Im extending the AWK3: Halfway There entries up until Wednesday next week as I understand it would take longer than usual for us to do a round up. So far, there have been 11 ladies who have joined (Please leave me a comment if you did as I sometimes forget the pings to my blog with this topic - hindi ko kayo nasasali). Thanks ladies. AWK4 prompt will be up tomorrow (or tonight if sisipagin ako gawin ung akin).
And now Im going to be out of this blog working on other projects.
Have a happy Hump Day!
How’d your first six months go? And what are you looking forward to the next six months?
I figured that a half-year roundup will do all of us good - it will make things easier by December when we do a lookback, right? Here’s what I did, I posted my roundup month per month, with an equivalent word (I planned this for scrapping year end month to month memories), and posted some highlights per month (your blog will come in handy here). If it’s too tedious for you, you can just list some memorable things/accomplishments/disappointments that you remember or do the survery I snagged from Glo (which you can see below - Im a sucker for these things I did it as well). If you have your Things To Look Forward To or resolutions from last January, link that as well. At the end of your post, please tell me what are the things you look forward to with the remaining months of the year (Masyado atang kumplikado to no? Hehehe - You will thank me for this!)
Here is mine. I had my Fearless Forecast for 2008 - to which Im proud to say, are almost 40% accomplished.
Here are my goals for the rest of the year:
1. Lose weight.
2. Find balance between work, kids and studying.
3. Focus on what is important.
As you can see, I have decided the rest of the year is going to be all about ME. I realized how can I take care of my family if my own person is out of whack? And I have to confess this is one area Im really really weak - Im so inspired by Jen. A little trivia: She got worried about her health when she read I had PCOS and she just did the 360 turnaround and did the lifestyle change - 34.8 lbs lighter!! Imagine if I was just as motivated when I learned I had PCOS! (HAHA!)
HALFWAY THERE:
**Linking has been a tedious task so Ill go from memory. After I write and publish this, Ill link as soon as I find a related blog entry
January: TRYING TO STAY AFLOAT
Sometimes you just have to take the leap
and build your wings on the way down.
(Yobi Yamada)
The year started out not great at all. Our trusted yaya didnt come back after her supposedly Christmas vacation and the super good maid that replaced her had diabetes and high blood pressure that we needed to let her go. We had to let Martha go with my parents as I still had to work. This month was not good health wise as well - I had PCOS, a high BP scare, Martha was diagnosed with Primary Complex, Matthew had hearing loss which suggested surgery as a solution (which we didnt push through with). Edil turned 29 and spent his birthday in Baguio at a work conference.
February: SURVIVING
With no maid, Matthew was alone for at least two-three hours at home while waiting for either me or Edil to arrive. He was also forced to take the school bus (he didnt want to) and would cry the first two weeks upon arriving in an empty house (this was very hard to take). He would eat what we would prepare ahead and do his homework alone. Weekends were spent in Cavite because it was so expensive bringing Martha to Manila (gas-wise). I turned 27, and ordered G as a gift to myself for all the hard work Ive made the last year. As it is being the love month, my relationship with Edil was blooming.
- little acts sent me over the moon.
Extras: New phone. Celebrating 5 years with PS (I still havent received the watch,by the way). Coffee Prince and Papa Yoo.
March: THRIVING
The main highlight was, bar none, Matthew’s achievement in school. I also made a drastic move and cut my hair! I was also in between everything - my job and quitting. Moving or not. CHANGE was looming. And I was SCARED.
Extras: Twitter, Gong Yoo and Coke Zero were insanely addicting. MBAP Meeting!
April: CHANGE
April na! Packing and waiting for packages to arrive. Proving to myself that Im a rabid certified fan. MOVING IN. Learning the hard way. Leaving work. Settling in. Trying to survive.
Extras: Getting SUN-ed. The Men Hunt Tag.
MAY: EXODUS
Martha turned two. I became a SAHM. New schedules with the kids. Settling in (well, trying to anyway). Great discoveries about my kids - I can talk to them all day. Struggling with online work. More life lessons.
Extras: So many cute highlights about my kids ~ cant enumerate them one by one. May in Pictures.
JUNE: NEW LIFE.
June 8, 2008
Tres ~ rubber and wire. Matthew started school. Father’s Day. The kids get healthier and are really blossoming under a mother’s care. And while I sometimes crave for me time, I cherish everyday I get to have the chance to take care of my kids.
Extras: June in Pictures, started Week in Pictures and Weekend Snapshots

