image Because of the long travel time to my in-laws’ place, we seldom get to visit Edil’s side of the family, as much as we want to. But we were very happy that we were able to plan a get-together last month, as the last time we saw each other was when got together last New Year’s Eve. Getting together seems as elusive as getting Branson tickets during peak season.

Out of the 7 siblings Edil has, there are only two left in Manila. With his parents also out of the country, it takes a while getting used to only having a group of 6 people with 7 kids together – we usually are a group of 15 adults with almost 20 kids :)

What is great about it is the kids love to be with each other even if they seldom get to see one another. Martha is always ecstatic to be with her cousins (and she actually remembers their names – something that lets you know that she holds them dear; Martha is bad at names like me.) Matthew always wants to stay longer. I treat my sisters-in-law like family and well, they make the best dishes too. I always pig out when I’m there!
