Back from the Holy Land.

My Dad just got back from the pilgrimage to Jerusalem and he had a lot of stories to share. It is interesting the Jerusalem has retained a LOT of its look way back Jesus’ time until now. There are no tall buildings and factories are built outside the wall to Jerusalem (Yes, it is still there). The government also has mandated that newly erected facilities use the same building color and finish (and stone) as with the other old ones. The people rely heavily on pilgrims/tourism for their living. Can you believe that one St. Peter’s fish (tilapia) costs $14? A memento of Jerusalem as center of the universe (it’s nice) was selling for $100! My Dad haggled and haggled and was able to bring it down to 100 sheckels ($30) — amazing! Since they did a lot of walking, my Dad got lots of blisters on his feet unfortunately. Blister Treatment has been done but it still hurts a lot when he walks.
