Detoxification

January always seems to be a booming business for gyms, sports stores and workout clothing stalls. Most people want to start anew, lose weight, eat healthily, quit smoking, and just generally be healthier and more fit.

Good or better health remains to be the most aimed for goal in a decade of fast food and sedentary lifestyle. I should know because I have been aiming to lose weight for the past five years already and as you can see, it still remains to be a goal to be accomplished.

Most rehabilitation centers also get promising candidates for rehab, whether it be for alcoholism, drug addiction, smoking (and news has it Tiger Woods entered into rehab for his sex addiction as well – I didn’t know there was a rehabilitation center for that kind of addiction!).

Among addictions, the addiction to prohibited drugs bears the most consequences because it can easily be detected. Smoking, although considered to be a vice, is unfortunately generally accepted by the public as something normal, with 8 out 10 teenagers having experiencing smoking and 60% carrying the habit up until they grow into adulthood. Alcoholism is something that is hard to diagnose and catch on to, with only during the late stages being prone to discovery.

It is hard to get employment, apply for certain positions and visit destinations without passing drug tests. In the workplace, in an effort to discourage drug addiction, HR and management have gotten the approval by law to do random drug testing and you would need to pass drug test to be able to eligible for work, during screening and initial application.

You can pass drug tests with the help of The Detox Store. From hair, liquid, oral and saliva, they can help you pass drug tests with flying colors!

Exit Signs

Do not worry, I am still alive. I am just so busy with work and trying to clean up the house (never ending task) – throwing out stuff (every week we throw boxes and boxes and yet we still have that much clutter!) and now my tooth is acting up so I haven’t been blogging at all.

I have been to a lot of commercial establishments and sadly, some of them need to have their permits to operate suspended or revoked. In one building, which houses a day care center/school on the second floor, there were no exit signs on every floor. Can you imagine if there will be a fire or an earthquake? People will surely be in panic and they would not know where to go.

I clearly remember a fire tragedy that happened to a club back when I was in high school. A fire razed down the club during March, back when students were celebrating end of school and graduation. A schoolmate perished during the fire that night. Investigations show that the Exit Sign door was there – but it was blocked by the mobile equipment and speakers.

EXIT SIGNS should be prominently displayed and can be spotted even from a hundred meters away. Exit signs can be electrical or non-electrical. You might wonder what if there is an earthquake or fire, electricity is always the first one to get cut off, for precaution. Electrical exit signs made by Green Torch use long-life LED or LEC lighting technology while non-electrical ones use Photoluminescent or Tritium technology.

I personally would prefer using signs that use Photoluminescent or Tritium technology. For one thing, they don’t use electricity, so they are still bound to work even if electricity is cut off. Since there is no electricity used, there is no wiring, you save on electrician costs and what’s more, it installs in minutes. It qualified for energy rebates too, and is low maintenance because there are no bulbs nor batteries to discard and replace and you do not need to rely on generators and inverters.

I have blogged again and again how much our little house in the neck of the woods needs to have cable installed. I am so behind in news, trends and foreign sitcoms (not to mention MTVs – I used to be glued to MTV all the time!) that it’s embarrassing already. My kids need more educational TV than never ending Dora and Disney movies.

I am keeping my fingers double-crossed that we get to have one installed within the next three months, preferably before summer or else there is a chance I might really go insane. DIRECTV offers a package of $29.99/mo and DIRECTV Service offers DVR. How I wish that kind of technology will be available here soon. The quest of a Satellite TV Provider will end if only we have DIRECTV!

Martha was up awfully early today. She knew her Daddy will be coming home. She usually watches her movies during her early hours but today she was doodling and was awfully quiet. She then showed me this and told me that “I show my Daed Mom ok?” (I was too busy looking over life insurance quotes to properly see her drawing. But whern I did….

It also made me laugh – because my daughter surely knows our sizes. One look and you would know that the purple ones are girls, as she said and I’m the rolly polly one. The black ones are boys and she captured her skinny Dad perfectly.

I need this today.

Dear Aggie,

Don’t give up.  Life rewards those who persevere.

I promise you that if you don’t give up, ultimately, you will find that open door.  It has been waiting for you.

Your Door Opener,

God

P.S. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Aggie , I made you tough.

My Babies.

Here are my babies, grown and all. I’ve said before I really want two more kids, because I love a big family. It just equates happiness to me. But as I look back to last year, I realize my children are more than enough for us. I’m not saying we are done, because we can never predict nor see how many children God wants us to have, but I know in my heart, as of now, I need to focus on the two precious blessings that I have. My son is entering his tweens and is needing attention in a different way and my daughter is entering pre-school and it’s going to be a whole new adventure for her. I’m more scared for my youngest because she is a girl, and Edil even wants me to be the one to fetch her to and from school! (Super spoooiiiiiiled). Anyway, more on schooling in the coming posts.

If ever I do become pregnant, I promise (I dont want to promise because I never can really plan these things!) that I will be healthy (read: lose weight) and that I would take prenatal vitamins — as if my OB will let me :)

Gift of 2009

Finally, Matthew got his PSP last New Year’s:
268
It was reward for him for being such a god boy at school and for bearing with Martha all these times. Heehee.

So he basically does nothing but play with it, inside or outside the house.

(At home | At Starbucks)

No he doesnt play with it 24/7. He needs to charge it, you know :P . We just have one rule: Do not let grades suffer and be a good boy and it continues to stay with him even on weekdays. Meanwhile, the husband, as crazy as he is about getting a PSP of his own, just spends time in the gym working out (naks!). He told me to check out some supplements at http://www.proteinpowder.net and see if they are legit.
