There is an article on National News Today about fractional ownership real estate. Modeled upon time-shares, fractional ownership takes the practice one step further by fractionalizing the deeded titles of real property assets. As in time-shares, certain privileges are granted to the individual owners, such as the number of days or weeks allotted for using the asset, and it may also offer a proportionate share of income as well. Basically, In researching this subject I found that an investor can be partial or fractional owners without paying the full price. You are splitting the cost of ownership with a few others. You can invest in a jet, home, yacht, exotic cars, vineyard or condo. You can own a piece or unit of the property and share in this investment with 10 or more people. Fractional ownership saves people the cost of maintenance, landscaping, rentals, and insurance. I would consider this a good deal. You stay on the property you own for a specified time throughout the year; a fraction of the time but the whole property. Now you can own that beachfront vacation home – and since you are most likely to use that for only a few weeks a year, it would be better for you to set up fractional ownership on it as well.
