praying for one for a long time and finding out it is a boy is just icing on the cake.

Knowing my friend, she would dive right in and will be planning and decorating the baby’s nursery in no time. She is a very creative person. She planned out the ittiest bits of her weddingS – yes she got married twice (to the same person), dove head on to mastering photography and scrapbooking and decorated all the houses they lived in beautifully. She really has an eye for art and eye candy. I actually cannot wait what she will do for the nursery. I am sure it will be a theme that is artistic, trendy and cute all at the same time. Baby Bedding Sets would be themed too, I bet.

I often wonder which months are the busiest for baby deliveries and with two friends due in three weeks, five friends celebrating their babies first birthdays next month and two relatives giving birth just last week, the answer is clear – the last quarter of the year is baby season! (And the first quarter is obviously mating season!)

There is no industry so much commercialized than the baby industry. Do you agree? I have given birth two times in the span of eight years and each year, there are new gadgets that come out that parents and babies “need”, totally changing caring for the baby. While most of them have been heaven sent for mothers and caretakers, like breast pumps, fashionable baby wearing slings, disposable liners for bottles, some of them are just invented to take money from parents who should just spend it for their baby’s vaccines and milk.

Each year, strollers are becoming more fashionable, compact, sturdy and lightweight. Ads even claim their stroller rods have been tested in the laboratory. It makes me think how much strollers are like cars these days – it makes them as expensive as well. I really do not have anything against it because I’m all for strollers – I personally would want them before I give birth because there are things babies need to be trained to get used to – the car seat, the crib and the stroller. My son didn’t like being in the stroller because we put him in when he was 6 months old – going around in the mall was such a pain because he was heavy. My daughter on one hand treats her stroller like her sleeping bed and car. When she is put in her stroller, she knows two things – she will be seeing things (going out) or she will be driven around to lull her to sleep. It has been very effective and easy for me.
