My mom has been having a hard time with menopause these days – palpitations, high blood pressure, hot flushes and migraines. I have advised her to try and seek medical advice from her OB-gyne and ask if she can have Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) – when a woman goes through menopause, her body lacks a very vital hormone called progesterone. It helps the body prepare for conception, pregnancy, regulates menstrual cycles and plays a role in sexual desire. High progesterone levels are believed to be partly responsible for symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), such as breast tenderness, feeling bloated and mood swings. When you skip a period, it could be because of failure to ovulate and subsequent low progesterone levels.
Archives for August, 2007
Just putting in a reminder for you to join Blog Day 2007! My entry will be up tonight – so it will be the 31st of August in the US as well. Im still one blog short of my list of five, because Im having a hard time narrowing it down. Dont forget to link those blogs up and leave me a comment so I can discover new ones! Cant wait to see what you guys come up with! I’ve always wanted to discover new blogs!
My mom is a lover of hand-distressed and hand-finished furniture. Century furniture collections are always a big hit for her. She loves how shabby chic yet elegant their furniture looks. I personally would like the shabby chic look without the vintage feel, but somehow with them, it feels so well-put together. I especially like this collection – the Century Furniture Complements Collection. I see myself hanging out in the soft couch with coffee and my (soon-to-be) laptop scrapping away.
I dont have the couch nor the laptop, but it doesn’t hurt to dream, right?
Technically, it is still Thursday – but Im on leave for the next two days (and I have Mondays off) – so we are talking about a four-day weekend here (with payday tomorrow and blog earnings coming in! Yeehaw!). Well, the plan is to scrap till I drop on Friday, take pictures till my kids say enough, play with the filters I got and finally join the challenge Abie is hosting at the Bebot forum. Saturday Im going to meet with my best friends from college – one of them is getting married and Im part of her entourage so I need.to.lose.weight! (Jane, if you are reading this, Im excited for your cousin super!)
Then Sunday off to visit my in-laws. Monday, scrap again. In between, we are going to catch retakes of Grey’s and Prison Break – new seasons are coming soon! (Thanks Caryl!!).
But before I even get to planning my long weekend, I need to finish work. Im feeling oh-so-blah lately that all I can do is surf, surf, listen to music and eat – my kind of work
. Hmmm, I want to go to Tags again *sigh*. Only a few more months until we move. I need to be patient and pray the move goes well.
Have a great Thursday!
I have been talking to Wanda about where to get my hair curled, waved or permed. I really like how her curls turned out but she had it done in Hongkong so it was pretty obvious I cannot go there just to get my hair done
.
Why do I want to try curly hair? Simple because Im tamad
. Im really a wash-and-go type of hair person. I dont have time to blow dry my hair – which is thin, wavy and not straight straight. Im trying to grow it longer so when I do get it, Ill have the length I want.
And a little trivia for you – did you know I was born with naturally curly Goldilocks hair? Yes! (Ill post a pic soon!). When I was 2 years old, my Lola cut it really really short (like Estong’s hair here) and when it grew back, it was straight already! My Dad had a fit! LOL. He really wanted me to have curls. Im grateful actually to Wawa Maring for it. My hair on good days is actually nice and has body. But Im wanting to try a different look for years now. It was always layered cuts, bangs, layered cuts and bangs. And since I cant go shorter or else my round face will only become rounder, soft curls might be best. Edil gave me the go signal and told me to try a new look (Im guessing he is going to try getting his hair long again – with an outrageous color so he gave me permission). I plan to have it around November before I resign (para may pera pa ako
), and so that my hair will grow longer pa.
I googled “soft curls – perm wave” and found this. The Hair Rebonding Wave sounds scary but the hair in the picture is so nice! I want the body wave here. And if my hair is just strong enough, I really want to color and curl like this perfect picture.
Any suggestions where to get it though?

One of the things I want to explore in my blog is to direct you to a blog I find helpful, amusing, entertaining, inspiring, or just something I really like reading into
. Since I am into paid blogging, I think this blog will be really helpful for you guys trying to get into it as well.
Bookmark this site: Bloggers R Us.
You will be taken into blogger tips, blogging paid programs and some basic HTML design tips to make your blog spiffy
. I also like the fact that they include tips on search engine optimization as well. One thing I am sure to do is get involved with Stumble Upon upon reading this entry – Blog Duck.
And speaking of blog design and enhancement, Im going to be teaming up with Caryl (well, she doesnt know it yet but she will now! LOL) to change the look of my blog(s). Im seeing blue and brown and lots of white in my next revamp with Google Ads placements. Wish me luck!

In line with keeping my blogs streamlined with topics throughout the week, I invite you to read about my mid-week musings on my pink and brown blog. The topic maybe a bit controversial or off the norm, but lately, I have been trying to reconnect with all that I believe in and part of that goal is to be able to connect my belief in all aspects of my life. You are free to comment there or here, or just read what ever is the opinion of others – just no bashing and flaming and arguing. Period
.
So here is my hump day thought to you – I have been thinking about topics on this blog, and since my blog is all about Mommy Talks, Wife Stories and Girl Speak, I think every other day I will be talking about my life as mommy, wife and woman – meaning, I will talk about my kids, my marriage and my husband, and me as a person
. Ill also have a post on a web site or blog that has caught my eye this week, and another post for blog geekiness – optimizing blogs to earn online. I dont know that much, but I hope we can help each other along the way
.
Any other topics you want me to cover? My comments are working (for now) so we need to take advantage of it
LOL. Im open for suggestions!
When I still single and studying in college, the only staples you can see in my room and what I really classify as my bedroom furniture are my futon bed, a little desk, and my radio. I didnt have a computer then nor was I much into TV. I actually used the futon bed as my table when studying and I would rather sleep on the floor with four pillows and thick fleece blanket. Can you tell I was a complete nerd? Now that I’m married with two kids ages 6 1/2 and 15 months, Id rather have a king sized zen type bed. We would not do well with a high bed because we flail like fishes when sleeping! You would not even see us on our original positions when we wake up. We wake up in the strangest positions in the bed!
