I was watching the news earlier today and it was reported that the effects of El Nino have been devastating, to think we are still at the start of the phenomenon. It is predicted to get worse, with temperatures rising up to 42C. Dams have reached almost critical levels and basic food commodities like rice and sugar prices are expected to go up. I saw fishponds have a lot deadkill already. One fishpond alone lost 10,000 fishes (tilapia). Can you imagine how life is in the city? The husband tells me he cannot even go out because the heat is unbearable. Most houses are firing up the airconditioners if they have one, which still has adverse effects on the environment.
