Stocks.

Our company stocks, which we have a part of since we profit share with the company (think something like what PLDT has with its customers, only our stock isnt worth just 92pesos ;)), went down 5 points today. It was a bit disappointing since the stocks I got due to my promotion was just released to me. Though I dont have any plans of exercising my options at this moment with it going down and the dollar declining, I think it still be best for me to equip myself with tools to monitor historical option data in stock trading. For example, there is a tool which can be found online called PowerOptions that has a 14 day trial period and comes with an easy online user guide. I can download it, study it using the trial and make my decision if I need it! PowerOptions lets one organize, filter and analyze daily stocks and options online. With that program, one can easily manage their stock goals and let them decide easily.

Ah, payday is here :)

And it falls on a weekend.

Plan of action for today:
1. Pay bills.
2. Do grocery shopping.
3. Get Matthew some school supplies to set up his study area in our room - a very small space.
4. Take kids to pedia specializing in asthma - hopefully, I can bump into Peachy and her son Joaqui there.
5. If the kids, weather and everything else beyond my control will cooperate, I want to take pictures of the kids at UST. We have been planning this for ages and since we are there, we might as well. There are plenty of kid bribes there too - McDo, KFC, even Dairy Queen, I think. I want to to go P. Noval and buy the shake I used to get everytime after PE class when I was in college - 10 years ago, ack. LOL.

Have a great weekend.
Tomorrow it’s July already and half the year has gone by.

Find a Friend

My life revolves around the internet. I dont know if that would be a good thing or not. I work everyday with T3 internet access. I do sideline work using the Internet, planned my wedding 90% of which was done online, and met some incredible friends by joining online communities and by blogging. I used to be so skeptical and dubious about relationships, romantic or not, that develop online. I thought those relationships are just superficial and would not last long. I was so wrong! With so many network sites popping up, Im suprised to discover FriendFinder, it is a site I stumbled upon a few days ago. Their membership is free and you can perform a person search by name and place. Out of curiosity, I searched for a grade school classmate who I havent been in touch with since 1999. I still know her full name, and know where she is based now, so I did a search, and was pleasantly surprised she turned in among the search results :). I hope I can get to be in touch with her soon.

This type of web site is very useful for people who want to get in touch with and find old friends, or discover new ones. For people who would like to try online dating, this web site is a good start too. You can search by age, country, state and by area. Currently, there are 1,714,195 members so there is a very good chance of finding friends - old and new. It is not called FriendFinder for nothing! :)
I know couples who dated online first before being an item and they are now married and have kids! Im now a believer in online relationships.

Thank You.

For all the really nice comments from this post.

It’s not actually as bad as it looks. :) Since January this year, I have been earning more than enough (well, really just enough, quite frankly, LOL) for the family, I just had a downfall this month. For curious minds, I lost a total of $565 total :(. *insert stunned reactions here*.

All’s well that ends well though. My brother just got a job - his first, actually, and he’s 29 already! And my parents still help with the house, especially this month. It’s just hard because they maintain two houses - in Amadeo and in Manila, and well, they dont have jobs! Plus, they are getting old and my parents need to go to doctor check ups all the time :(, and they need all the money they can get. Hopefully, with my brother’s job, he can get my parents enrolled in an HMO program for free.

Anyway, the blogroll will begin by Monday next week :). I have been installing some scripts on my blogs and we will see a more uniform effect take place.

Just give me time. Im on my 4th night watching Heroes ;). I can finally end my addiction tonight. Im on episodes 18-23 I think. (The last episode I saw was when Mr.Bennett is staged to be shot by the Hatian to fool Lindermann…)

No sneak previews! Matthew has already spoiled most parts for me by telling me all about it, LOL. The kid is addicted as we all are.

The Gift of Education

My parents have really worked hard to give me and siblings the best education. Even if they could not afford to put us all in private schools, they persevered because they wanted us to reach and maximize our potentials. I can proudly say I finished my education with flying colors and earned myself two degrees, all with the belief of my parents in me and the help of relatives, specifically a godmother I have. She put me through the two college degrees I’ve earned, even offering that she put me to medical school even if I broke their heart by getting pregnant at a young age. I have the best family ever, honestly. Whenever I get compliments about getting through school and all, I feel humbled, because I would not even be able to study without them.

I just can’t help but think of those that dont have the support of their family. Many families are hard with money these days. They can barely put food on table, let alone take their kids to college. I admire young people who work while studying and maximize student loans. Student loans are very helpful for underprivileged students. I really would want this to be a law in our country. In the US, one can apply for a stafford loan to get them through college, they just need to have a High School diploma or a GED certificate. A stafford student loan is unique in a sense you wont pay for it while you are still studying. You’ll pay for it once you start working or after graduation! Plus it is a government approved loan so you can be assured that they have maximized the lowest earning interest for you.

I wish something like this will be offered here in the future. Filipino students are very bright, they deserve the education the government cannot give.

I have so many plans in the works but I have not been working towards any of them for the past two weeks because of some issues that really disheartened and demotivated me. Let’s just say I lost big money - in $$ - and all that was really really hard honest work. BUT, things may seem unfair for now, but it has made me realize all things are temporary, and that one must always be prepared if something like that happens. Most of you do not know but my mom no longer has work, Abbie’s resignation is effective on June 30, and that means major expenses will now be shouldered by me and Edil. We are not earning big to support a household of 9-10 people, with a toddler involved, so there will be major revisions to financial budgeting next month. This month has not been nice, financially speaking, as we would always run out of money a week before payday hits, and that’s when the gas would run out, the kids get sick, or something comes up. Totally not funny. Nakakasakit sa ulo. LOL.

