Archives for the year 2009

I have been thinking if I should go back to the workforce next year, once Martha goes to school. Those finance jobs or the ones involved in the callcenter industry is a no-go for me as I would very much like to practice what I have studied and earned a degree for. But as life for me is, I should never close any doors and never say never.

I never knew how much love my heart could hold, until someone called me “Mommy” – I became a Mommy today, nine years ago! Happy Birthday Matthew!

I have never been as involved with the internet and everything that goes with it until now. I have considered myself a late nerd addict, discovering Yahoo Mail only in 2003 and sticking with the basics until 2005 when I discovered that I can make money while spending my time endlessly surfing across the web.
It helped that I worked for a registrar company which expanded its services. From domain registrations and transfers, they branched out to windows hosting services, blog hosting services and building a sort of seo agency – pay per click posting and top ten results. These are marketing strategies employed by web site owners who would want to land on the top 10 or top 100 search results in search engines, primarily Google.
Let’s face it – everybody turns to search engines when looking for something on the web. Making sure you land high enough so that your site gets clicked on and tracks a visit is good for your site and business. Search engines have a way of determining if your site lands in top results and that is by way of the right effective keywords and how high your site’s page rank is across the web. That is why web site owners invest on getting the services of a link building agency so that they can have better chances of having quality inbound links to their site. One way of doing that is to make sure that your site gets blogged about. You would be amazed how many people turn to blogs for information these days. They even have the latest news before you read about them in official news sites.
CPA Networks have a variety of services for the web site owner. They have advanced online marketing technology and provide a range of search, email, display, affiliate and online lead generation services to a portfolio of direct clients and agencies.

Christmas is just around the corner and before you know it is here already! Anybody of you are like me who hasn’t even started Christmas shopping yet? Year after year, I always promise myself that I will prepare earlier next time and year after year it is always the same. We still do not have a tree up yet. We have been incredibly busy with parties and attending the traditional Simbang Gabi (Nine Masses) that there is really no time to go to the mall, and even wrap gifts. Not that I have that much cash to shop anyways. I have not run out of ideas for Christmas gifts though and this one, parents might like to receive for their kids. The best part of it is you can order it online (my most preferred choice for shopping!) and if you order by December 17th, you can still receive your order by Christmas.

You can buy one share of stock of any company (like Hershey’s, Gap, Target, Ebay) and you can give it to them! These are real shares of stocks in publicly traded companies in certificate form. They can actually increase over time too.
And what better way to invest than to get a Disney share? Walt Disney has built one giant kingdom where dreams DO come true – you can never go wrong with this!
They have a promotion going on – Get $5.00 off your order when you use the discount code STOCK at checkout. Or if you do not use the word STOCK at checkout, you will get a free frame with the purchase of a stock.

So let’s see…
12 days before Christmas!
And we haven’t put up the tree yet. We don’t even have Christmas decors put up.
And I haven’t finished wrapping the gifts. I am predicting this will be very much like last year, we wrapped gifts on the 24th when the kids were napping in the afternoon
And we haven’t decided on what to wear on the eve of Christmas and the day itself. We have a tradition of wearing matching clothes- let us see if I can schedule some shopping time.
And we badly need a vacation, the husband and I. Too bad we cannot afford to rent one of the Outer Banks vacation homes we see on the net!

We still do not have plans for Matthew’s birthday. It has always been like this because his day falls a few days before Christmas. I cannot believe I have a kid who will be N-I-N-E already! Can you believe it? So far, he has turned down my offer to have a party in school, saying it’s boring and he doesn’t want to do anything than eat at his favorite place. He told me though that he wants Chucks a few weeks before so I might give him that as a present. We need to be creative with his gifts as he needs to get one on his birthday aside from the one he will be receiving on Christmas. We told him though that if we save enough, we might go to Disneyland HK when he turns 10 next year. It might not be as big as Disneyland in CA or Disneyworld in FL (we might as well book orlando hotel rooms when we go there), but the magic is still there. I pray it pushes through!

I cannot even begin to describe how the weekend was for me. I was able to reflect, decide, be inspired and touched by Love. I pray I do not forget everything that I have learned today and that I prioritize things that need to be prioritized. The new week awaits, and I cannot wait for nine days countdown to Christmas to start! I completed the nine masses last year and I hope I complete it again this year- most especially this year! I want to finish all pending work before the 16th like writing about diet pill reviews, flower markets and fashion trend reviews so I can focus on celebrating and enjoying the season!

I have said this again and again – I so love December! There is just something about the month that inspires family time and get togethers and celebrations. Even the weather is cooperating – no rain nor heatwaves since December started!
One nice thing I love about where I live is the fact that greens are everywhere. You would not be disappointed if you need fresh air and cool breeze because there is an abundance of trees, few houses and we live near a lake in the mountains. Right now, the season has turned cold – perfect for cuddling in bed. Even if the sun is out the breeze is cool. Even the flowers are blooming – their colors are so rich and vibrant! It is really a good time to wed during December – especially here! The church where we got married is located in our area and right now, the flowers tended by the gardeners are in full bloom! What a nice location would that make for pictures.
