I admit I have never dreamed of becoming a nurse, I always wanted to become a doctor. But somehow, when I was studying to become one, it grew on me and I started to love it. I am now sure it is the perfect degree for me, so much so I do not ever want to stop on learning from it. I want to get a Master’s Degree soon. I have been looking for online degree courses lately and came across Liberty University that offers distance learning. That would be very helpful as I still need to work full time for my family and have kids under 10 who needs my time constantly. Im really impressed with how the education system has progressed! As long as you want to learn, there are always ways!

Found this photoblog: Letters to God.
And I laughed so hard at this one:
“Dear God,
I went to this wedding and they kissed right in church
Is that OK?
Neil”
Oh, the innocence of children. I long to have the simplicity and child like innocence again. Sometimes Im too jaded for my own good.

We have a game staple in the house - playing cards. It always needs to be new and crisp so we always want a new set every Christmas. When I was a kid, everytime we will be stuck at home doing nothing or even when on vacation, we would be playing cards, specifically poker. Playing poker has been more than a game to pass away time for us. Even if it technically a gambling game, it is more of a way for our family to bond really well. My Dad brought up this once - that we invest on poker home game packages because he wants us to learn how to play like the “real thing”. My Dad occassionally plays in Vegas everytime he goes there. There is a web site online called ExecutiveGamingMonthly.com that offers home game packages for beginners, amateur and serious or advanced players. The Poker Game Packages we saw include the boxed set games of: Let It Ride, Winning Let It Ride, 100 Lucky Crown Chips, Spinner Card Cover and Poker/Caribbean Stud. They also offer monthly game club kits.
We play poker using the is the draw poker. Players each receive five — as in five-card draw — or more cards, all of which are hidden. They can then replace one or more of these cards a certain number of times.

After months of very hard work and endless paper and audit trails, our company is finally SOX compliant! We have to be up to date with compliance management . We are also investing in stocks so our company is required to implement and ensure that what is disclosed to the public is accurate in every way. SOX is the most challenging legislation our company has faced, being in North America. And with it being a requirement, we have also upgraded and made steps to effectively keep and file and document record-keeping requirements for electronic documents, including information disclosed through the corporate web site.

My sister’s dream is to be able to study her master’s degree out of the country, specifically the United States. She had her chance last year when she went to California as a gift because she graduated from college with honors. She looked for a California student loan for non-US citizens as she wants to work at least part-time to be able to help in expenses. Student loan refinancing is great option when the time comes when she needs to pay off the loan she will be applying for. She will try to get a federal loan instead of a private loan as the latter assumes that your income increases with more education so you can pay at a higher rate.

After more than a month of waiting, I finally got it!
The Canon Rebel xTi
It arrived last Saturday but we just got it last Monday (03.26.07). So far, we already have around 300 shots taken, mostly by Edil. He was more excited than I am and has been fiddling with it every chance he gets. It’s a good thing though since I get to be in the pictures for once.
Is it worth it? Oooooh yes, definitely :). Moving shots of Martha have never been clearer. I need more tutorials though how to shoot manually.
Thanks again, Glo! Who would have though having a pink and brown wedding would lead us to have this kind of friendship?

Do you want to know a confession? I snore sometimes during sleep. It was terribly embarrassing to have my husband tell it to me, but my dad’s side of the family has short and horrible sinuses hence the rhinitis and sinusitis problems.
My dad snores too, loudly and a lot. He has been that way ever since I can remember because he smoked since he was 16 until 2 years ago, has emphysema, COPD, right sided congestive heart failure and obstructive sleep apnea. He has been apneic about ten years ago and what is actually scary is that when you suffer from it, you literally stop breathing for seconds, even minutes! You can die in your sleep. The condition is most common in men, individuals who are overweight, or snorers, and the older you are, the greater your chances of becoming affected by sleep apnea.
Symptoms can often go unnoticed for a long time because they are not specific during the day, and at night, the sleeper may not even realize that he or she is waking up to resume breathing.
Conventional therapy is the use of a device providing Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), which is applied through a mask. This use of continuous pressure, when titrated properly, eliminates obstructive breathing events, including snoring. CPAP machines which basically prevent snorers (more precise: Obstructive Sleep Apnea sufferers) from dying or getting brain damage due to a lack of oxygen.

