Our little girl turned four last May 9,2010, the same day it was Mother’s Day! We had a simple get-together with my family and my siblings’ special someones (S/Os) and my Mom cooked the usual deal. She received little presents as gifts and I had it wrapped in small packages so it would look like she had many presents – kids just want the joy of opening up presents, really. She didn’t receive corsets but a lot of little nothings – sticker books, stamps, pencils, and a bag from her Ninang Glow.
We don’t have a toddler anymore – kinda bittersweet. I remember when she was 2 and I just quit working so I can take care of her. I used to think that I cant wait for her to grow up so I can go back and run after my dreams. And now she is four and I feel like two years are just too short for me to soak her all in. Next year I am sure I won’t be the best person in the world for her, her hero and the No.1 Mom. But for now and until that happens, I’m going to spoil myself with her endless “I want my Mommy” and “Mommy lang” whinings (Yes, I promise, even if I am so busy and she shouts at her Ate Caren when does the no.2 and tells her, “Ayaw ko sayo, si Mom lang!")
