My mom has been having a hard time with menopause these days - palpitations, high blood pressure, hot flushes and migraines. I have advised her to try and seek medical advice from her OB-gyne and ask if she can have Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) - when a woman goes through menopause, her body lacks a very vital hormone called progesterone. It helps the body prepare for conception, pregnancy, regulates menstrual cycles and plays a role in sexual desire. High progesterone levels are believed to be partly responsible for symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), such as breast tenderness, feeling bloated and mood swings. When you skip a period, it could be because of failure to ovulate and subsequent low progesterone levels.

Just putting in a reminder for you to join Blog Day 2007! My entry will be up tonight - so it will be the 31st of August in the US as well. Im still one blog short of my list of five, because Im having a hard time narrowing it down. Dont forget to link those blogs up and leave me a comment so I can discover new ones! Cant wait to see what you guys come up with! I’ve always wanted to discover new blogs! ![]()
My mom is a lover of hand-distressed and hand-finished furniture. Century furniture collections are always a big hit for her. She loves how shabby chic yet elegant their furniture looks. I personally would like the shabby chic look without the vintage feel, but somehow with them, it feels so well-put together. I especially like this collection - the Century Furniture Complements Collection. I see myself hanging out in the soft couch with coffee and my (soon-to-be) laptop scrapping away.
I dont have the couch nor the laptop, but it doesn’t hurt to dream, right? ![]()
Technically, it is still Thursday - but Im on leave for the next two days (and I have Mondays off) - so we are talking about a four-day weekend here (with payday tomorrow and blog earnings coming in! Yeehaw!). Well, the plan is to scrap till I drop on Friday, take pictures till my kids say enough, play with the filters I got and finally join the challenge Abie is hosting at the Bebot forum. Saturday Im going to meet with my best friends from college - one of them is getting married and Im part of her entourage so I need.to.lose.weight! (Jane, if you are reading this, Im excited for your cousin super!)
Then Sunday off to visit my in-laws. Monday, scrap again. In between, we are going to catch retakes of Grey’s and Prison Break - new seasons are coming soon! (Thanks Caryl!!).
But before I even get to planning my long weekend, I need to finish work. Im feeling oh-so-blah lately that all I can do is surf, surf, listen to music and eat - my kind of work ;). Hmmm, I want to go to Tags again *sigh*. Only a few more months until we move. I need to be patient and pray the move goes well.
Have a great Thursday!
I have been talking to Wanda about where to get my hair curled, waved or permed. I really like how her curls turned out but she had it done in Hongkong so it was pretty obvious I cannot go there just to get my hair done :).
Why do I want to try curly hair? Simple because Im tamad :). Im really a wash-and-go type of hair person. I dont have time to blow dry my hair - which is thin, wavy and not straight straight. Im trying to grow it longer so when I do get it, Ill have the length I want.
And a little trivia for you - did you know I was born with naturally curly Goldilocks hair? Yes! (Ill post a pic soon!). When I was 2 years old, my Lola cut it really really short (like Estong’s hair here) and when it grew back, it was straight already! My Dad had a fit! LOL. He really wanted me to have curls. Im grateful actually to Wawa Maring for it. My hair on good days is actually nice and has body. But Im wanting to try a different look for years now. It was always layered cuts, bangs, layered cuts and bangs. And since I cant go shorter or else my round face will only become rounder, soft curls might be best. Edil gave me the go signal and told me to try a new look (Im guessing he is going to try getting his hair long again - with an outrageous color so he gave me permission). I plan to have it around November before I resign (para may pera pa ako :D), and so that my hair will grow longer pa.
I googled “soft curls - perm wave” and found this. The Hair Rebonding Wave sounds scary but the hair in the picture is so nice! I want the body wave here. And if my hair is just strong enough, I really want to color and curl like this perfect picture.
Any suggestions where to get it though?

