And Im looking forward to just working three days next week! WOOT! And then after that, I need to go on leave when the maid goes for a week-long leave for her brother’s wedding. Can I make it? LOL. This early, I am mapping out plans how to make it work. It gets tricky because we need to bring and fetch Matthew from school. I guess I need to buy lots of groceries for us that week! I hope the husband becomes cooperative! There are no plans for today except work work work, then blog blog and blog. Then scrap (I need to finish a challenge I was invited to be part of next week). Then watch Marimar (of course!) LOL

A perfect example how rough Matthew can get. Notice at first you think he was just tickling Martha then at the last picture he was about to choke her! LOL I know he didnt really mean it, and Martha was still giggling the whole time I was taking pictures but I had to warn him when I saw his hands on Martha’s throat to “be gentle”. Martha loves playing rough kasi. Hay. I miss the kids!

Have you seen this? Would you believe Edil got exactly one like this - the one as seen on tv, when he was deeply involved with bodybuilding before? He would do ab exercises even when watching TV, it was insane! I tried it once, but the handles were so hard and I hard time “crunching it down”, so I stopped. I don’t know - I really was a health buff before, I even go to the gym regularly but suddenly I just got lazy to do anything. Well, Edil took the Abs Machine out, hoping against hope I will touch it. Let’s see if I really can this time. Wish me luck!

I have been keeping tabs on the latest updates on the wildfires that have devastated Southern CA through CNN. While there is the slightest good news that the fires and winds have been slowing down, I cannot help but feel for the thousands of families who lost their homes and are displaced. I saw footages where the used-to-be San Diego prime real estate was, and all buildings were really wiped out. It is so sad, to have no control over it. Let us just all pray that rain comes soon, and it rains hard in the affected area. Then they can start rebuilding their homes, and lives.

So I need to post three wishlists for me, Matthew and Martha. Naku, di naman kaya maawa si Edil sa sarili nya wala syang gift?! ROFL. Hindi, joke lang.

Honestly, my mind is still blank! I dont know what to wish for, especially for me! The one thing I really want to have can only be given by me or my husband (and no it’s not a baby but a laptop - na pwede na din maging baby! ROFL!).

Meet Aling Martha - she picked her belongings all by herself.

Upon waking up in the morning, after washing up and eating a few bites of breakfast, she would go grab her shoes, and signal for us to put them on. Once done, she goes into the room and comes out with Barney and her pink dog bag. The pink bag has a dog face, not shown, and was bought because she didnt want to let go of it after picking it up in the store. The bag doesn’t have any contents, just so you know. The mommy insists she wear a hat - albeit a little small for her already. Amadeo winds are harsh but at least one can avoid direct sun exposure.

So let’s play a game, do you see her animated expression there? Post a comment on what she might be doing, put a caption on the picture, and the one that is most creative gets a little something something from me. It can be anything: Martha talking, what is Martha doing, etc.

As a teenager, we all had our share of fantasy dreams and celebrity (whether it be an actor or a sports celebrity) crushes. I often dreamed of meeting Keanu Reeves in person after watching the movie, Speed! (You can now guess how old I am judging by how so long ago the movie was!) I also had my share of sports celebrity crushes too - but this time, I focused on basketball players. I had my share of teen idolism too, and since I really wasnt a sports buff to begin with, I look up to women involved with sports and who excel at them with so much admiration.

And here is my chosen blog for this week: Jenn’s Everyday Randomness Blog.

I really like the design of her blog - clean, white background, easy to read text, no sidebar clutter. And if you look at her header, you will various stages of women doing everyday things - which, if you start reading her blog, you will realize, are really her interests and what she blogs about. I love how her blog exemplifies what her blog title suggest - Everyday Randomness. It really is all about everyday randomness - her love for motorcycles, her love for English Bulldoggs, her financial struggles, struggles with her mother. Though I don’t share her passion for motorcycles and love for dogs, reading at her entries about them makes me want to become even the slightest bit of interested. I am deathly afraid of motorcycles - I am afraid I might die riding it (which is actually the fear of her mom based from a few posts I have come to read), but she makes it look so easy, and dare I say it, COOL! I hate pets but her dog pictures are so adorable! We share the same struggles and problems with money, and it makes me feel like I am not alone in this world when she discusses it either. She runs a computer repair shop right at her home so it is no surprise she can share her techie know-how. I especially liked her post about why the Google Notebook would be great for mobile bloggers. It comes with screen shots too, I must try it out, definitely. Interestingly, she also does paid blogging but does it so seamlessly you will be impressed how she includes it in her posts. The Everyday Randomness blog is something I look forward to checking out and adding to my bookmarks for future reads, random blog inspiration and getting my need for a motorcycle-driving woman read.

Posing for the pictures :).

Their roles are actually reversed this time. Matthew completely is a total rebel during photo shoots, runs away when I aim the camera at him. Makes funny faces when I take pictures and even (successfully) distracts Martha when she is posing - e minsan lang mangyari un eh! He would call her, and try to let her chase him. I think Matthew just hit his terrible twos, at seven, LOL. Seriously! Hirap na hirap ako sa kanya these days.

Martha naman smiles readily for the camera already, look at her pose there. She can pose solidly with different poses pa, for about three minutes - that’s long enough for me to get around 5 very good shots and around 30 pictures taken every 2 seconds, LOL. Afterwards, she will say enough, look at the viewfinder and go on about her daily life, LOL.

In the picture though, Matthew was game to smile (he looks so thin no? He is so thin na, he is so fickle when it comes to food - kasakit ng ulo! Plus his teeth are falling out so I guess mastication is hard for him). And well, Martha, look at her :). She has around five poses pa in addition to the picture which I absolutely love.

In fairness, Matthew behaves when Martha is not around. I actually think it’s sibling rivalry already. Any tips how to get around with this? I dont compare, I dont naman pinpoint, puro reverse psychology na nga. Pero Im only one person and Martha absolutely gets to be a monster when I dont play with her. E with the big brat naman, if I miss his question by five seconds or ask him to repeat what he just said (remember Martha is talkative na din), he will make dabog already saying I dont listen to him, yada yada. That is why Edil handles Matthew and I handle Martha. When Edil couldnt come to Amadeo, OMG, it was a nightmare. I didnt have any physical, mental or emotional rest. I have a yaya pa nyan to sterilize and fix other things - but I really had my hands full. Grabe.

(And did I already mention my yaya is taking a week long leave starting November 8th? Im forced to take a leave din — and that is when I will really experience what it takes to be a SAHM - literally, without a maid! God help me!)

Matthew had a hard time adjusting to the fact that he has a sister after a week of being the baby in the house. He threw tantrums and was generally very very very difficult on the first day in Amadeo. He was so bad! He would even accidentally bump Martha or play rough with her and choke her “accidentally”. I was so harassed! Edil wasnt there to discipline his son (He takes care of Matthew since he is the man). Sweet talking, threatening, amicable talks - nada. It wasnt working! I hope my parents don’t have a hard time with the kids this week!
