Archives for 2008 Week at a Glance category

Happy Hump Day!
Im just now updating my blogs as I had such a long but nice weekend. Monday was a holiday so Edil got to stay home. And he was nice enough to let me sleep and read and sleep and read all the time.

Saturday was spent at Matthew’s school again for Edil’s basketball game. He really is out of shape (like me) and I kinda miss his game when he was really physically fit. However, that didnt stop his kids from being his No. 1 fans.

Everytime their Dad was in the game they would cheer loudly. Martha would even shout, “Daaaaaaa!!!!!!!!” Super nice tignan. In fairness, their team is really really good. Im no basketball fan, but I cheer (meaning scream shout, stand up and wave my hands) whenever they have a very nice pass or shot. Galing galing.

After Daddy goes to Manila to work, our life transforms into one very ordinary family, sans the daddy.

Monday after Matthew gets home, we do homework, they eat merienda (Well, I also eat — so I think I need Apidexin already) and watch TV, play the computer and read. In between, they play, they play roughly, one cries, the other screams or in simpler terms, they fight. They can be adorable though when they are in harmony, which happens around once in about 200 possibilities.

You know why they really dont get along well? Because Martha is complete control freak who thinks she is the big sister (ahem, sounds familiar) and Matthew is just one fellow who loves to tease (when Im not looking) and cry wolf whenever his sister cries. I have to admit Martha is really at fault around 80% of the time. She is madamot with everything when it comes to her Kuya – her toys, the TV, heck even the sofa (Matthew sits at the floor to watch TV can you imagine). Whatever Matthew is doing, she needs to be doing it too. It can be a great way to trick her into doing something, like drinking her vitamins, but in all other areas, it’s one great pain in the a**.

on a Wednesday! Better late than never :D

We went to Matthew’s school to get his report card and since he was an achiever we went to Teriyaki Boy (his choice) to treat him out.

Martha and Matthew wanted to eat using chopsticks:

I will blog about the ice cream soon. I just want to post pictures from my Mom’s birthday lunch last Friday. Weekend recap to be posted tomorrow (para meron naman akong iblog). There are a lot more at my Flickr – it’s just friends’ only though)

Family Pictures:

  • Ate at Yellow Cab. My kids ate pizza like they eat spaghetti. LOL
  • I finally saw Massimo’s. Quaint little house. My Mom requested for their homemade pistacchio ice cream which is a whopping hundred bucks per scoop. Count the number in our family and that’s how much we paid for ice cream LOL
  • Went to Robinson’s Supermarket. I can definitely see us going there every week. Goodbye Waltermart for groceries! LOL. Nearer eh.

Hope you have a great weekend!
Watch out for:
1. More pictures – Massimo’s and Robinson’s
2. Weekend Recap with Edil (He came home).
3. Some good news.

Gotta space them ya’know :)

No Coke.

Since Monday.

Do I get a hip hip hooray for that or what? And yes, I have not drank Coke and I am at my parents’ house, zen for Coke Addicts :) There is a story behind the miracle. My Mom read a health article update in Yahoo! saying the soda is a cause of tension headaches and migraines and possible cancer in the future, so guess what? Boom. No Coke. She would tell us not to drink it everytime there is Coke in the house. Im trying to limit the kids *especially Martha* from it so this cannot be a better time. Martha drinks more water. Of course, once she sees juice (orange, iced tea or calamansi), shed prefer it but it is way better than Coke. It’s a good thing for me as well so I dont need to take Orovo *wink*.

Little Update

I don’t even have pictures to share. Bummer. We have been staying here at my parents’ place since Tuesday night – it was perfect timing because my mom needed me to do something for her AND we have no food at the house :D . It also is good because the weather here has been cold (I will not use the word “terrible” because I can handle it, but most people who visit here go home with runny noses after) and with a storm coming, it has been perfect bed weather.

I have been busy being busy and Im struggling with Martha’s bed time schedule. She naps at 7PM, wakes up at 11PM and sleeps at 4AM to wake up at 1PM the next day – I know it’s bad for her, but even if I try to keep her awake until 10 (no naps) she really sneaks in a wink and a nap of 30 minutes is enough to recharge her – it is driving me crazy. She has lost a lot of weight and from the looks of her pale skin, she needs iron too :( . I bought a lot of vitamins for the kids because it is flu season and with Christmas coming soon I dont want to get them sick anytime soon.

Literally.

What a way to start the week. Let us just say certain people have broken my heart and disappointed me a lot today. However, it is Monday. And Monday means a new week, a new start and heck, it’s November!! One more month and my favorite time of the year is coming again – Christmas :)

So the only thing that can help me survive the week is thinking happy thoughts. And happy thoughts on my head usually are just these: good food, me time and my kids.

And my kids made me very happy last Saturday. See, madali naman ako paligayahin eh, bigyan mo lang ako ng magandang pictures :)

Halloween story and the reason behind Matthew’s ordinary costume coming up later.

I need to prepare Matthew for school.

Boo!

Happy Halloween!
It’s officially November 1 on my side of the world so I guess trick or treating is done and dealt with.

So what have we done yesterday?
Nothing :)

Matthew wanted to go to school because he was part of a Marian Quiz Bee (all about Mama Mary) even though I was telling him not to join so we can go trick or treating at the mall (There is a different story about that, remind me to talk about it later). I slept late because my mom asked me to do some layout spreads for a souvenir program and me and Martha slept in until 12NN.

Oh, we actually did something.
We pigged out again :)

My Dad bought ice cream (perfect excuse for eating sweets when he is a diabetic when his grandkids are around), my Mom asked for bananacue to be cooked, there was suman sa lihiya given and very delicious meals (inihaw na tilapia and sinigang na baboy for lunch, ampalaya with eggs and porksteak for dinner).

With all the eating Ive done, I need the help of the best diet pills around to let me lose weight for the holidays!
