Similar to what happened on 08.08.08, we celebrated this unique calendar year just the three of us.

Picture taken while we were chatting with the Daaed.

Notice Martha was talking. Special mention: We dont have web cam and mic. Si Edil lang me web cam.

Martha, upon seeing the Daeed, screamed, “DAAAEEEED!!!!!” and made waving waving hands. LOL. She quickly got upset because as she said, “Mom, Daed is not making pansin me! DAEEEED! HELLLOW DAEEED!!!” Nakakatawa talaga sya.

After 2 minutes, Martha was angry already:
”Dad no pansin me! Labas ka dyan! HMFT!”
And she hugged the monitor which turned the PC off. Hehehe.

TOTAL Chat time: 3 minutes LOL.
Edil needed to go to work na din.

And you know for once, my kids were actually BROTHER and SISTER for two hours straight – meaning, no cat fights. Thank you Moo-Moos. Kelangan lang pala nilang maging moomoo para magkasundo.

Mama Mary’s birthday was rainy cold day but thankfully, it didn’t stop us from hearing mass and attending a program for her.

And if you remember Martha’s cake eating post a year ago (Gosh! How time flies!), you wouldn’t be surprised if I told you she insisted that it was HER birthday and that she needs  BIRTHDAY CAKE.

She didnt want to believe it’s not her birthday and told me over and over again – it’s my birthday mom! mine!

So when I told her it’s Mama Mary’s birthday, she said, “Happy Birthday Ma Mary!”

What’s your present Marts to Ma Mary?
My birthday mom.
My birthday cake.

You can obviously see how very satisfied and happy she was that everyone finally agreed it was her birthday cake – you see, all she wanted was to blow a candle. and of course, devour a birthday cake. (The birthday cakes were not sliced until later so we had to settle for these cupcakes instead).

And proof that my daughter is like me:

Invitations Baby Shower Party

I knew it – at my age, almost all the women I know are trying to have babies or are planning to have their second baby. Most of them are on their way to baby number 2 in fact. I have been receiving baby shower invitation after baby shower invitation. Nothing beats the number of first birthday parties  we need to attend to though in October!

One mommy friend is eagerly awaiting the results of her pregnancy test so she can start thinking about baby showers and baby shower invites. It is quite amusing really as I don’t have plans of having baby # 3 – it is nice to live vicariously though them.

I have bookmarked the web site of Birth-Cards though as I know I will most likely need to host some of the shower parties in the near future. I love the service of the site as they e-mail me proof of the invite I have chosen within an hour and I get free shipping on my orders too! Visit http://www.birth-cards.com for more details!

We ate and ate and ate. Well, I ate and ate and ate.
And special thanks to my sisters who were there to keep my hands off my kids. It really was a welcome change.

My mom cooked our comfort food, my dad was a rich man because he had money to treat us to Teriyaki Boy (again & again & again – my sisters are such die hards for Jap food) wherein my son’s bill was 1/3 of our total. He ate wafu steak and tempura and mango shake and tasted my plate. I was actually letting him taste mine (sukiyaki beef teppanyaki) because it was cheap  so that he would order it next time. Hahaha. But oh my gulay, who wouldn’t be so eager to feed my kid when every bite he would say, “Wow, ang sarap Lolo! Ang sarap talaga!”. It’s like you have let him in a private feast. Even the brat finished the rice with sauce of her Ebi meal. While I, I discovered a new favorite. It’s asparagus wrapped with bacon and I can eat it everyday.

The Lowlo and the Lowla. Their birthdays are coming up next month. I need to make up to them big time. Hehe.

And to Tita Abbie, who my kids are fighting over. Martha follows her around like a love sick puppy. Like Tita Abbie gave her gayuma.

She even did not cry when I told her I’m going home because I need to work. She said, “Ok Mom, Bye.” Abaaaa. I need to have my laptop fixed so I can work when I’m at my Dad’s. Which is every day :) In fact, when Abbie dropped her off Monday morning so she can go to work, Martha cried. Like she lost a yaya. Ganown! (HAHAHA!) “Where’s Tita Abbie?” “She went to Manila na Babe.” “MOOOOOM, go to Monila, go to Tabbie, go to Daaeeed. Monila Moooooooom” and she cried herself to sleep. Wawa no?

3 weeks and counting.

It has been three weeks since we last saw the Daddy. I don’t know how parents can actually take care of their kids without their partners – it is hard, overwhelming, frustrating, lonely. Sometimes you can’t help but give in to self-pity. Most especially if there is no extended family to help – in my case, while I have doting parents who love their grandchildren to bits, it is an entirely different case whenever I am alone with them at the house. Maybe because it is different because I still need to work, moreso now because the Daddy hasn’t received his first paycheck nor has recovered his bonus. And maybe because like how I lamented to an online friend, “Nakakapagod at nakakaguilty din. Yung itatabi ko na lang sa anak ko para manuod ng TV kelangan ko pa tumayo para maghugas ng pinggan or magsaing.” OR as is the case these days, I am in front of the computer all the time. I actually welcome the change to go to my parents so I can sleep or read a book or simply eat (and eat) because when I’m at home, the house no longer is home – it becomes my office.

Sometimes I need to remind myself that it is really not all about the money. But if you are like me, one who has dreams and wants to be better, you know it sometimes has to be all about the money. I have made a couple of really bad, disastrous and shameless decisions about money before. All the money I had I don’t even know where I put. As my sister told me, I am making good money. Where was it going? I intend to change that soon. And of course, I want to have some tucked in for the holiday season.

So how has life been? The past two weeks I have been having such a good stroke of luck blessings that I can’t help but get nervous what will happen in return. (It always seems to be a health emergency!) I owe it all to a changed pace on prayer life. Really. This may sound baduy and unbelievable but it is true. And lest you think I’m always on my knees reciting some prayers I didn’t even write, far from it. I am talking everyday to the Man Up There. Every 5 minutes. Every 30 minutes. Simple questions. Why? Ano kasunod. Sorry. Salamat. Ikaw na bahala Ama. Tapos.

That’s how lonely I get sometimes, wala na akong makausap kung hindi Sya. And that is EXACTLY what He is trying to teach me through all of this. Pansinin ko naman daw Sya.

See, there is a good point hanging around FB sometimes. I read this post from Clarice (a fellow W@wie-turned-wedding coordinator) and was instantly floored.

Let me remind you today. You’re not gonna promise to each other that you will not disappoint one another. You will. At some point you will. What is important is you don’t go away, you don’t escape, you don’t leave one another because you were disappointed. That is the meaning of fidelity.

That was part of a homily the priest said during a wedding. The priest was Fr. Ed Africa.

Dots and Stripes

I remember when I got married, my chosen wedding theme was contemporary – think retro-ish pink and brown, dots and stripes. That’s the them of the Invitations Baby shower cards we are going with for a baby shower we are throwing.

The baby shower invitations were ordered online at Cards-411. A friend has been ordering invitation baby cards and more from the site ever since and she has been more than satisfied all the time. The quality is excellent, we get to personalize it because we can upload a picture of the mommy and we even got to see the preview with their Image Feature immediately.

Did I say we got 10 pieces of Thank You Cards with the free shipping they offer? Fabulous. Go to http://www.cards-411.com and browse their designs today!Printable Baby Invitations
