Medical Information Going Mobile
Posted on Apr 26, 2008 under All Around the Web |My father is a doctor and he still needs help with prescribing medicines! Most especially since the law that mandates they prescribe generic names of the medicines they prescribe. That is why an online medical reference is really handy for doctors - they can refer to it wherever they are. In fact, most physicians with a PDA has a medical software by companies, such as Epocrates, Inc.installed with it. Epocrates medical reference software is now used by over 500,000 healthcare professionals. With the Epocrates’ drug guide loaded on their PDA or smartphone, clinicians can immediately access the information needed to make prescribing decisions – such as drug dosing, side effects and health plan coverage. It is a free medical Pocket PC, medical Palm and medical Windows mobile software. The company also recently launched a free drug reference for BlackBerry devices. Additionally, Epocrates is working with Apple to develop a downloadable drug guide for iPhone devices. Clinicians with an iPhone or iPod Touch can currently access Epocrates content by visiting m.epcorates.com on their Safari web browser.
