Non-practicing RMT and RN

To the professional world, I am Mary Agatha S. Austriaco-Aviso, RMT, RN. I have two degrees, passed two board exams, have two professional licenses and work in call center. How ironic and anti-climactic. The most number of times I have donned a laboratory coat or nursing scrubs was around 5 times a month for a year at most. All that is going to change. I plan to “moonlight” in a dialysis center or train for half a day every week starting June. I am just finalizing my schedule around my kids and Edil. And maybe two to three months after, Im going to wearing nursing scrubs at least four times a week? I certainly hope so.

I am one of those people who work for the money. I am not ashamed to admit that. I have worked hard for four years and a half, put myself through school, a one year separation, a wonderful reconciliation, a dream wedding, a very huge pregnancy, 10 months of breastfeeding, and still working, hard. Many people have (Im sure) wondered where Edil was in all of these. Is he doing his share? Why does she need to work so hard? He, during those times, was, literally, the man of the house. I have not regretted having him at home for two years (on and off) bonding with Matthew. Matthew needed to establish a foundation with his Dad, albeit four years late.

I really really really pray that this is it, the break we have all been waiting and wishing for. Please keep your fingers crossed for me. (Your toes, as well!)

Taking Care of my Skin.

If there is one thing I really have let go ever since I became a mom, that is taking care of my skin. It is actually quite a blessing that I still have nice skin even if I dont apply any cream on it. However, sun exposure is going to be the culprit of fine lines and wrinkles and I better find some skinceuticals for my skin. My skin is very sensitive and prone to drying. I easily break out in rashes and the only that has suited me are baby products or very expensive stuff. I need to look for something within my budget!

Why Is It so Hard?

Martha’s Bday Invite

Originally uploaded by aggietha.

..for me to make cards and yet easy for me to make layouts? The finished layout card you see will be/is Martha’s invite. I kept changing the colors and rotating everything. I tried (unsuccessfully) to get a newer picture of her today but she was not cooperating. I would not have stopped if Edil had not “tried to help”. He kept suggesting fonts I would never use in any layout so I stopped. What do you think? My relatives loved it though. I guess if you are not a scrapper, you will appreciate the simplest things. They could not believe I was the one who made it. And that it was printed at home. It was just printed on a photo paper and we glued cardstock at the back with a map heading to the place and some guidelines.

This weekend was packed, scrap wise, money wise (haaaaay), and event wise. I hope I can come back tomorrow with a good update. Divisoria Mall has sucked my money and energy dry today.

So Ill end it here. I will scrap some more. Oh! I did scrap some fab pages, if I may say so myself, but I cannot show it to you until NSD. And nope, it is not posted on my Flickr yet! *snoopy people*

Cooking.

One of my goals this year to cook a very delicious meal for my family - not necessarily all the time. But I want to prepare a very special meal that I would get compliments for once for cooking nicely! I havent had any compliments on a nicely cooked meal! I have concluded that is simply because I lack cooking tools. So I have been looking for a cookware that not only sells cooking equipment but can educated me what that equipment is for.

Any suggestions?

Same Taste on Furniture

It is a good thing my husband and I have the same tastes on home furniture. We like the minimalist, homey type of furniture, a cross between minimalistic shabby and minimalistic modern. I love clean lines on furniture - bordering on simple even but I like having homey accents like an earthy rug or a rattan frame to accent the table. I dont want edgey furniture as we still have a toddler very prone to bumping! Im scared of accidents! Im really looking forward to owning our own home!

TGIF.

This has been such a lazy week. I have been unproductive at work, scrap-wise, at all aspects. Im looking forward to being productive next month, and I have a busy weekend ahead.

Let’s hope I get productive with blogging tonight. Wish me luck :)

Jimmy Buffet

Do you know Jimmy Buffet?

Well, Jimmy Buffet is a musician best known for his song “Margaritaville” . He is famous for his songs about paradise. most of his songs are about paradise and good places. He also calls himself a pirate and is in love with south-eastern coast of America. Or the Western coast. Many people are still looking for jimmy buffett tickets. People flock to Jimmy Buffet shows!

Blog Under Construction.

Forgive the change of blog skins. Im making this more user friendly for me and making me work less behind the scenes, so to speak. Ill work on this during the weekend.

Hey Bebots,
Let’s spruce up our blogs, eh? (Ang sakit na ng ulo ko, hehehe).

