I already mentioned that I already have eyeglasses for computer strain. A friend gave it to for free and it has absolutely helped me spend more time in front of the computer getting work done without stressing my eyes. I am still thinking of getting the $ 8 Rx eyeglasses from Zenni Optical as backup glasses though. Just in case my kids break down my glasses and tear it apart:
Edil has been requesting for glasses too and he likes these nerdy glasses:
I watched a video called How You Can Start Spending Smart and it is true, you do not need to spend so much if you can spend less with equally fashionable items.
My favorite high fashion eyeglasses cost less than $10!

I’m a new aunt to a very beautiful (and big) baby girl! My niece was born last week and I’m very excited to see her! I have only seen pictures of her and she is a beauty!
Fortunately at this day and age of technology, communication and news travel fast. There would be no need for birth announcements done by traditional mail.
I still would ideally prefer getting baby announcements by snail mail, particularly photo birth announcements, primarily because it speaks of how much pride the parents have on their newborn child – announcing it to the world!
However, we need to be realistic here. It is hard to prepare and order announcement birth cards when the parents are overwhelmed with the new baby. That is why it is always advisable to pick out an card before giving birth and just order it after you have chosen a newborn picture to go with it. At Cards-411, you can have your cards printed and shipped on the same day! They give out 10 FREE Thank You Cards on top of FREE shipping as well. Make sure to check out http://www.cards-411.com!

Martha has been waking up early lately, as early as 5:30AM! It has severely affected my working hours but I am coping with it, it is better for all of us. We seriously need another TV, another computer or an XBox or Wii, hehe.
Earlier, Martha wants to watch a movie in the computer – “Garfield” (she pronounces it “GarPill”). It wont work on our DVD player so she watches it in the PC. I cannot compromise not working today because I need to update a client on the album I am working on (I havent started any pages and I have had the materials since Friday last week) and update some articles I need to submit.
So instead of telling her no and risking a tantrum first thing in the morning, I tried reasoning with her.
“Martha, do you want Mom to go to the office like Dad? Walang magtatake care of you, you like that? Mom needs to work, I work in the computer. You watch another movie na lang, pwede ba yun?
I was surprised when she nodded her head and said, “OK” and she just watched Pahaphooey Island instead.
A few minutes into watching the movie, she comes to me and tells me, “Mom, you work sa office, dun na me Ate Yahoo, ok?” (Ate Yahoo is a cousin)
”Naku, Ate Yahoo goes to school like Kuya eh.”
She makes an expression similar to this:
(Her Oh No! Look)
and tells me, “Umigosh, OK Mom”
Hehehe.

..has been fun, fulfilling, stressful but a great teacher. Why? I will cite two instances.
- Matthew had an assignment where he would draw “forgiveness”. He drew us together and he was saying “Sorry Mom” and I was saying “It’s OK Mato, just don’t do it again.” The catch? I was sitting in front of the computer. Really! Actually, he drew it pretty well. I need to take a picture of that soon.
- I wanted an excuse to take a break and I wanted to cuddle Martha while she was watching Lion King. I went to the sofa and snuggled and the brat goes, “Mooooom, no leeping, dun ka puter – work work work na you!”
So for the past week, since Edil is not here – I’m off the computer after lunch until after dinner while I just go back and forth while watching Darna, Rosalinda, Adik sa Yo and Survivor Palau. My backlog at work is growing – but I am learning how to handle my time well. I can now even afford to go out around 4PM to take pictures of the kids (and uhm..walk) hence I now have lots of pictures again.
I also have been trying to feed my mind by watching movies and reading Amazon books – I aim to watch a movie three to four times a week (but I am drawn to no-brainer, feel good movies lately, it is my way to destress after a long day) and finish a book within a week. Right now, I plan to read the Time Traveler’s Wife.
I almost want to say I am more productive when the husband is not around, but the kids miss him at night. Martha tells me every night, “Mom, where’s Daddy?”

There is no industry so much commercialized than the baby industry. Do you agree? I have given birth two times in the span of eight years and each year, there are new gadgets that come out that parents and babies “need”, totally changing caring for the baby. While most of them have been heaven sent for mothers and caretakers, like breast pumps, fashionable baby wearing slings, disposable liners for bottles, some of them are just invented to take money from parents who should just spend it for their baby’s vaccines and milk.
Each year, strollers are becoming more fashionable, compact, sturdy and lightweight. Ads even claim their stroller rods have been tested in the laboratory. It makes me think how much strollers are like cars these days – it makes them as expensive as well. I really do not have anything against it because I’m all for strollers – I personally would want them before I give birth because there are things babies need to be trained to get used to – the car seat, the crib and the stroller. My son didn’t like being in the stroller because we put him in when he was 6 months old – going around in the mall was such a pain because he was heavy. My daughter on one hand treats her stroller like her sleeping bed and car. When she is put in her stroller, she knows two things – she will be seeing things (going out) or she will be driven around to lull her to sleep. It has been very effective and easy for me.

Wow, can you believe it, we are only a few days away from the –ber months! Before you know it, it’s going to be the holidays again (my most favorite part of the year). Like how the song goes – It’s the most wonderful time of the year – it’s going to be extra special this year because there will be a lot of events starting as early as October and people close to our family will be coming home. I’m sure our days will be packed. I really should plan and think ahead of things needed to be done. I may need a few dresses, white dresses for me and the little girl, white polos for the husband and the big brother, maybe a cocktail dress for a formal party.
I think our weekends from October to December will be booked. I just hope we can make it to all the parties because it’s harder with Edil’s current work schedule. I also have been contemplating to take up an offer from a friend for a part-time job (20 hours a week) that will pay as much as I earned from my previous job. It’s really tempting. I just need to discern what would be best for my kids – and I need a maid!!! Please pray I find someone soon. Even if I stay at home, I need someone to help me watch over the kids. I can’t even go to the grocery without taking the kids with me – without Edil at home, it is harder.

It was a long weekend for everyone, Thursday and Friday being a non-working day because of a holiday declaration. Unfortunately, it was just an ordinary day for us because Edil had to be in Manila for work. I just made sure to have the kids entertained – so off we go to the Lolo and the Lola
Friday was the PTC for Matthew’s 1st quarter in school and I blogged about it already – he was top 2 in class.
Saturday Lolo and Lola had to somewhere else so I needed to entertain the kids myself. I indulged them in junk food and movies and virtually no computer time for me. And what was my reward? Pictures of the two of them! I realized I haven’t had pictures of them together at all since the year started. Last year, they had tons. It just goes to show how much my kids fight all the time
So cute no? I have more but I will just reserve them for future posts.
Sunday we went to Manila (it was so hoooooot, when it was raining hard just the other day – it makes no wonder why people are getting sick all the time – at least it’s not Asbestosis & Lung Cancer right?) to watch the Lolo sing in a concert and the brat was saying Oh Lolo Lolo all the time. We dropped by Becerra and Abbie treated us to Yellow Cab. I was gunning for Sbarro because helloooo, meron naman Yellow Cab sa Tagaytay but the Big Brother wanted Yellow Cab eh (it was a treat for him because he was top 2).

We also had the chance to be with Daddy because he couldn’t go home yet because of training at work. We hope he can go home this weekend. It’s tough because the little girl asks for him all the time. The first two days she was really crying and won’t sleep until 4AM. Last Sunday when arrived home, she started saying, “Mom, where’s Dad? I want my Dad Mom” then she cried again. Tough tough talaga.
