A lot of people love to design and maintain their own garden. Aside from providing them with a worthwhile hobby, a garden can also be a very appealing addition to your home. The question is what plants or trees can you put in your garden? While most small plants are good enough for any garden for as long as the climate is appropriate for it, trees can be a little bit tricky. While some may prefer Pomegranate trees or Fig trees in their backyard, palm trees are also great options. Below are some of the reasons why.

·         No raking. If you hate raking leaves then a palm tree is the perfect tree for you! Discarded fronds of palm trees can be easily picked up and put in the trash, and you only have to do this every once in a while.

·         Low maintenance. There is no trimming, very few pests, minimum watering, and no fuss in maintaining a palm tree. You just basically plant it and chances are it will sustain its own existence.

·         Any soil will do. If your house is situated on a land where the soil is not so good, then you do not have to worry because a palm tree can survive and grow in most soil types.

·         Lots of choices. You do not have to limit yourself to one type of palm tree because there a lot of different kinds of palm trees. They come in all shapes and sizes and you could easily pick one that fits your requirements and preferences.

Living in the suburbs has made me appreciate the importance of having trees around the house, and in the neighborhood. We live in a tropical country where summer seasons are worst, and yet even if it gets too hot, the heat becomes bearable because of the trees. There is fresh air and it is not as humid like living in the city.
