The princess turned three last Saturday! We just had a simple celebration at home, with only my sisters Abbie and Agnes as our guests.

She had so much fun “blowing the kan-del” (as she says) and we captured it in video too! You can go over at the husband’s blog to see the videos.

All week before her actual birthday, all of us would ask her, “Who’s going to have her birthday this Saturday?” and she would automatically say, “Mee 9” as if we were asking when is her birthday.

On the morning of her actual birthday, she woke me up and I greeted her, “Happy Birthday Marts!” She groggily told me, “Happy Birthday Mom”. I corrected her, saying, “No you lang!” She asked, “Me lang? No Martha lang. Happy Birthday Martha and Mommy eh.”

She took a nap while I cooked and when she woke up, it was party time. She refused to change her dress, as usual. It was a good thing Edil somehow managed to cajole her into dressing up.

She actually received a lot of gifts, thanks to Teetee Glow and her Mommy Faith. But the most favorite gift was one given by Abbie, an animal book:

211 219 220

It has been played with for since Saturday and counting.

So my daughter is three:

067

She still answers TWO when you ask her how old she is but her fingers are now correct.

What did we do afterwards? Well, nothing actually. We just ate. And ate. And ate. Two family pizzas, 2.5kilos of fried chicken, 2kilos of spaghetti, ice cream and cake were eaten by 4.5 adults (Matthew is half :P ). I wish I can it was because of my cooking but my sisters just really love pasta :) Even my husband, who NEEDS to eat with rice, loved my cooking. Im improving!

We went to the mall so she can ride the carousel, eat cotton candy and just play at the Fun House. The adults just ate (again) and made small talk. There were no Poker Tables for us to go to plus we didn’t have anyone to leave the kids with. (My sister and husband play poker a lot).

Next time.

Happy birthday princess!