Can you believe it? September is only a few days away and once it comes in we are no officially in the -BER months. What does it mean? Christmas season will be officially starting. Most stores offer sales starting September and people start Christmas shopping by then! I need to make a gift list for my family and start planning what to give. This year is easier for us financially so Im looking forward to giving material gifts for a change. I am still looking online coupons though - anything that can help me save! I have always looked into Coupon Chief because they have the best coupons which work! I want to have codes for The Children’s Place to get Martha clothes and some Best Buy deals for the geeky husband. Christmas is my most favorite time of the year ever! And Im so excited because my parents will be staying here for the season! We will be a complete happy family!
One of the things I want to explore in my blog is to direct you to a blog I find helpful, amusing, entertaining, inspiring, or just something I really like reading into :). Since I am into paid blogging, I think this blog will be really helpful for you guys trying to get into it as well.
Bookmark this site: Bloggers R Us.
You will be taken into blogger tips, blogging paid programs and some basic HTML design tips to make your blog spiffy :). I also like the fact that they include tips on search engine optimization as well. One thing I am sure to do is get involved with Stumble Upon upon reading this entry - Blog Duck.
And speaking of blog design and enhancement, Im going to be teaming up with Caryl (well, she doesnt know it yet but she will now! LOL) to change the look of my blog(s). Im seeing blue and brown and lots of white in my next revamp with Google Ads placements. Wish me luck!

It is all about marketing blogs these days. Most businesses have discovered the power of blogging for marketing and now are all in for investing in their blogs. That is where SEO or Search Engine Optimization comes in. It is a process where a Search Engine Optimization Specialist reviews your web site and suggests keywords or metatags to add to your web site so you can have increased daily and unique visitors. When you have increased visitors, naturally, your site will most likely end up higher in search engine results. The problem is, Search Engine Advertising costs are a bit high and pricy, not to mention, the wait for the search engines to pick up your web site. At Daily Server, however, their Search Engine Optimization Services are unique - they only charge you for the results they make for your site and they guarantee that your site will be included in the top 10 listing in the MAJOR search engines or else they will give you your money back! They also cost per click advertising if you want faster results.
In line with keeping my blogs streamlined with topics throughout the week, I invite you to read about my mid-week musings on my pink and brown blog. The topic maybe a bit controversial or off the norm, but lately, I have been trying to reconnect with all that I believe in and part of that goal is to be able to connect my belief in all aspects of my life. You are free to comment there or here, or just read what ever is the opinion of others - just no bashing and flaming and arguing. Period :).
So here is my hump day thought to you - I have been thinking about topics on this blog, and since my blog is all about Mommy Talks, Wife Stories and Girl Speak, I think every other day I will be talking about my life as mommy, wife and woman - meaning, I will talk about my kids, my marriage and my husband, and me as a person :). Ill also have a post on a web site or blog that has caught my eye this week, and another post for blog geekiness - optimizing blogs to earn online. I dont know that much, but I hope we can help each other along the way :).
Any other topics you want me to cover? My comments are working (for now) so we need to take advantage of it
LOL. Im open for suggestions!
A family friend of ours is aspiring to become a real estate broker soon. He has passed certification training and is now preparing for the real estate test in their area. He has been using CompuCram to review. If you download a demo version, you will see how easy it works and how questions are phrased. The particulary software is available for real estate agents preparing for tests at specific states, brokers, insurance agents, mortgage agents and those who do home inspection. He is saying he would not be able to fully prepare without CompuCram and he is confident he will make it. We certainly hope so too.
When I still single and studying in college, the only staples you can see in my room and what I really classify as my bedroom furniture are my futon bed, a little desk, and my radio. I didnt have a computer then nor was I much into TV. I actually used the futon bed as my table when studying and I would rather sleep on the floor with four pillows and thick fleece blanket. Can you tell I was a complete nerd? Now that I’m married with two kids ages 6 1/2 and 15 months, Id rather have a king sized zen type bed. We would not do well with a high bed because we flail like fishes when sleeping! You would not even see us on our original positions when we wake up. We wake up in the strangest positions in the bed!
