Im thisclose to hiding all her Dora DVDs. We are not able to watch anything else!! It’s as if Martha owns all our tv furniture!
She knows the lines by heart, she can turn away and even act out what Dora is saying!
Oh wait, we do watch something else. We watch Lion King 2 and Brother Bear and Heffalump alternately. I’ve been negotiating with the husband to get cable for us already just to break the monotony. As if we only have one kid in the house, the big brother usually is crying because the two shows he ABSOLUTELY requests to watch everyday – SpongeBob and Azu Manga Daio (sp?) – sometimes are not heeded because Martha throws a tantrum. What can we do? We can’t buy another TV just to appease the little girl. But we really have thought about it. However, two computers are enough for our family of four. (Pag nagTV na kami ng isa pa, baka di na kami magusap usap lahat, hehehe).

Financial analysts are saying that the financial crisis in the US will be experienced globally this year. It is as if the financial crisis is the earthquake and it triggered a tsunami that will wipe out small islands – including us. That is why they are advising people to save and if one has money to invest, invest on something tangible, like a house or a car, because they are sure prices will drop due to the crisis.
Which brings us to me. Most of my mommy friends are also pinching their pennies. Online friends who are my shopping companions when we shop online are also trying to save and change their ways. Most of us are saving for something big. And I think I have never taken saving money as seriously as I’m taking it now.
So what do we save for you ask? As mothers with the same age as mine, we usually don’t have our own house yet. So we would like to save up for one. I have two kids who are both going to school this June so that’s another thing I need to set aside funds for.
Will we deprive ourself? I think we should not. We work hard to earn big so we deserve a little shopping now and then, but I guess our purchases will be big as well, the reason behind lesser shopping sprees. Most friends are saving up for a designer bag. I’d rather save for diamond studs or a nice watch. Alligator Watch Bands are also on the list for husbands. Hirsch brands are high-quality watch straps that provide your watch a new look each time. One can find them at WatchStyle.com and what is better for us overseas customers is that they do worldwide shipping in 2-3 days. Beat that!

This is how our clean house looks like after 10 minutes.
She is a bulldozer. It’s nice naman kasi Martha has a habit of cleaning up after herself. She puts back her toys and books if you tell her to do. Yun nga lang, after 10 minutes, she’d put it out again.
And here is our Broken Sacred Heart:

Heartbroken
Martha threw a sink (literally, her toy sink from her mini kitchen set) into the top of the shelf where our altar was when she got excited in the dance of the Lion King 2. It was the first time she really panicked upon seeing my face because I was so mad. She said "Sorry Mommy, Sorry Mommy" over and over but I couldnt trust myself to speak nor move because I might regret what I will do if ever. She then went closer and cradled my face in her hands and said, "Oh Mommy its awright, its awright." EXACTLY what I say to her when something bad happens.
Oh well.
That was a gift from my Mom a housewarming gift when we moved to the new house.

Some of you were asking where Martha got her black-eye a few weeks back and I never got around to sharing the reason behind it.
No, she didn’t hit herself on a doorknob (or any door hardware for that matter) nor did she get into a fist fight with her big brother.
Actually we don’t know either. We can only guess. When we went to Manila for her cousin’s 7th birthday party, all her cousins were in a room playing with each other. She never cried nor complained during the whole time so when I was about to put her to sleep I noticed she had a shiner already.
Her cousin had a scratch on his forehead too so we can only guess they were roughhousing each other.

I really should learn how to drive. My excuse of not having my own car to drive with is so lame. I need to learn how to drive because hospitals are far here. Groceries, school, and church too. What if we had an emergency and Edil is not here? I am sure we can borrow a car from our landlord, they are kind. I don’t want to end up in that situation but it is better to be prepared.
The question is who would teach me to drive? I cannot afford to enroll for driving lessons, it is too far and the payment for it can go to something more needed. Edil needs to have more patience to be able to teach me. I wish there was an Online Traffic School here in our country. It can help me get more credits.
For example, if Edil got a ticket it will help him to clear tickets faster and easier through the online traffic school. It is the most affordable method to clear your traffic ticket with program fees starting as low as $9.95. Gotaticket.com California traffic school guarantees the lowest price for Internet traffic school. They are also the easiest Internet traffic school with their website leading you through the program every step of the way.

I’m making up for being so scarce
All these are in my Flickr with corresponding stories but you have to be a friend to view them (I’m trying to limit posting my kids’ pictures for everyone to see hence the sized small pictures in this blog).
Naligo lang ako:
And I saw this!
She got all my neat laundry on the floor! When she saw me she immediately said, “Im sorry Mommy Im sorry Mommy” but when she saw I took pictures she knew she was not in any (that big amount of) trouble.
On that same day too I thought she went out of the house & got lost. I was busy in the kitchen and Matthew came out and asked me where Martha is. So we looked (our house is very small so we should see her immediately). I was about to go out when I saw her in my cabinet with her crocs. You know what she said?
”Mommy dirty na shoes Martha eh, dirty na. Yaaaak dirty”
Que horror.

Valentine’s day is coming up and I am sure we will be having a lot of traffic come February 14th. We really don’t have plans for V-day since two days after that will be my birthday so that is more important. However, if you are looking for Brooklyn Florists to book for your loved one’s flowers, use Teleflora’s Find a Florist online florist directory for a quick and convenient reference you know you can trust. All you need to do is enter a city or zip code, and you’ll be provided with a list of exceptional florists in the area. From there, you can go directly to their websites, browse through their offerings, and place your order online. This is easiest way to find a florist!