Can you guess how much all of the shoes cost? (Read on to the bottom of the entry to find out!)
I went shoe shopping which started last Friday and ended Sunday night! I actually hired a personal shopper, you know, I can afford one.
And you should know Im all joking on the paragraph above.
What happened was I finally had the greatest but super late idea of having Glo, my super duper nice friend, to shop for clothes and shoes for me in the US with the earnings I got from blogging. I honestly have never thought of it until I decided it’s time to change the way I pathetically dress and have clothes for work I’ve worn everyday five times a week, week after week.
Believe me though, it is not for lack of trying. Read more… »

There is a finance blog I stumbled upon that features payday loan news, payday loans, debt relief, and everyday personal finance tips.
I especially like their latest article, “How to: Choose the Right Payday Loan”. It is most suited for me as a working mom who needs to make ends meet most of the time. Every now and then, a few days before pay day, we always almost seem to run out of cash. From their blog, “If there is a reliable way of getting some fast cash, then it is a payday loan. Whenever there is a special occasion or you get an unprecedented high bill, you can get a payday loan to save yourself from further trouble.” But the key here is to choose the right payday loan provider for me, I must always consider the disadvantages along with the advantages. I must always know first the fees that must be paid while applying for a loan.
The most important point to remember here is the longer you keep the money, the more fees you will have to pay.
I always need to be mindful of the fees and interests so that I will know if Im losing more money in the end.

It used to be web developers needed to know Dreamweaver or FrontPage, HTML, and maybe some PHP or ASP. Now it’s all about AJAX, Ruby, and providing a great user experience. That’s where web development is heading.
From wikipedia, “Web development is a broad term that incorporates all areas of developing a web site for the World Wide Web. This can include e-commerce business development, web design, web content development, client-side/server-side coding, and web server configuration. However, among web professionals, “web development” usually refers only to the non-design aspects of building Web sites, e.g. writing markup and coding. Web development can range from developing the simplest static single page of plain text to the most complex web-based internet applications, electronic businesses, or social network services.
For larger businesses and organizations, web development teams can consist of hundreds of people. Smaller organizations may only require a single permanent or contracting webmaster, or secondary assignment to related job positions such as a graphic designer and/or Information systems technician. Web development may be a collaborative effort between departments rather than the domain of a designated department.”
Web development has been one of the fastest growing industries in the US since the mid-1990s. The industry is expected to grow over 20% by 2010. The growth of this industry is being pushed by large businesses wishing to sell products and services to their customers and to automate business workflow, as well as the growth of many small web design and development companies.
As far as web development tools and platforms are concerned, there are many systems available to the public free of charge to aid in development. A popular example is the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), which is usually distributed free of charge. Another contributing factor has been the rise of easy to use WYSIWYG web development software, most prominently Microsoft FrontPage or Macromedia Dreamweaver. Using such software, virtually anyone can develop a Web page in a matter of minutes. Knowledge of HyperText Markup Language (HTML), or other programming languages is not required.
The next generation of web development tools uses the strong growth in LAMP and Microsoft .NET technologies to provide the Web as a way to run applications online. Web developers now help to deliver applications as Web services which were traditionally only available as applications on a desk based computer.
No matter where web development is headed, web developers trust Dream.In.Code (http://www.DreamInCode.net) for the information needed to stay competitive. From building sites, site reviews, programming help, to marketing and monetization. Dream.In.Code is the leading community for web developers in the Web 2.0 world.

I want you to pause for a second and look at this video
Isnt it scary to know that 99% of the locks used today are not able to to stop an 11 year old girl with a $5 Bump Key available over the internet? Almost any lock can be opened in less than a minute by a person with no lock picking skills at all. Bump keys are easy to make and cheap to buy. Worst of all the news is out. This issue has been seen on CNN and all major news programs. Having this out in the open can make us aware how robbers have it easy to enter almost any home. We need to be cautious and diligent in protecting our safety.
The only solution is to swap your old lock for a Bump Proof Lock. These types of locks can be found in BrickHouseSecurity.com. They are the leader in Biometric locks and other Bump Key Proof Locks.
Changing a door knob lock or dead bolt can be done in less than 20 minutes and all you need is a screw driver.
Take this for example.
This is one of the products in their site - the Fingerprint Door Lock Left hand Polish-Brass lock. This is Bump Key Proof. You dont need any key with this type of lock! This fingerprint door lock is as easy to install as a regular lock and simple to operate. It automatically locks and has fingerprint verification and door lock combined in single unit for easy installation. Is it easy to enroll fingerprints? Yes! Fingerprints can be enrolled/erased on the lock directly with lock on door. This type of lock has a biometric reader that scans a person’s physical characteristic and turns it into a numerical algorithm which is then entered into a database.
I know these types of locks have been integrated with most of the offices already. It is now time to start incorporating these into homes. We should put utmost importance in the security and safety of our family.