Aggie Wants to Know#1: Married Life (The Recap)
Posted on Jul 16, 2008 under Aggie-Tags-U | 8 CommentsRecap to AWK1: The Married Life
First of all, thank you to all those who have posted their thoughts on married life. There were 18 women who have given me some wisdom, enough for me to learn more along the way. I appreciate it sooo much that I decided to make a minibook of all the advices for my kids. It is still a work in progress - but trust me, it is something I love doing already!
I decided to highlight some of the things I LOVED while reading your posts, I strongly suggest you read everyone’s entries because there might be some points they have written where you will get more from
I especially like the entries that were written by the 2 Joys
— Joy and Dzoi. Joy’s post is something that has brought tears to my eyes and affected me so much - read it first! Special mention to Em because she might just have summarized everything sa haba ng entry nya LOL - I actually like the “Be a mistress to your husband” line
Here are the wives’ entries - thank you so much from the bottom of my heart (walang etching yan promise).

We are on our second week! Roundup to Week 1 coming in a few (just waiting on a few people to finish their entry - ehem ehem!)
This was inspired by Mich’s Wednesday Happy Thoughts! Im now going to participate on her blog every Wednesday but decided to make this light and easy for everyone this week, we all need a breather and have time to refocus on what is important.

No one is allowed to be negative today!
What are your Happy Thoughts? No limits, no requirements, just tell me hap-ee thoughts today! (I need it!)
This is not a thankful post - I just need thoughts that make you happee!
Please feel free to snag the Hap-ee Rainbow there too

My Hap-EE thoughts:
The INTERNET! It makes me sane, gives me something to entertain myself, helps me make and keep in touch with friends, makes me earn money right in the comforts of my home.
My little precious kids - oh yes, I think Im going to see this in every tag here
But to be specific: Matthew not getting sick at all and my mini-me potty training so well. Im so proud of them! I keep seeing Matthew’s face when he said, “bye Mommy love you” on the way to school and Martha yelling for me ‘etchup!
My dear husband - he has proven me wrong. He can provide for us and more.
My parents who never fail to rescue me when I need something from them. My mom went for a visit yesterday and then came back because Martha ran out of water.
My maids. Seriously. I can get kunsume with them all the time but hey, I get to sit on my butt, and not worry what to cook - all I do is take care of my kids’ needs. I need to be hap-ee with them.
For the color pink, Dewberry biscuits and Nike Rubbershoes.
For the Dora SoundBook my aunt just gave to my daughter - I can work in peace for now.
For my pink mouse - it makes scrapping easier.
For my back pay and Kenneth Cole watch arriving next week.
For people who read my blog and link me up. Google has been loving me lately.
And these things make me deliriously happy lately: Early paypal payments, Twitter and Shrek. They give me money, connect me with friends, and more.
Shrek - thank you keeping my princess company.
And oh, I will never forget Chowking Halo Halo

