Plowers

January 19th, 2010

Who would love to live in metal buildings when you can live amongst greens and fresh air?

Plowers! (Yes, that’s how she pronounces it!)

Martha woke up with a great disposition today, I think the abundance of flowers we picked contributed hugely for that.

I love how I am still able to take pictures everyday! I hope I can finish until December!

Usually, whenever I work, Martha’s constant voice and singing and sometimes animal sounds serve as my radio. Around 7am today, it got scarily quiet, and I looked around and saw her reading (more like looking) her books. She must have finished all her Elmo books. As long as she doesn’t discover my romance novels and her Dad’s electronic cigarette – she can read all she wants!

Who still cooks a feast even if her son is 31 ( a few years down the road he qualifies to have rheumatoid arthritis already)?

Edil’s mom.

She called to say she wanted to cook for Edil and we braved five hours of heat and traffic to go to Valenzuela on a Saturday. I think Edil ate too much sinigang, inihaw na liempo, pansit, lumpiang sariwa and Charlie Chan pasta.

The wife of course took care of one thing – the cake and ice cream. When we were out buying it, Edil told me, “Surprise me ha!”

And I did.
The message on the cake read:
Happy Birthday Daddy!
Matanda ka na!

Hello Out There!

I admit it – Im the world’s worst blogger :) I will probably remedy that in the next 24 hours as I will be trying to write about what life has been for us since the year started. Two birthdays, one special occasion and numerous "This one needs to be scrapbooked!" moments have passed and not a single entry for me. Tsk, tsk. What can I say, I have been really, extremely, remarkably, significantly (I can’t stress that enough!) B-U-S-Y! I am now trying to finish work before I party with friends tomorrow while going over some cheap life insurance proposals.

Let’s begin!

Dear Aggie,

Your work should be an expression of My love to the world.  If it isn’t, you’re in the wrong job.  Or you have a terrible attitude towards your work.  Either way, you’ve got to change.

God

P.S. Hey, don’t worry.  I’ll help you, Aggie.

Sports Talk

Im not a sporty person. Ever since I was a kid, Id rather stay home, read a good book, play imaginary play than go out and get involved in sports. I guess I have a fear of anything that has to do with a ball. I grew up flat-footed and knock-kneed so I was really clumsy. I also wasnt able to learn to swim or even ride a bike. Such a sheltered life I have led, I know. When I was in grade school, I tried fitting in – I applied for the volleyball team, badminton team, even pingpong – but as Ive said, I have a hard time getting the ball to like me. I cant hit straight for the life of me.

Ok. Stop laughing now :)

It is a good thing I married a sportsbuff. Edil loves to play anything that can be classified as sports – basketball, volleyball, badminton, bowling, track. It helps that he is mighty good at it too. With Matthew, we are trying to expose him a little because he is growing up to be very bookish so I told him to pick on sports club he would like to enroll in (only one because that’s all we can afford). He picked taekwando. While Edil would prefer him to get involved in basketball (Believe me, he tried), I told him it is better than nothing. We would like to get involved in baseball too. Teamwork and strategy would be great. We are even willing to invest on baseball uniforms and Baseball Equipment! They are going to stored in boxes when they grow up, I can see that now. Wouldnt it be so nice to see those gloves grow bigger and worn out when the time comes?

But I will have different colors of belts. As Matthew is really intent on learning taekwando.

This is a sponsored post.

I have been so inspired upon reading this post that I thought I should do one myself every month. Luckily, even if I read this in February, I was able to take a picture of us last month.AVISOSJanuary

  • Edil has been going to the gym five times a week lately. It has been slowly beefing him up, which is good. I am noticing he doesn’t need to play Mafia Wars every time he goes home (or maybe because he can’t squeeze any playtime because I am always working). Give me three hours to play and he is done. He now finished one David Baldacci book a week, and I am really happy that he has discovered reading.
  • Matthew has been a little tween in the house, always being the one to make sure to answer back and reason out, politely or impolitely. You cannot see it very well in the picture but his PSP is hanging around his neck – if he can sleep with it everyday, he certainly would.
  • Martha has been drawing a lot lately, and has been keeping such odd hours sleeping. Her record breaking sleep time was recorded yesterday, at 9AM to 10PM! I had to keep her from napping today so she can sleep at a regular time. She loves Disney Princesses to a passion and often can be seen playing Sleeping Beauty with her Ate Caren.
  • I now have my hair at its longest, and I am itching to cut it off almost everyday. I need to schedule an appointment to have it curled – so I can be done with my curiosity if it looks good on me. If it doesn’t, I can always cut it naman, diba? I’m trying to be introspective lately and really try to know myself, after all, it’s my birthday month :) I also want to make sure I achieve things this year – momentous ones – before I turn 30. That may include silly things like getting an led tv, learn to drive or bike, or finally lose pounds since 2000.

Goodbye January.

And I can just be awarded the worst blogger – having had the entire month pass by without much of a significant update! Aside from not doing any green shopping (Online shopping has been dubbed green shopping because a recent study by Carnegie Mellon University’s Green Design Institute found that shopping online consumes less energy and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 35 percent compared to shopping at traditional retail stores.) I was really busy catching up with life. Seriously.

Here is a glimpse of what we have been up to. I committed to taking a picture of everyday of 2010 and hopefully I complete it. I already have completed January! Yay!
