- We celebrated the mass of the Holy Spirit with the kids at their school on Friday. We went to eat at Matthew’s latest favorite place, Shakey’s and finally bought a cage for Scamp. With school starting, Matthew cannot tend to him full-time (picking up after his poop).
- Saturday, we went to the mall for one last hurrah of school supplies shopping. Everybody was there and it was crazy. Matthew and Edil watched Karate Kid while I shopped for Martha’s rubber shoes and missing school supplies.
- I finally decided to have Martha’s ears pierced – so she can finally use all the earrings given to her when she was a baby. I decided to have it while waiting for their bag tags to get made. She cried, partly out of embarrassment, but she didn’t complain of the earrings once she saw a cotton candy store. She was all grumpy and crying while walking and immediately stopped when she saw the cotton candy – she pointed and said, “Gusto ko yan.”
- Four years old and I’m having a hard time shopping for her! We bought her white rubber shoes with Velcro straps (less accident prone) and she was constantly saying NO to everything. She had no sizes with all the ones I wanted (I wanted plain white rubber shoes, no frills, no cutesy designs). The Hello Kitty shoes I wanted for her (It has a plain HK design on a scalloped wide Velcro strap) was no longer in her size. I let her choose – and she chose one that matches Rainbow Brite shoes – pink and purple with yellow stripes Velcro straps! OMG! I told her to choose from the white ones and she screamed, “No No No!!! Pangit yan all!! NOOOOOO COLORRRR!” I had to ask the security guard to stand by her side just so she can fit the one I chose for her (She is afraid of them hehe) – and she just stopped the moment she walked because surprise!!! It had lights. At this point I didn’t care if it had lights, I was getting very impatient with all the shoppers and the heat and everything else.
- When we met with the boys and I showed Matthew what I bought him, he told me “Ma pang boys yan e. Big kid na ako, baduy naman.” It took every last ounce of my patience not to throw a tantrum – hello, Matthew is very hard to shop for, his size is in between tweens and kids and all the bag tags for boys had cutesy designs (I settled for a Black Batman logo – black – safe).
Gosh, who knew shopping for my kids can be so hard.
At least I am done for this school year.Thank You Lord!
