We had an extraordinary, blessed Lenten season last week. It has been a long time since we got to complete and attend all Holy Week activities and take an active participation towards it – from the Pabasa, Washing of the Feet, 7 Last Words, Easter Vigil and Salubong.
It was a bit bittersweet as well, because during Holy Week, my Lola was struggling at the hospital due to chronic renal failure. The timing pulley was perfect though, because she finally had peace on the day of the Risen Lord, Easter.
April, even if it is not over, is now the month to beat this 2012. So much learning, so much love, so much blessings – mixed with sadness and yearning – but I love how much I am LEARNING all throughout everything.

We were invited to the 7th birthday party of a friend’s daughter over the weekend and the theme was a rockstar concert. Marts was over the moon during the party – she really enjoyed herself. She was participating in the games, running all over the lighted stage that I wanted to strap a Bell Star helmet in her head and even danced when the Jive Band started a mini-concert.
Upon reaching home, I was so tired that I voiced it out loud. Marts replied:
“Ma, ako hindi ako tired. Ah-sum yung party eh, love ko yung dancing dancing!”
This is the first time I ever heard my daughter use the word “awesome”. (I believe this is the effect of therapy, AND the fact that the party was really indeed awesome!)

Today was Matthew’s Recognition Day at school.
And boy was he recognized! He was: 4th Honors, Best in Science, Math, English, Religion. Best in Extra-Curricular Activities. English-Speaking Award and Journalist of the Year. Edil went up to the stage 9 times! WOW. In addition to that, he received certificates for participating and placing in the Math interschool contest and for joining the DSPC (this is a contest for school’s newspaper clubs).
We are so proud of him! We hope that he continues this streak until he finishes college. Online degree completion programs are also an option for him if he wants to pursue more studies and even Masterals. The sky is the limit. Education is the only gift that we can give that will outlast our years. We know we should make it count.

Too much going in our household right now that all my blogging plans and to-do’s need to take a backseat. Need to do a bit of living and making memories around here. However, the kids are on vacation, officially, but they go back for one more day for the announcement of honor students. It is hot and the little one is begging for a swimming pool so she can swim all day. Too bad we don’t have space for anything for more than a batya
.
1. Kids officially on vacation.
2. Catching up on Project Life. I am now on week 10 (which makes me only a week behind).
3. Awesome weekend at the Shrine.
4. Another basketball tournament for Dad to join and us to cheer in.
5. Sibling bonding last weekend (Army Navy + Dance Central)
6. Medicines working.
7. Choc-ful of Martha-isms again. I thought we were officially done with that stage!
8. Good family picture for March
9. More workload. This means we have money for the influx of expenses that comes with summer and enrollment.
10. Grey’s Anatomy and TVD are back!
In other news I am trying to decide whether to throw a party for Martha, complete with led lighting backdrop or just forgo and just go on a swimming party. My parents will not be here on her birthday so we need to make other plans. That and the closest weekend to Mart’s birthday is again, Mother’s Day!

1. Summer is here. While I am not a big fan of the heat that comes along with it, I am excited for the kids’ vacation and the activities we do during summer. Maybe we can even celebrate with a BBQ party and bust out a charcoal grill for my daughter’s birthday party!
2. Leyte trip.
3. Dear daughter is finished with year-end exams. Now we wait for school to officially end.
4. The new iPad.
5. New TV addiction: Junior MasterChef Australia and the Voice.
6. Chowking and Razon Halo Halo
7. Opened bank accounts of the kids.
8. Steady work
9. Inspiring times ahead.
10. Steadily losing. Though I’d go on detox first thing next week after the trip. Cravings are starting to kick in again.

time: 7 minutes to 2PM
location: my workstation
eating: none. craving for some mean bananaQ though.
drinking: water. water check as of today: 2.5L. half way.
loving: my curls.
loathing: the blaring sun. thankfully it is not too hot for now.
wondering: if I will get paid tonight. i NEED the money!
wishing: I can finish all work for the week tonight.
creating: Project Life inserts – catching up on weeks 7&8
thinking: of the expenses in the upcoming months. me hopes I can hit some big pot of gold with every rainbow I see everyday (the Shrine has the most beautiful and frequent rainbows ever). other than that, i should just work harder, maybe even get into bundling already.