Topic No. 1: Life After the Wedding - the Married Life.
What are the things you want them to know about life after the wedding?
(Serious naman tyo this week, next week na yung kwela!)
We celebrated three years of married life last Tuesday. We weren’t together. We didn’t celebrate. (In fact, he really forgot about it!!! Isang mortal sin! LOL) He left a comment on my blog post, but heck, too late, diba?
And as I’ve said:
We celebrate three years of married life today. And while I cannot really say it has been three years of wedded bliss, I would not have it any other way.
What really is life after the wedding? The marriage part. The married life.
What are the things you would like to tell women who like to get married? To be honest, I was so caught up in wedding preparations and envisioning my “dream wedding” to be able to envision (and prepare) for life after the wedding.
The first year was a NIGHTMARE! I wanted out, and felt like I married a stranger (sounds familiar, anybody?). Parang gusto kong iluwa yung sinabi ko nung speech namin, “We promise you, we will make this marriage work.” But then, thanks to the sandamakmak ng guidance from our parents, their prayers and their occasional referee-ing, we are now OK. Far from GOOD, but we are obviously way better than before.
So….
If Martha is to marry, Id expore her to hardcore real-life marriage facts.
1. Marriage is no fairytale. It doesnt really end with happily ever after. You work for your happy endings (the two of you).
2. You get married not to make you whole. You enter it as a whole person already. (same as with relationships) Two whole persons get united, and they become A third person - that’s the married couple.
3. As with Number 2, you are your own person. Never cease to grow ON YOUR OWN.
4. Make time for each other, especially when kids arrive.
And this may get personal, you know, but what the heck:

See a new page and a button on my sidebar? Yes! I finally did it.
I want to give myself a pat in the back because this concept has taken me FOREVER to implement. Blame it on real life, procastination and plain old katamaran
I just hope this will be as well-received as my first two tags. (Big G tells me my most searched keywords are Gong Yoo and Diether Ocampo, go figure!) But honestly though, it has been fun to go around blogs seeing their answers. I hope I can give you guys some things to laugh about, know more about, and maybe, learn from as well.
OK. Tama na ang segue.
Off to do the first official tag
Technorati Tags: Aggie Wants to Know!
I got this great idea from Yen, and ever since the Men Hunt tag, Ive been wanting to do another crazy round of tags that will entertain everyone :). I think this is it (I advertised this on Twitter, and found a lot of great blog posts already).

Now, onto the comedy hour, este, memory lane
Let’s start the show with me at my very first birthday. I was cute - but you can see I had no traces of being a (big) girl.

You wouldnt even know I was born with curls if I didnt post this picture!

When I went to my Wawa for a vacation, she cut off my Goldilocks curls. My mom was livid. My curls didnt grow back. I dont know if I should be thankful for Wawa for that

As you can see, I was kikay back then. That red lingerie was my fave dress, and it was bought at the SM Dept. Store - I actually wore it as often as I see it my cabinet. My mom told me I told her that I am sexy when I wear that. (Me landi na talaga, bata pa lang :))

I so love twittering - it can really be more of like a chatroom at times but there is no pressure to really talk all the time. You just blurt out what you want to talk about and BOOM, all sort of reactions and answers are given. Say this tag for example, this all started at Twitter when Joy narrated her kiddie dream about fighting over TJ Trinidad with Alpha, LOL. Then all talk about yummy men pushed through and I thought “This should be a blog post.”
So it is
Here’s mine (all pictures clickable to bigger files):
(The tag should be Men Id like to Sleep with but it seems inappropriate for a Mommy Blog!)
1. Gong Yoo.
Who doesnt know my Gong Yoo addiction? He still is a staple in my dreams LOL. I really dont know what actually made me like him but this one is a keeper. Tipong sya ung pwede kong ikwento ke Martha paglaki nya katulad ng pagkwento ng Mommy ko sa akin ng pagkagusto nya ke Robert Redford and ng Tita ko ke Elvis Presley. Ganun katindi, hahaha.
My longest running crush. I liked him when he started out because he looked too much like Edil but when he buffed up his body I liked him even more. Most women actually find him distasteful which is fine with me because I can keep him all to myself
LOL.
3. Milo Ventimiglia.
Oh gosh, those eyes kill me everytime :).
There are more, but those are my top three.
Ill leave the others for you guys to blog about!
{begin copy}
It’s up to you how narrate your stories but there are two rules: 1.Post pictures (I want to see what is all the hotness about), 2. Keep the linky linky alive
(Tip, highlight the text which has links, right click and choose View Selection Source and just copy the HTML). Link the post where you wrote about the topic so women can find more drool-worthy men. (You might need to publish and then edit the entry first)
List:
1. Aggie
Tag all the people you want!
Tagging Joy, Litzie, Vannie, Thea, Buge and all the Twitter friends who participated in the discussion
{end copy}
