After Daddy goes to Manila to work, our life transforms into one very ordinary family, sans the daddy.
Monday after Matthew gets home, we do homework, they eat merienda (Well, I also eat — so I think I need Apidexin already) and watch TV, play the computer and read. In between, they play, they play roughly, one cries, the other screams or in simpler terms, they fight. They can be adorable though when they are in harmony, which happens around once in about 200 possibilities.
You know why they really dont get along well? Because Martha is complete control freak who thinks she is the big sister (ahem, sounds familiar) and Matthew is just one fellow who loves to tease (when Im not looking) and cry wolf whenever his sister cries. I have to admit Martha is really at fault around 80% of the time. She is madamot with everything when it comes to her Kuya – her toys, the TV, heck even the sofa (Matthew sits at the floor to watch TV can you imagine). Whatever Matthew is doing, she needs to be doing it too. It can be a great way to trick her into doing something, like drinking her vitamins, but in all other areas, it’s one great pain in the a**.

I have been craving for some me time for quite awhile now. Just the chance to be completely alone, take a break, sans the kids. It has been emotionally draining, taking care of the two kids alone most of the time. I find it healthier for both the kids and me if I get to take a break away from them every now and then (makes me a bit more patient, heehee). I have been with the kids everyday for the last six months and havent had a day off. I am not complaining (do I sound like it?) but to be honest, me being able to last an hour in front of the computer without breaking up a fight, or staying up way too late to enjoy quiet time, is my current only luxury. I dont even take baths alone for the past month. Martha is always with me. Even when I cook, she needs to be beside me, mixing something. (Doubling the dishes needed to be washed). Next to blog burn out, Im afraid Im going to be experiencing burn out completely. It doesnt help that people are sometimes thoughtless – I ask for me time next week to go to Manila, I get an answer of OK and then when I tell that Martha needs to see her doctor, I get a suggestion that I take Martha along when I get me time. WOW! I might as well take her, as nobody else will. I might as well get her ears pierced too so she can wear her studs. (Nope, she doesnt need to have designer costume jewelry!)

I miss you.
My hands are always full with the kids but my heart is empty.
January could not come soon enough.

We went to Matthew’s school to get his report card and since he was an achiever we went to Teriyaki Boy (his choice) to treat him out.
Martha and Matthew wanted to eat using chopsticks:
And Martha was seriously PMS-ing, she didnt want to be cuddled by anyone including her Dad. Topak. LOL

Im expecting it to be a lazy weekend. With Edil not going home this weekend (he can stay longer next week since Monday is declared a holiday. (Here’s hoping it will be a nice weekend). Anyway, I have this itch to go to Manila and have a “me” day… the last time I went without the kids has been ages ago – last August!!!! With Martha with me 24/7, even with trips to the loo (yes, she comes with me, we even take baths together), I need a break. I have been reading on travel locations to ease my travel itch. And stalking the Survivor Philippines web site. Hee Hee. Denver Plastic Surgery is another thing I read in passing (Can you tell I’m bored?) Dr. John A. Grossman, is the head of Grossman Plastic Surgery ® and their goal is to assist each and every one of their patients toward the goal of “living beautifully”.

I have never been a fan of jewellery. Not because I don’t like it, but honestly. the ones I like I cannot afford (for now). A little background: my ears are extremely sensitive to fake jewellery. So my mom would always let me wear real ones. Until I was six and I lost my nth pair of earrings with matching bracelet. So mom stopped letting me wear them, I stopped looking for them and then when puberty stuck, I so wanted to wear those funky accessories with beads but I would have rashes after I wear them.
Until I discovered silver. Unlike gold, which I am not allergic too but is too expensive for my own money for now, silver is something I can wear and afford. I have not been a fan of silver jewellery because I felt it wasnt really compatible with my skin as skin tone color is warm – yellow-based. Imagine my surprise when I tried out silver and white gold jewellery and it came out really nice.
Im partial to earrings and necklaces because I want them clean and simple. Sterling Silver Jewellery is perfect for them! I really like this mini-stars bracelet:
Silver Bangles are considered fashionable these days too. My sister wears one all the time. I wonder if I can get it to work for me. I have been looking at jewellery at Key Silver. They are actually a UK company but deliver internationally FREE. Their silver jewellery is .925 which means it is of high quality. (min 92.5% silver).
Sterling Silver Bracelets are still the ones that have catching my eye though. I have been looking at them all morning. I so want to get Martha and I matching bracelets! I need to bookmark the site and decide! Look at these!

Martha was singing Dora, and said to me,
“Mommy, Im the Mac, Im the Mac!!!” (Map)
I tell her, “MaPPP” (stressed the P letter).
She turns her back to me and sings again,
“Im the Mac-PPPP (laway making talsik every where).
Im the Mac-PPPP (laway making talsik every where).
Im the Mac-PPPP (laway making talsik every where).!!!!!”