Topsail Island

Who does not want to live near the beach, where the sun is always shining and you are always close to nature? Real estate near the beachfront or along the shore are actually very hot property. A good example of which is Topsail Island Real Estate. Topsail Island is located about 24 miles north of Wilmington, NC. The island is actually small but is a family vacation hot spot. The setting in the island makes it the perfect place to really unwind and take a break. The Sand Dollar Real Estate will give you different options in finding your home with an assurance that you will be given a personalized assistance with a flair of Southern Hospitality.

Im actually saving up for a laptop now. After Matthew’s enrollment, I will save up for a good laptop so I can scrap and surf while watching the kids play in our room. I can even bring it to Amadeo when we go there - oh the possiblities are endless! I am also dreaming about laptop bags and someone recommended Rainebrooke - Stylish and fashionable laptop bags for women! I like the pink bag and most of all how it is so stylish and functional all at the same time.

Im definitely saving up for this one! Did you see the front pockets, I can have my cellphone, wallet, a few keys and a pen in there and Im good to go! I also love the fact that it does not look like a laptop bag!

Yoga.

Because of my quest for a lifestyle change, I have explored options for me to be physically active. Being in front of the computer most of the day and being stationary really has affected my posture and over-all disposition. I feel like I have no energy all the time. Enter yoga. Yoga will be definitely be good for my bad back and let me stretch my joints. Yoga mats are very easy to bring to work too. I found out that there is a yoga class being offered three buildings away from where I work, and they have a class two hours before my office time - perfect! I have scouted around for yoga equipment and it seems I only need a yoga mat! Im quite partial to this one - nature collection yoga mats.

Branson, Missouri.

I know a digital scrapper whose favorite vacation travel destination is Branson Missouri. She loves it so much that they go there twice a year and she has regular updates on her blog. A local Branson newspaper and travel guide has picked her articles up and now she regularly writes reviews on Branson Missouri’s hottest vacation spots. She particularly loves the Branson shows that feature the Haygoods. I love reading her blog because she has a knack of vividly descrbing the vacation and yet keeps the criticisms intact for you to be conscious of when going there for your own vacation to Branson Missouri.

Saving Dollars.

Since I am earning dollars with small businesses online, I have thought of investing my money in forex trading. The Forex market is a non-stop cash market where currencies of nations are traded, typically via brokers. Foreign currencies are constantly and simultaneously bought and sold across local and global markets and traders’ investments increase or decrease in value based upon currency movements. Foreign exchange market conditions can change at any time in response to real-time events. There is possible growth with this type of business, even if it is risky. With Global Futures Exchange & Trading Co., Inc., they can help me get started with as little as $250.

As always, there is risk of loss trading Futures, options and forex.

I love these kinds of memes. It makes me divulge more without having to worry about how to write it :) Thanks Ann!

Four jobs I have had:
1. ACA Video employee (when I was in college, I lasted two months).
2. eRep than QA Analyst for PS (Ive been working here since 2003, when I was still studying nursing - grabe five years na pala ako next year, time flies, and Im still here, nowhere near being a nurse, how sad :()

*Wala na akong ibang jobs kungdi naging nanay nung 2000 and naging wife nung 2005 (legal wife nung 2004, hehehe).

Four movies I have watched over and over:
1. My Best Friends Wedding

“I had the strangest dream. I dreamt that some psychopath was trying to break the two of you up. Luckily, I woke up and I see that the world is just as it should be. For my best friend has won the best woman. I didn’t buy you a gift. But this is on loan until you two find your song… .”

2. Fools Rush In.

“You are everything I never knew I always wanted.”

3. Never Been Kissed.

“That thing. That moment when you kiss someone and everything around you becomes hazy and the only thing in focus is you and this person. And you realize that that person is the only person you’re supposed to kiss for the rest of your life. And for one moment you get this amazing gift, and you wanna laugh, and you wanna cry… ’cause you feel so lucky that you found it and so scared that it’ll go away all at the same time. “

“You have to say that because you’re my teacher…Actually, I shouldn’t say that because I’m your teacher.”

“It took me forever to get here…I know what you mean.”

4. Something’s Gotta Give.

I have watched these shows at least 10 times already. Im not kidding. Im the type of person who would rather watch a movie over and over again and have a song on repeat if I like it.

Online Banking

I do all my banking online. I love the ease that it gives me - no going to the bank, filling up forms and standing in line. Bank Charges for online banking transactions are kept to a minimum and quite frankly, Id rather pay a small amount than for me to be inconvenienced. Right now, I have closed down my bank accounts that do not offer online banking as a feature or has a poor online banking service. I have been keeping one bank account for five years, since it has a very efficient online banking service, my ATM card can serve as a debit card, and they have a very efficient Customer Service Department. We are keeping our savings accounts but getting rid of our current accounts too.
