Yoga.

Because of my quest for a lifestyle change, I have explored options for me to be physically active. Being in front of the computer most of the day and being stationary really has affected my posture and over-all disposition. I feel like I have no energy all the time. Enter yoga. Yoga will be definitely be good for my bad back and let me stretch my joints. Yoga mats are very easy to bring to work too. I found out that there is a yoga class being offered three buildings away from where I work, and they have a class two hours before my office time – perfect! I have scouted around for yoga equipment and it seems I only need a yoga mat! Im quite partial to this one – nature collection yoga mats.

Branson, Missouri.

I know a digital scrapper whose favorite vacation travel destination is Branson Missouri. She loves it so much that they go there twice a year and she has regular updates on her blog. A local Branson newspaper and travel guide has picked her articles up and now she regularly writes reviews on Branson Missouri’s hottest vacation spots. She particularly loves the Branson shows that feature the Haygoods. I love reading her blog because she has a knack of vividly descrbing the vacation and yet keeps the criticisms intact for you to be conscious of when going there for your own vacation to Branson Missouri.

I love these kinds of memes. It makes me divulge more without having to worry about how to write it :) Thanks Ann!

Four jobs I have had:
1. ACA Video employee (when I was in college, I lasted two months).
2. eRep than QA Analyst for PS (Ive been working here since 2003, when I was still studying nursing – grabe five years na pala ako next year, time flies, and Im still here, nowhere near being a nurse, how sad :( )

*Wala na akong ibang jobs kungdi naging nanay nung 2000 and naging wife nung 2005 (legal wife nung 2004, hehehe).

Four movies I have watched over and over:
1. My Best Friends Wedding

“I had the strangest dream. I dreamt that some psychopath was trying to break the two of you up. Luckily, I woke up and I see that the world is just as it should be. For my best friend has won the best woman. I didn’t buy you a gift. But this is on loan until you two find your song… .”

2. Fools Rush In.

“You are everything I never knew I always wanted.”

3. Never Been Kissed.

“That thing. That moment when you kiss someone and everything around you becomes hazy and the only thing in focus is you and this person. And you realize that that person is the only person you’re supposed to kiss for the rest of your life. And for one moment you get this amazing gift, and you wanna laugh, and you wanna cry… ’cause you feel so lucky that you found it and so scared that it’ll go away all at the same time. “

“You have to say that because you’re my teacher…Actually, I shouldn’t say that because I’m your teacher.”

“It took me forever to get here…I know what you mean.”

4. Something’s Gotta Give.

I have watched these shows at least 10 times already. Im not kidding. Im the type of person who would rather watch a movie over and over again and have a song on repeat if I like it.

Nurse Pens

I was so surprised to receive a box from the courier last Saturday. My parents delivered a box ahead of time from the US to make sure they deliver all the goods in time. Do you know what was one of the goodies in the box! Pens! Yes! The ones that nurses use – multi-colored inks in one pens. A friend got me five ballpens in the style saying it was one my wishes when I had my birthday – last February. I was laughing hilariously when I saw the pens. I was thinking, can I not get the pens here? Of course, I can, but deep inside, I was really touched that a friend actually took notice of my wish list and delivered 3 of my wishes! She is a keeper!

My Dad the Fisherman

My dad is a frustrated fisherman. He loves to fish. He would often go out fishing with his friends, but since the lakes abounding with fishes are quite few and so far, he doesnt get to do it often. He even has a complete fishing equipment – a fishing rod with reels, a fishing tackle, lures, and fishing accessories – knives and a fisherman’s hat! My dad can sit on a boat all day waiting for the big fish, as what he says.

We are a religious family – even if it sometimes is not apparent with my posts. My parents were raised in a Catholic family, went to Catholic schools and read catholic books. My mom even went to mass everyday when she was young. I would like to raise my children that way – growing up with a great love for God. I have bought catholic books depicting Jesus as a young child and some catholic books about Mother Mary. I love Mother Mary, praying the rosary has been my greatest comfort in times of stress and sadness.

…those were the highlights of my weekend.

First off, Im totally enjoying having weekends off, and I mean Saturdays and Sundays off. I got home early Friday night and I got to play with Martha and Matthew first before making layouts (I had a productive digi weekend as well).

— and it took me FOUR HOURS to continue this post —

Im just too lazy on Mondays (and Im so busy racking my brains out for Martha’s party!).

Anyway, since Im lazy today but want to document stuff let’s do bullet points, shall we? :)

  • Saturday was so hot. And I mean HOT. So hot, in fact, that 1) We spent morning and afternoon in the pool, 2) I was so tired “swimming” in the pool I slept for three hours with Martha, 3) So hot that a fire broke near my neighborhood, that deserves a post on its own.
  • After swimming in the pool, a box arrived containing some of the stuff my parents decided to send sooner than their arrival (Glo’s shopping alone is already 30lbs!) and there I got: my 8×8 American Crafts Modern Albums – I should have ordered more page protectors, a Barbie doll for Martha and a My Little Pony toy – if Martha is anything like me, she will cut Barbie’s hair and draw on her some “clothes”, exactly what I did with mine (and my mom really wanted me to be girly she bought me almost all the kinds of Barbie dolls before – and all of them suffered the same fate – nope -some got bald though). So I locked them away until she reaches 2 years old. Thanks Ninang Mariel for the toys! She got 2 more dresses – one in pink and one in mint green. I got the tripod for the Rebel.

  • Who send BALLPENS in a balikbayan box? WHO WHO WHO?!?!?! HAHAHAHAHA!!! Glo sent me ballpens – the kind nurses use :) Sobrang natawa ako ng malakas….pati ba naman ballpen?!?!
  • And glorious TIM TAMS, goodness, it took all my willpower to just eat TWO the whole weekend! Thank goodness for the sweet tooth of my sisters, it is all gone now. Thank you for keeping temptation out of me. Ooops, there were some Belgian truffles too, but I can say NO to that, thank you very much :D

  • Do you want to see pictures of me in a pool? DO YOU???

  • Death in the Family.

It is depressing to find out so many deaths in my friends’ family in the last couple of months. I have two friends who lost their fathers and a friend who lost her mom to cancer. Death insurance, no matter how grim, is becoming a more practical way for us lately. We certainly do not want to further burden the loved ones left when we die taking care of the funeral and hospital expenses. Death insurance will somehow cover that, we hope. Young as we are, we need to prepare for that stage eventually, emotionally, spiritually and financially.
