It’s finally Friday! What a week this has been. I had computer trouble since last Sunday and it took all week for us to fix it – it still has not been fixed, the husband just had a temporary solution to it, so I am not back to normal just yet. I am trying to take it in stride though, as I will be gone away for a weekend. All things are on hold until next week. Maybe next week things will be better.
A friend of mine has sent me an e-mail though asking for a referral on a dermatologist. She needs urgent treatment for her skin because her wedding is just a month away. My sister has been going to this awesome dermatologist because she had rashes break out all throughout her body without her knowing the cause. It turns out she has skin asthma so she has so many topical medicines on top of the medicines she need to take orally. I referred my friend to the same dermatologist.
My sister’s rashes are now controlled but she is problematic about the scars they left behind. She was recommended to use the acne scar treatment by ZenMed.
It promises that:
In one simple 5 minute application, you will notice:
- Fading of Acne scars
- Fine lines diminish, skin appears younger
- Skin appears glowing and fresh
- Fine bumps disappear and skin surface is more even and smooth
After 3-4 treatments:
- Flaws such as Acne scars and hyperpigmentation gradually diminish
- Collagen levels are increased causing skin to look and feel more plump and alive
- Combination skin is balanced, dry rough patches are gone
After 8-10 treatments:
- Appearance of wrinkles is minimized
- Minor imperfections are diminished
- Acne scars appear lighter and less visible

I know I’m blogging for the first time since December started so Im entitled to say hello
I keep saying this again and again but life has been crazy busy but happy. It’s a little overwhelming, most especially when one’s hormones are overreacting but I try to keep myself in check and stay focused on what is important.
So what have I been busy with? Work mostly. I am trying to meet my monthly quota before Simbang Gabi starts so I can focus on Christmas really. We haven’t even shopped for the kids nor family members and relatives. Heck, I don’t have a gift for Edil as well. Personalized Jewelry is one option for relatives. We will see. We dont even have a Christmas tree up yet.
And here I am saying Hello December!

Christmas every year just gets better.
But then again, I was taught that it has always been a matter of perspective!

The husband and I have been discussing what our goals for next year would be – we aren’t getting any younger and the kids are growing up right before our eyes and five years into our marriage, we are looking at concrete proofs our hard work. We want security and would like to make sure our kids’ needs are taken cared of.
Next year we are focused on really saving so we can buy even a second hand car. Our dear old “hummer” would no longer be convenient for us as we will travel a lot and the kids have asthma whenever we go to the city.
We already have plans on what to buy. It’s not something I really want – because who wouldn’t want an SUV or a more expensive car? But as long as it will make travel comfortable for us and will not be hard (read: expensive) to maintain, it will do for now.
The 2010 Acura MDX is a dream though. The Car and Driver has described the acura mdx as "a tall wagon [that] is an all-weather hauler on the sporty side" and it will certainly please my maternal instincts having the interiors very comfortable and the husband’s manly desire to ride a sporty “handsome” vehicle. Its big V-6 is impressively strong and for such a huge car it is easy to drive (light). The acura also has good safety record and reputation for durability. READ: It doesn’t break down easily = less expensive.

I am continually amazed how far science and technology has become to what it is today. Before we would have to contend with thick eyeglasses to be able to see. Now, we have contact lenses to make things more convenient and have the chance to be fashionable despite of poor eye sight. These days, with the innovation of laser surgery extending to correct eye problems, it is possible to have the perfect 20/20 vision back.
Laser surgery has been around for years but it has just been slowly gaining acceptance in terms of eye surgery. Not many people have the confidence of entrusting their most precious eyesight to laser technology but with continuous improvement and great feedback (in addition to zero casualties), laser eye surgery has become the new way to get perfect vision. Boston Laser Eye Surgery for one, with Sam Melki MD PhD as its founder, is the leading eye surgery center for Lasik Surgery Boston procedures. Dr. Melki has performed over 6000 procedures to date and even authored two textbooks about laser eye surgery. He is a leading authority in Vision Correction Surgeries.
Their laser vision correction uses state of the art technology which maps out a blueprint of your eyes and then correct it with laser.

“Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT’S relativity.” ~ Albert Einstein
My son and I had a discussion on time and relativity last week. He is the type who asks what time is it every 15 minutes, especially when we are travelling. He asks what time he got up, how long is cooking time for his favorite dinner and would often keep the timer of a movie on so he can see how long the movie was. He wants to measure everything by minutes and admittedly, that’s one of his obsessive-compulsions: He needs to stick around a rigid schedule or else he would feel like the day is a complete waste of time.
So we told him we would give him a watch so he would stop pestering us each time asking what time it is – which then brought us to the question, how does one measure time? And when fazed with a question like that, how do YOU answer that?
Frequency Control Devices are what would have done the trick. Being the nerd that I am, I actually researched about it and found out that timepieces, like radios, need crystal oscillators which look like this:
These actually stabilize everything, making sure timepieces clock away every second without losing any beat.
And you might also be amazed to discover that these devices are used in computer peripherals, industrial instrumentation, oil drilling, geothermal, commercial space, LAN/WAN, optical networks, process controls, telecommunications and wireless products!

We were lucky that Edil said yes we can go to another party in Manila. See, it really is tiring for him because he is the one driving and he was work, night shifts during Saturdays. He hasn’t had any sleep since 7am last Saturday because we were with Matthew for his Communion rites. After the party, straight from work, he took us home (he told us to sleep in Dimasalang because the kids got so many loots (no, a Samsung HDTV was not one of them – how I wish though
) – more on that later) – so before anything else, konting sipsip muna ::P Thanks Daddy!
It was so sulit naman even if it’s far and Saturday traffic was at its worst
Mateo’s theme was farmtown and it was really executed well from the invites down to the decorations in the venue to the cake and giveaways:

Pictures from L-R: 1) Mateo gave away Animaland plush toys to kids!! W-O-W
Matthew got the yellow dog named him Bingo and Martha got a moose and named him Elliott (she just watched Open Season kasi) Side kwento: Now Martha is staking her claim over Bingo (She loves dogs diba sabi ko na she get the bulldog ayaw paawat eh) and tells Matthew Elliott is his, which drives the big brother insane. 2) Pig balloon, which is now hanging in our door
3) Lovely set up, so many balloons! 4) Walking animal rides, which Marts loved 5)Farmtown cake – super nice!

Last Saturday, November 28th, my son finally took his second sacrament – he was able to receive his First Communion. We treat this with very high importance as we try to practice going to mass every Sunday religiously.
As usual, I am thankful that his school hasn’t disappointed the parents – especially me. Weeks leading to their rites, we parents went to recollection plus the kids had one too before confession. We also were present during their recollection too. It might take a lot of time for us than required and I am thankful I get to be there for him even if his Dad couldn’t because of work. (Again, one more reason to be grateful for my work even if I am at a burn out).
We were there early as the school always starts on time. They were given their tunics with gold cross necklaces and the chapel was beautiful and well-ventilated. The priest who did the rites was just my age so he was really able to get down to the level of the kids to the point of being cool
. Matthew was the one who delivered the Thanksgiving message after. It was a beautiful event and I am thankful I got a babysitter for Martha that morning. All our eyes and attention was just focused on our firstborn (which rarely happens these days!)
Parents were requested to be in white.
Afterwards, we treated Matthew to his favorite eatery: Teriyaki Boy!
His Lolo gave him a cross necklace as a present:
Which pales in comparison to what we got him – a set of Archie comic books (hahaha!) – I should have gotten him something related to the event no? He wanted his own laptop but he doesnt stand a chance to owning one until he reached high school (after that he can even have an industrial computer if he wants – I dont want him being an internet addict so soon)
