It looks as if I was back in college again. I wore the ever boring white uniform for Med Tech students at UST and I was trying to get to class on time and still be dry.

Except I needed to go to work in Makati, on time and still be dry (and not look like a wet duck!). Typhoon Dodong has been raised to Signal No.2 today, and since Im part of the workforce that doesnt believe in natural calamities, I needed to go to work – on time.

Fortunately, there are tri-sikads which can take me to LRT. And LRT, surprisingly, wasnt crowded. I was able to sit myself comfortably from the Tayuman station to Buendia. Buendia was another story. There were no buses nor taxi cabs in sight. I managed to get into an ordinary-fare bus, standing of course, and the Buendia-Washington area was flooded, as always. Not so impressive for the Central Business Hub of the Philippines, eh?

I got there in time, too early. 7.26AM. I was dry from the waist up, and my pants are OK. My sandals would be another sory.

5PM. I try to go home. Riding the FX was easy. We were in Espana in 20 minutes. WOW! Suspending classes proved to be an advantage.

Pero naman.

Once you hit Lacson, Forbes, everything transforms into ankle deep wave of dirty water. And since I simply refuse to pay 60 pesos for a trisikad to get me home by driving 4 blocks, I walk. Traffic was so bad anyway.

Thank God SM San Lazaro is now built, so our part of Dimasalang isnt flooded. Or course, the other side, the Dangwa Flower Market, is another story.

Just another day in Dimasalang, people. It doesnt get any easier. But at least I didnt walk in thigh-high black trash water now.
