Thank you for all your prayers about my Lola and Dad.
Lola Rose went in for surgery at around 1PM yesterday. So far, the surgery went well and she is to be released from the ICU today from the standard 24 hr recovery period. We now hope she responds positively to rehab. There are a lot of things to be done – her room needs to get revamped. She needs a physical therapist. Im trying to convince my Dad to get a private nurse for her already. In the meantime, we give her reasons to fight to live – my cousins will all come home this Christmas, so is a new great granddaughter. Then they will come home again in time for her birthday next year – March.
My Dad’s test also went well. Basically, his cardiologist referred him to an electrophysiologist, saying that there is no problem with his (heart) tubes, there is a problem with his heartbeats – or electricity. His doctor said, “Im the plumber and I see nothing wrong, so I refer you to an electrician to check your power supply.” His EKG has shown remarkable arrythmias . His first two tests, an EKG and the wearing of a Holter belt for 24 hrs revealed not so conclusive reports. So he was scheduled to undergo electrophysiology tests (more variations here: 1, 2, 3), which happened to be on the same day at roughly the same time my Lola was about to have an operation.
As expected, my Mom was a nervous wreck. Basically, during the test, my Dad is injected with a medicine that stimulates the heart to beat like it is running fast. If you see my Dad, with his COPD and obesity, you KNOW he is not fit to run, or even walk briskly. He is hooked to a machine which lets doctors see his heart and its contractions, so they can determine what exactly is going wrong. So my mom was afraid my Dad couldnt handle it. I admit I was too. It lasted for about four hours and my Dad came out dead beat and tired. We now wait for final results, but according to my Dad, his ___ contractions are disappearing (I think it’s PPC but Im not sure).
So, that is two of my most loved people in the hospital. You can conclude I havent had an easy breath for the last 24 hrs.

Hi Aggie, glad that everything is going well with your Lola now. I’ll pray for the results of your Dad’s tests…