There has been recent developments with the family lately. Abbie has now been given the go signal to work abroad, provided that she will come back after five to six months if ever she wont get a work visa. It will help her gauge the lifestyle there and what we need for a smooth transition. Fortunately, technology has made communication easier. VoIP phone systems is one of the tools we can use without having to spend too much just so we can talk to each other. VoIP phone systems by Xpander are designed to be the most flexible and user friendly business phone systems out in the market. Their type: Nimbus VoIP reduces costs in setting up because you no longer need to buy and maintain a traditional PBX phone system.
I think I might need to do this weekly. I am still trying to find a way to be organized when it comes to blogging so my readers will know what I regularly blog about. It will also keep me sane when opps come flying in at ungodly hours and I dont have a decent interim entry.
As usual, there isnt more time enough in a day. *sigh* But I will get this done!
Home and Health: I digged up some pneumonia articles that parents can find useful. Martha is doing better, but is still being a crybaby. Please pray we dont get confined tomorrow. Actually, I know being confined might be the best treatment for her so we can easily get her better. BUT it is the knowledge that she will need an IV that is killing me.
Aggie Shoots. Aggie Scraps: I blogged! Yay!
I blogged about Songbird Avenue’s August Kit. I strongly recommend you get it for your monthly charity giving. We can shop for sales but cannot find the moolah to shop for charity? PLUS, it is nice. Really. Trust me, I bought it ;). I also blogged about the SSD challenges I’m leading. Im seriously backlogged into that area of layout sharing but I will get caught up. Promise!
Pink and Brown Diaries: I got a nice Manic Monday meme for you! I love doing these types of memes. It is pretty easy and yet you get to see and learn more about me ![]()
Who doesn’t love shopping? I think almost all of us loves to shop - if only there is boundless supply of money! There are people though who are so good in budgeting their money that they still can shop AND save. Do you know what is one of their secrets? COUPONS. Coupons can save you a great deal of money - any discount given is automatically savings on your part, so why not use it? There are a lot of coupon codes available online but one site you need to bookmark is CouponKathy.com. Their site makes sure all coupon codes are updated and working by testing them out on a weekly basis, so you are guaranteed to have working, no-hassle coupon codes. Speaking of shopping and coupon codes, who doesn’t want a deal from Target? I have read so many entries on blogs of digital scrapbookers how they are Target shopaholics! So they will be so happy to know the site offers target coupons! I just checked out the site and they are currently offering $5 off any order over $50! Better use them now! Target carries a great deal of stuff for the family - everything can be bought there! I remember I told my Mom to buy me a couple of different things when they went to the US and she had them completed in a day. I told her she must have shopped at so many different places to be able to get them all and she said, “Everything was available at Target!”
I would like to direct you a very nice event among the blogosphere again :). Blog Day 2007! This will happen on August 21, 2007 and I hope many of us participate :). This will be great chance for your blog to be discovered and a way for you to discover other blogs and make connections to the world. As a blogger for four years already, I have had the pleasure of meeting so many nice, genuine and friendly people through blogging. And I can truly say, they are “more real” that real life friends.
From their site:
BlogDay was created with the belief that bloggers should have one day dedicated to getting to know other bloggers from other countries and areas of interest. On that day Bloggers will recommend other blogs to their blog visitors.
With the goal in mind, on this day every blogger will post a recommendation of 5 new blogs. This way, all blog readers will find themselves leaping around and discovering new, previously unknown blogs.
So here is what you must do!
Think of five bloggers you want to introduce to the world to. These bloggers can be anybody in the world, and would be your recommendations.
BlogDay posting instructions:
1. Find 5 new Blogs that you find interesting
2. Notify the 5 bloggers that you are recommending them as part of BlogDay 2007
3. Write a short description of the Blogs and place a link to the recommended Blogs
4. Post the BlogDay Post (on August 31st) and
5. Add the BlogDay tag using this link: http://technorati.com/tag/BlogDay2007 and a link to the BlogDay web site at http://www.blogday.org
Look out for my recommendations ![]()
