Should I go Boxing?

I just finished my annual physical, medical and dental examinations last week. It was actually pretty good, stable BP, no cysts, good blood counts. Im just borderline overweight – obese already with two impacted wisdom teeth that needs to be extracted as soon as possible. My doctor suggests I go on a diet – strict diet – after knowing my family’s history of diabetes (Lola has it, Dad has it, I might likely have it.) and a good exercise regimen. Knowing my failed attempts in going to the gym regularly, he suggested that I try boxing. Boxing would also be a way for me to release pent up stress and angst (do I have that?!) and keep my bones strong. Boxing Equipment doesn’t cost that much – just a good set of boxing gloves and maybe a six-piece speed bag set. I am actually discussing changing my lifestyle choices with Edil. And he really zeroed in on my diet – it really isnt healthy anymore – too much sweets and Coke. He told me we can go try boxing together – not with each other, though. :) He also needs to build up muscle as he is getting really lanky without exercise. I hope I can really push through with a concrete plan. Im not getting any younger you know.

Any suggestions?

i’m no exercise buff but what about lifting some light weights while at home? metabolism shoots right up and fat will soon turn to muscle in time. not heavy weights or anything like that — 5 lbs (or even less) would do. and don’t give up your coke if you don’t want to — treat yourself instead to once a week. i don’t believe in diets (if you saw my size, you’d know bwhhahaha) but i have tried journaling the foods i eat. IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE. one lb lost this week and then another lb the next week ~ tally it all up in a 3 mo. period (combined with light lifting), there WILL be a difference. haay, but easier said than done! just don’t try to make too much of a drastic change in your lifestyle right away — you’ll find that you can follow through with something if you do it in baby steps :)

Inertia is a bad thing sometimes. The only way to start exercising is to actually really start and sign yup a membership or actually go to the gym. The hardest part in exercising is not the actual exercise but starting or getting to the gym. Good luck with this. Here’s to the future uber sexy momma.

It sounds like fun! I just started Pilates Aggie, when I dropped my kids off on their “skill builders class” I join the pilates class as well…try it baka magustuhan mo…

and about sa diet…I am a bit paranoid too when it comes to eating but I can’t help it, I still can’t stay away from junk foods & pastries w/c is a NO-NO but at least I cook everyday, healthy stuff (no red meat) and i guess it’s working kse ppl stl think I am thin but actually I gained a lot of weight…from size 0 to 3 now! Well ok na cguro tong size 3 kaysa 0 kase mukha daw akong kawawa noon, hahaha! I cook a lot of baked chicken, steamed veggies and stir fry kse it’s really healthy cooking…

good luck to you girl and I know you can do it! not only to look good but for our own good health too!!!
