Twit. Twit.

I don’t know if you noticed, but I have not been very loud lately. Twitter is one of the things I’ve given up for Lent and for those of you who I talk to there everyday, you know it’s really a big part of my everyday life. Going without it has made me yearn for adult talk big time, but I have to admit I have been very very productive with work. I even have time to really “live”. And since I don’t twit every freaking minute everyday (Im sure you’ve missed me though), here are the twits I would have made today.

  • Our cleaning lady didn’t report for work today. AGAIN.
  • I’m worried about the kids’ health. They are on double dose of Vitamin C and though there are no big time colds, they have sipon at night – a sure sign of rhinitis, and later on, asthma. They also have been dropping weight. Boo.
  • I’m quite excited about Sunday. It’s Martha’s first time to be a flowergirl. I’ve been giving her pep talks as often as I can, reminding her she will be a Cinderella with a pretty dress and I will give her manicure pedicure and makeup on Sunday. She answers, “Howkei, Mom” or shouts, “Oh yeah!”
  • Martha was watching Dora on the other room and Matthew was dribbling his ball in the living room. It bounced off the shelves and she heard it crash. She goes out, hands on hips, and says, “What happened here?” (Yes, she did!). She turns to me and looks at me, “Ma, what happened? What?” and then I tell her what happened. She turns to Kuya and said, “Ay Kuya, what happened! Kunin mo! Patay ka sa daddy mo.” Hahahahahah.
  • 27 pages baby!!!! I’m a mean scrapping machine!
  • I miss my camera.
  • I downloaded new tunes for my iPod. After 10 million years.
  • Super Massive Blackhole and White Love Story and Bella’s Lullaby is on repeat.
  • I am thisclose to watching Coffee Prince and reading Twilight again. Nope, Im giving up my girly fantasies for Lent.
  • I miss my online friends. They have become real friends na. Yak. Mushy.
  • Can somebody prettify my brows please?

Matthew’s Recognition Day

It was Matthew’s Recognition Day at school yesterday and it was the first time I wasn’t able to take pictures *so sad*. Stupid SLR lens broke and my new point and shoot camera’s battery was not charged. I wouldn’t be able to take pictures anyway because it was just me and Matthew and I had to go up the stage with him. So it was the first and last time in this schoolyear that I paid for someone to take pictures of us. Edil had to go home because Martha was still sleeping (she is back to her sleeping schedule again – sleeps at 9PM, wakes up at 2AM, goes back to sleep at 5AM).

Anyway, Matthew got a medal for being a consistent achiever and he also got the Best in English and English Speaking Award. After their level, we decided to have Edil pick us up and we went to Jollibee to eat (as always).

We all slept when we got to the house because we were still so tired from going to Manila the day before.

Big development on Martha’s school though, they are accepting three year olds so there is a big possibility that she will go to school there. I just need to adjust Martha’s timeclock so that going to school wouldn’t be such a big adjustment for her. I hope I can do that in two months.

Bathroom Ideas

If I have a choice I’d like a bathroom that I can sleep in – big, with his and hers sinks, a shower closet, a separate bathtub, a lounging chair, with access or connected to a walk-in closet. I also want an all-white bathroom, I just like the cleanliness it has an impression, even if it means it will be harder to maintain it immaculately clean!

I have been seeing very nice bathrooms in home improvement and interior decorating blogs and I love how many styles can evolve in ideas.

imageOur own bathroom is very bare. We actually need wirework accessories to hold toilet accessories. I prefer them so things actually drain by itself.

Since we rent, our bathroom’s color was something we did not have any say about and it’s green. While I don’t any complaints about the color, as I’ve said, I really want an all-white bathroom with granite tops as sinks.

I also have one requirement for a bathroom too – it needs to smell good all the time! Scented candles and baking soda will help. My mom has scented candles burning all the time in their bathroom.

The bathroom at Sonya’s Garden is nice too – very dainty. And it smells good too :)

We just came back from Manila and the title says it all.

We went to Manila because it was my grandmother’s 85th birthday. We couldn’t let it pass because 1) not everybody gets to have the chance to reach 85 and 2) she is our only living grandparent. As usual, the heat was horrible and the traffic was bad, but tolerable.

The food was worth it though. I got the chance to taste my aunt’s kaldereta and CCME’s lengua again so it was all good.

However, when we were about to sing happy birthday to our grandmother, I couldn’t take any pictures. The lens won’t focus so it won’t click. I then noticed that the lens were askew ~ perfect bad timing. I really don’t know what happened because it was in my Crumpler bag all the time so maybe when Matthew was carrying it, it fell down? I really don’t know. For now, I hope it’s fixable. I’m trying to be cute so Edil will let my buy the 50mm 1.4 lens (that’s the cheapest I can buy). So there, no pictures.

Kainez. I wanted to get as many pictures of Lola because we will never know up until when she will still be with us. Her birthday last year was also wiped out when my EHD fell down. I don’t have March pictures last year.

It’s Officially Summer Vacation.

And my patience and temper is being tested to its highest limit.

Matthew had his last day at school yesterday and save for the Recognition Day on Wednesday (I got a letter he will be receiving an award), he is home 24 hours, 7 days a week, starting today.

I’m searching for classes that can keep him really busy. I also need to see if Martha is ready for pre-school. Summer classes for her won’t start until May though. That’s the disadvantage of being in the province, special classes are far and few. We dedicate an hour each day something educational like coloring books, singing nursery rhymes, me pointing colors – so far all she knows are the colors pink, red, and black and she says that for every color there is.

I really need to learn how to drive. Matthew told me yesterday, “Mommy, if you knew how to drive, I can take as many lessons as I want. Kasi di na tyo sasabay ke Dad.” Hmm, he didn’t take into consideration that we don’t have a second car, we can’t enroll him to the five classes he wants this summer (guitar, intensive reading, advanced speech, basketball and swimming) not unless he doesn’t want to be enrolled next schoolyear. LOL.

Movie Weekend.

I finally sat down long enough to finish a movie. Movies actually, and I’m proud to say I wasn’t multi-tasking (aka on the laptop) while watching too.

Edil has a new hobby – he discovered a stall which sells BluRay (kuno) DVDs that have 8 in 1 movies and bought movies for the kids. So we threw the scratched and overused movies – Lion King 1 and 2, to be exact. The kids are always watching movies and I hear them in the background while I do chores, work or read but Friday night I finally sat down and watched High School Musical 3 and Meet the Robinsons. Awww, I so love HSM3!! I really love Vanessa’s style – I actually got so kilig on their dance on the school’s rooftop (well, kinikilig naman ako sa lahat ng romantic movies so walang surprise dun).

And come Friday night – Saturday morning, pinaglamayan ko ang Prison Break Seasons 3 and 4. And like how I am with series, I run 24 hour watching sessions (wiwi break lang ang pahinga) because I cannot stop watching them until I see the ending. Last year there was a month when Edil and I won’t work on a Monday because we ran 24 hour marathon sessions finishing Heroes, Prison Break and Grey’s Anatomy. We really tend to get addicted so we try not to watch until a season is over.

The timing could not be anymore far from perfect because it’s the last week of March and I have a lot of deadlines looming.
