Apparently, I won’t need to buy my kids equestrian apparel, a pool will do. My kids are natural fishes! When we went swimming last weekend, they stayed in the pool for hours, only getting up to take a relief (pee) or when I force them to eat. Otherwise, they would be swimming from dusk until dawn, literally. They aren’t afraid of drowning too. They refuse to swim with lifesavers on!

We went to one of the best resorts in Laiya, Batangas last weekend – Acuatico. I booked our reservations last week of March after Edil and I talked about taking the kids out to an outing, just us family, so that we can fulfill a promise to our son. We decided to hold it near Mother’s Day and Martha’s birthday so it will be an all-in-one celebration and Edil can take a longer leave from office.
We were not disappointed. I know the kids will love this basing from the pictures posted by friends who have been there. Even the husband would want to go back just because he can kayak again. Plus, the guests are controlled so you can really enjoy everything without intruding in anybody’s space – if you know what I mean. (Trust me, I sported a tankini and I wasn’t even conscious walking around in it).
The room we stayed in was small but the layout design and modern office furniture more than made up for it.

From their site, here are the amenities:
Modern Balinese-design villas with rooms carefully angled to give guests a spectacular view of their choice: the mountain or the sea. Each room is fully furnished.
o Deluxe guestroom amenities & toiletries
o Wall-mounted 32” LCD television with satellite system
o IPOD docks with Alarm Clocks in selected rooms
o Air Conditioning System
o Multi-point water-heating system
o Telephone system
o Resort-wide wi-fi internet access

We went to our Batangas last weekend to celebrate Mother’s Day and Martha’s birthday as a family. Since where we are going to is quite far, we decided to rent a van to make sure we can be as comfortable as possible and that Edil doesn’t get tired from the loooooong drive. Besides, our vehicle is not fit for long travelling anyways. Its registration and auto insurance is up next month so it’s another thing we need to prepare for on top of its much needed trip to the casa for maintenance.

We went to our first (and at the rate summer is coming and going) and only summer trip as a family last weekend. It was a promise we made to our eldest that we go on a swimming trip to the beach after he wanted to go to Boracay. It was also our first time to go on a trip as a family exclusively.
My kids were so excited that the night before the trip, Matthew, as expected, could not sleep. He was tossing and turning and soon his allergies acted up. He was so excited the morning of our trip that he barely touched his breakfast (Martha had milk) that during our looooong drive to Laiya, Batangas he barfed. Yes, he did!
We took the Talisay road as it was shorter than going the SLEX way and it’s a long and winding (and very steep and curvy) road. Our trip took three hours and the kids were famished.
And no joke, this was at the end of Batangas. It was my first time and even if we live nearer than Manila, it was still faaaar. Nevertheless, the kids got so excited upon seeing the Acuatico sign. (I would not need a oximeter to know that they were so excited – I can tell from their OOHs and AAAHs and the way they ran into the pool looking as if they wanted to dive with their clothes on).