You may ask, “What the hell is she doing now? She should blog more than ever to make money!!”. Yes, I should. But the long term goal here is to write quality posts which would result to a quality blog. I want to expand my readership base and have a target market so Im going to be keeping this blog to mommy and wife entries - parenthood, education, mommy tales, experiences. Of course there are still the posts about ME - and that’s where girl talk comes in.

With this said, Im opening up my blog for a link exchange for mommies and wives (and brides to be). Please leave a comment if you want to get linked and Ill link you up after checking if the link exchange has been done.

Note: Bebots, this will be a new blogroll for me, so if you want to get linked, just leave me a comment. It’s perfectly OK to get linked twice, more the better, since it will help in page rank updates. I *highly* encourage everyone to do this, most especially if you do paid blogging.

And let me know OK? :)

I Have Given Up Blogging?

..because I have discovered *gasp* good TV. Honestly! I have not been watching TV for years, well I watch PlayHouse Disney ALL the time but more so because of the kids. BUT, Edil’s gift to me last Sunday (our wedding anniversary) was Season 1 of Heroes - ok, I know, Im behind! But Im slowly catching up! I finished watching Season 1 last night (ACK! Talk about addicted no?) :) and Edil is still converting the .avi formats of Season 2 episodes to DVD formats so I can probably watch it in a day or so. I love the show! At least Im not such a loser anymore, LOL. I can relate to TV shows, well, TV show, hahaha :)
Recommend more! Edil and I are on a torrent spree! :) **This has become bonding time for me as well, instead of me slaving away after coming home from work in front of the computer (again), we talk while watching DVD episodes.

ETA: Lisa corrected me and said Heroes is still on Season 1 :) I just watched the first 14 episodes last night. WOW, September cant come soon enough!! :)

I?m Baaaaaaack c?,)

Yes, after almost a week, I think Im “up” to blogging already :).

Before I do my usual ultimate blogging posts, LOL, I just would like to say super duper mega uber thank you to Dzoi, who fixed my CSS codes and really worked the blog! It’s 90% finished! I just need to customize the sidebars with links and little something somethings :).

It’s a Tuesday on my part of the world and I just got back to work, I have a LOT to tell and make kwento but I need to get settled in work first and then I can blog….how does 10 posts for you to catch up sound?! LOL.

Later!!

Boyles

If ever you look north carolina furniture, chances are resident there refer you to one store alone: Boyles. They have been supplying world-class furniture all over America since 1942 but they are best know for their name brand furniture. I just looked at their web site and their furniture just spells classy and elegant to me. I really like their style!

Web Revamp Update

Ugh! Im this.close to throwing up!!! If anyone knows how to pad my sidebars and tell me how to differentiate link color CSS codes, Id owe you for life and if I can afford, pay you! LOL. I want my two sidebars to have a distinct color and have the text not go all the way to the border…and notice there is space on top between the post and the header? Id like to put my Menu Pages *up* there. How do I do that?!

I need to sleep, it’s our second year wedding anniversary!

EDIT:
You probably guessed right - Im still trying to fix it, LOL Dzoi is helping me, pero di ko pa rin sya ma-gets, hahaha! Di ako makablog na di maayos ang blog ko, kakainis!!!

I have a confession to make - even at 26, Id like to shop for notebooks and pens. I cant get enough of them! I shop endlessly looking for the perfect notebook for my finance planner, my journal, my planner. Then I look for pens that write really nice. If I discover a brand that writes well and suits me, I buy three of them at the same time, every time. I need to have them at three different places, one of which needs to be constantly in my bag, because if I do not have that pen, I cant write at all - well, I dont even want to write. My college friends have joked that they should just give me engraved pens for presents and it would still make me one happy woman :).

RAM Upgrade.

We have been targeting for the longest time to upgrade our desktop’s memory or RAM. We currently have 1GB worth of memory, but we always have a lot of applications open - Torrent, Firefox, Yahoo Messenger, Media Player then Adobe Photoshop - so you can guess it would still be slow. Edil has been wanting to upgrade the OS to Windows Vista too so we really need additional RAM. We have heard IBM memory is better than the others. I personally would like to have at least 2GB of RAM. Fortunately, our CPU’s memory can be upgraded to 4GB :). If that happens, navigating the web will be such a breeze!

WebSite Revamp

Forgive the house, Im trying to revamp my blog :) I hope I get to finish this within the day *I hope*.

Student Loan Consolidation

Most students acquire numerous student loans to get themselves through college. This is done while also doing part-time jobs. After graduation, what would have been a very nice salary to help them get by would be slashed to start paying for accumulated student loan debts. That’s where school loan consolidation comes in very handy. When a student avails of this loan while studying, he or she can really save up to 50% or more in monthly payments. With just one loan payment to take care, they can easily manage finances better. They can easily keep track of what to pay and when to pay every month.

Innovative Tutor

I believe I already have oriented you with the SCORE Learning Center’s programs. I cannot stop raving about them as I have proven how effective their system works! Their belief in how education affects and how it should have an effect on a child is outstanding! An
Innovative Tutor, that’s what teachers are called in their program, and I cannot agree any better!
