Lovely Bones

P365_0223

One of my goals this year was to get back to reading. I wanted to try reading other stuff and explore new authors and I picked this book because it was listed as one of the top sellers in the Fiction List in the bookstore. The concept of heaven drew me to it – wouldn’t it be nice if heaven is really everything we imagine and want it to be?

The Calm Before the Storm.

So….29.

Nothing truly remarkable, earth-shattering, mind-boggling about that. It just leads me one year closer to another decade.

P365_0217

What has become of me during my 20s? I gave birth to two kids, packed on another me, weight-wise, got married, finished two degrees and here I am…doing absolutely nothing. I need more than an anti-wrinkle cream to bring back the old me. I need a makeover, literally and figuratively. The strange thing is, I do not even want the old me back. I guess I need to discover what new “me” I want to be. My bucketlist to 30 begins.

Itching to Chop it Off. Again

004

This is my latest picture, taken last December 27. As you can see, my hair has grown longer (up to the ends of my shoulder blades already in fact). This is owing to exactly one year of growing my hair. I promised myself I won’t have a hair cut and I will try having my hair curled for once in my life. Now that I am only waiting for a few inches to grow out (and a few home treatments to prepare my hair for the trauma, hehehe), I am now itching to cut if all off again. This happened in 2008 as well, at the spur of the moment, I had it cut. I know I really dont need a  trim with my hair but a quick trim with my big big belly (hehehe), but for now, I cant seem to take it off my mind! It’s driving me crazy. The husband told me to have it curled and if I dont like it, to cut it off = to simply put it, don’t worry too much about hair (for Christ’s sake!).

I didn’t need to off on one of those orlando vacations, all I needed was to make sure I get to see this on its opening day:

Thankfully, I was able to watch it with fellow twi-fan friends. We scheduled to see on its opening day at Greenbelt and even if I was late (I slept on the bus!), at least I wasn’t late for the showing.

I will spare you the reviews for the movie because clearly I am biased and will always be subjective (you can always hover here and here though for my thoughts). It sucked, it rocked, whatever you thought it was, for me, it rocked :D

New Moon + Mushy Scenes + Hot Men + Good Food + Friends = Very Fun Mommy Day-off!

We ate at Chilli’s for lunch, watched the movie, ate some ice cream, then had cake at Conti’s. Only I got jealous of the pregnant friend’s craving (beside me), I ordered rice too – and the rest of us as well.

Now June 30, 2010 is blocked off our calendars so we can watch Eclipse :)

Drowning.

In pain – my tooth is acting up again so the killer headaches are here! I am drowning from painkillers. I need to take antibiotics and have an appointment with the dentist soon.

In work – Work has been piling because I am biting more than I can chew, admittedly. But I need to take advantage of everything -  cash flow is sometimes short, but I have locked a considerable amount of savings with a friend. I am looking forward to finally having a savings account + some extra for low cost health insurance!

In real life events – too much in the agenda of everyday. I don’t have a maid so household chores (including the dreaded laundry) is now on top of my mountain load of to-do lists.

But I am drowning with newfound knowledge, blessings, love and care. Everyday I try to discover myself more, who really am I deep down, sans the parents, the kids, the husband, the accomplishments, the failures – at 28, I still have a lot to learn. I hope it won’t be too late when I know my true self.

I love how Twitter has helped me document my everyday life more – it truly is micro-blogging at its finest. I can see Twitter eventually replacing personal blogs – Tumblr is also one I am curious to try because you can share links pictures and blog posts in one page like Twitter. I discovered that when I was looking for a Delta faucet online as Matthew’s assignment for a subject in school.

Here is a roughly edited form of micro-blogging from Twitter. Feel free to follow me there.

I Am…

6a00d834518f7769e2011278fb52e728a4-800wi

I haven’t been around for awhile. I can come up with so many reasons and excuses for it but I realize I owe no one an explanation. I’m not going to try and get caught up anymore because really now, whoever does catch up with life?

I am a work in a progress.

If the Shoe fits..

I’m big feet personified. I cannot even begin to count the number of times I have said that in my blog. At 12 years old, I already had size 9 feet. To say shoe shopping was a nightmare is an understatement. Fast forward to when I was 16 or 17, I was officially on the big feet list – size 10. It didn’t help that pregnancy and being overweight relaxes feet bones and now I am a size 11.

Back during the days when I haven’t got Glo as a best bud and a personal shopper, I relied on relatives sending me shoes once a year from the US. Otherwise, I survive on whatever is here. I’m very lucky because my aunts love me – they send me shoes every chance they get.

Now thanks for being able to earn some dollars, even if I have big feet, I now have more shoes than I can ever use because I just stay home. And whenever I do get the chance to go out, it’s always to go to the grocery or run errands so flip-flops will do (they are still imported from Old Navy though :P Big feet comes with a price!) I did a little spring cleaning and need to get rid of about 7-10 pairs of shoes, including some nice Guess sandals I have not worn ever.

But who else has size 11 feet like me?!
