Insuring Yourself: Get Cheap Insurance
Posted on Aug 30, 2010 under 2009 Week at a Glance | No CommentI have a confession to make. I am turning 30 next year and am not even insured. Our family doesn’t have any type of insurance coverage to its name. I cannot give a concrete reason why we don’t have one, but I think it maybe attributed to the lack of awareness that insurance comes with a high price and that cheap insurance coverage doesn’t exist.
Like most people, we haven’t given that much thought to protecting ourselves (our kids most especially) and our assets against other kinds of damage. Most people don’t want to think about what can go wrong, and avoiding insurance might make some people feel more secure by avoiding pessimistic thoughts. Nevertheless, it is very important for you to protect yourself if you can afford it, and most people can find cheap insurance quotes for various scenarios like disability, death, illness and even cheap auto insurance.
I have realized this is extremely important especially since there are things, like death and disability, that is out of my control. I am not working so hard just to be able to provide for my family, I also want to secure their future in case I am gone. If for example we buy a house or secure a new car, why would I take on such a big and long-term commitment without protecting myself against possible bad scenarios?
