My son is turning ten in December – TEN, would you believe? I would love to think that he will not venture into hip hop clothing soon but I am planning a little surprise for him since we didnt really give him a big party when he was 7. (Dont we have a tradition of throwing thanksgiving parties when the kid turns 1,7 and 18 for girls and 21 for boys?)
I plan to give him ten gifts and these are among them:

I am so happy I was able to scrap last Monday and Tuesday. Even if I had some tasks to do like prepare our grocery list, arrange my new table and take stock of the current inventory our bath vanity, I knew I needed to do this for myself, to do something I want to do and stay clear away from work for a change. I was able to produce three albums – two for Matthew’s quotable quotes. I personally cannot wait to give it to him on his 10th birthday!

Here are my parents who are turning 60 in a few weeks (Dad just turned 60 last Sunday), don’t you think they are aging gracefully? You would even think they are not a day above 60! Of course they would not look good in sexy costumes for Halloween but they look regal, happy and fulfilled in their age. I wish I can look as young, especially like my mom!

It was my first time to taste a cake from Estrel’s. We gave it to our Dad for his birthday last weekend. Since we just ordered it on the day itself, we had to settle for the vanilla caramel cake instead of the famous mocha caramel (I heard those need reservations a day before). It was very light, fluffy and I cannot believe the roses were butter with caramel fillings!
I didnt take anything home as I know I will just be eating all of it while I study a document management software for work!

My dad is now a senior citizen, having celebrated his 60th last weekend. We threw a simple party for him and we are so happy so many people came. He didn’t receive many material gifts like mbt shoes but I am sure he has felt the love from people who traveled many hours to be with him. It was a two-day celebration and it was nice to be with family and be surrounded with SO MUCH food!

After having a wonderful weekend with family (it was my Dad’s 60th birthday), I woke up late on a Monday! It feels so good to just sleep in and laze around all day but there are lots of work that need to be done, including recommending spa covers for a friend’s new business. I want to be able to cover a lot of work today as I am also itching to scrap and work on albums. Christmas is coming and I want to give something good to my family!

…stays together?

Given the husband’s crazy work schedule this month, I try hard to make sure he spends the most time with the kids as much as possible, even if it means going out on a weekday. That is why we really try to maintain our “hummer”, as its repairs are not as expensive as rv repairs. We need a vehicle so we can go places.

Our reliable hummer always always doesn’t start when we want it to. Given it just rests for five days a week and only gets driven 2 days in a row, I consider it a grave injustice to my family that he requires more than my kids to maintain! (Can you tell I am really frustrated?) Right now, we might just need rv towing services or the husband needs to change its battery. So all the overtime hours he worked so hard for will just go to a new battery for the hummer.
*sigh*
