Dream Cars.

Let’s talk about cars shall we? Me and Edil were just talking about what car we would buy once we get the money. Id want the 4-door CRV or any SUV so that we can get a family car. Edil wants one too, but if he had the choice, he would want a Mazda 3 but in his dreams, he’d be driving a Hummer — yeah, in his dreams! LOL, Of course, we need to get Car Insurance for that. Especially since he will be driving in the streets of Manila where reckless drivers abound — wait, he is one too! LOL

BOO.

There are so many things that need to be done and the internet connection at home SUCKS! Fluctuating like mad, daig pa nya babae sa contractions! ARGH!

Im going out with Edil to buy stuff for Glo and then Im going to buy a pizza for us tonight. Edil wanted me to cook Saturday - he will be bringing friends over for a drink.

And Martha is clapping her hands to WOW-WOW-WEE.
Great.

I had a low moment last week. I got sick and tired of pumping. And I really wanted to quit. I got so busy at the office, at home, with the digital community, that I felt taking time to pump was eating away my time. Good thing I realized I was wrong - and that I will not waste the almost 9 months Ive been giving breastmilk to Martha to have her go with formula. My goal is to pump until she is a year old..which, when you think about it, is already almost 4 months away from now! Im assuming Martha will wean early. She really prefers eating solds already and has been drinking my milk when she is sleepy. Since I only have one pump, an Avent Isis manual pump, I thought of buying another one to lessen my time, and take advantage of my let downs. Breast Pump Reviews have given best feedback about Avent’s breastpump so I want another one. Im just thinking if getting another one would be worth it - if I will only pump for 4 months, if I can go exclusive breastfeeding again (since Martha supplements with 2 bottles of formula now), and if ever Id get one, Id get it abroad - Avent is ridiculously priced here in the Phils. Maybe I can buy pumps which are just slightly used? I need to discuss it first with Edil.

Im just so proud because the wives’ support group I currently belong to has now na official member/teacher of La Leche League. She has been an inspiration to me to really aim to breastfeed Martha when I was just pregnant with her.

It?s Pay Day!

And here is what I need to do:

1. Pay bills, as always.

2. Print Valentine Cards, burn DVDs, ship everything to Jun for Glo :D
3. Grocery. I will cook for Edil tonight! Wish me luck! LOL. - cancelled, scheduled this Saturday.
4. Take pictures of the family. We havent had a family picture for this month.

5. Finish my round up.

6. Organize scrap goodies.

7. SCRAP!

What is up with nose jobs nowadays? I just read a physical care center open up in a mall! You can shop after doing plastic surgery now?! LOL. Like having rhinoplasty Toronto!

rhinoplasty Toronto

Ever since I discovered soap opera spoilers, I have been hooked finding and reading about them - this time, it’s General Hospital Spoilers. I love watching that show since Im a frustrated doctor, they are not as exciting as ER but the drama, which I crave for, LOL, are good. I love soaps!

Preparing for First Grade.

Matthew’s report card for the Third Quarter arrived yesterday and he got excellent grades on Christian Living, Reading and Phonics and Mathematics! I was astounded! I have never pressured him to study or even hovered over him to study - truth be told, we sometimes do not even study at all. SO we are thinking where to enroll him for first grade next schoolyear. Schools in our area with good standards of education are limited to three, and Im quite partial to the school where he is in right now since it is a Catholic school. So I guess Im sticking with it - for now.

I always always want to figure out how to find out who the UNKNOWN mobile phone number who called me is. It seems to me I am not alone, there are a good number, okay thousands, of people who search for Reverse Cell Phone Lookup daily! I am glad I was able to get a link for one that will look up mobile phone providers with the best result and amazing accuracy!

Edil is 28 :)

Today…or yesterday, if we will follow what is written in his birth certificate.

Some Edil trivia:

Edil has always celebrated his birthday on January 29th. Up until he went to college and he needed to supply the registrar with a birth certificate. Lo and behold, it said his birth date was January 28.

Off to consult with Ma. His Ma gave birth to 7 of her 8 children at home with the help of a kumadrona (or a midwife). Ma claims that is incorrect since she knew when Edil was born.

In fairness, the birth record shows he was born early morning - which her Ma claims to be true.

So now, we celebrate the true birthday on the 29th.

But we tell legal people it is on the 28th. We tell the kids their Dad’s day is on the 29th but when the school asks them say the 28th. Confusing?

I just say it will always be nice since he gets two birthdays :)
Leave a note to greet him for me here. :)
Thanks!

It is now WINTER CHA at Anaheim, CA and two of my most favorite digital designers have new paper product lines out! I got this newsletter from Scrapbook.com and I fell in love with the new Fancy Pants’ line, made by, of course, Michelle Coleman and Nancie Rowie Janitz.

If only I can afford to buy them!!!! In time, I will. In time :) For now, Ill just get my high buying their awesome digi-stuff at around 6-8USD a kit :D And I can have a mini album from them after ;). My wishlist at ScrapArtist is growing by the minute. I need to prepare for the upcoming Muse newsletter so I can get the coupon :). I’ve been very very good with digi-purchases lately, Im so proud of myself! I just need to print at least 15 layouts at the photo lab and I’m done with my scrapping goals this January!

Lake Tahoe.

I have always wanted to go to Lake Tahoe. I have only read about it in books and seen features of its gorgeous scenery in TV so it is one of my target vacation spots when we do get a chance to visit the States again. I even went as far as look for lake tahoe vacation rentals! I got a listing for the most comprehensive vacation rentals by owner listings and it would be such a plus for us since Edil doesnt really want to get booked in hotels. What I like about going there is that I can have the best of both worlds - during the ski season tourists enjoy ski areas such as Alpine Meadows, Diamond Peak and Squaw Valley. And outdoor sports are popular at South Lake Tahoe - they are close to hiking, mountain biking, marinas and boating - which would suit my hyperactive boys - Matthew and Edil.

I have made a decision not to be such a Grinch come Valentine’s Day - isnt it obvious I even cant stop thinking about it?! LOL. I was viewing my wedding pictures online and I fell in love with my flowers again - so pretty and dainty. So, dear husband, if ever you are reading this (I’m sure you read every now and then, this blog is bookmarked in our browser! LOL), if ever you are getting me (make sure you get me!) valentines day flowers, make sure you get me pink and white roses with carnations in between them. Buy them in a unique arrangement ok?

And if ever you are not from our country, you might want to check Dot Flowers. Dot Flowers offers a diverse selection of flower bouquets, gift baskets, gourmet food, and more for those folks seeking a little buzz from their online gift giving experience. It is literally buzzing with fabulous flower gift ideas and gorgeous gourmet gift baskets perfect for anyone on your list.

SEO Marketing.

The internet is booming nowadays and businesses have boomed since advertising online. Search Engine Marketing has been steadily increasing its popularity and businessmen have already realized how powerful advertising to the web is. The proliferation of any new marketing practice always brings with it an onslaught of schemes, scams, and swindles. Search engine marketing (SEM) is no exception. Those looking to start online marketing campaigns, but have not studied the marketplace, are often at risk. Close to 95% of online marketing contractors fall into four categories: Pirates, Graphic Artists, Branding Agencies, and Technogeeks. There are proven opportunities in SEM, but to start, you must understand the opportunities instead of becoming one.

And it comes soo perfect *insert sarcastic tone* for it come just a day before payday. So I am strapped for cash (as usual) - I have cash in hand but I need to stretch it until Wednesday when payday comes since I do not know when we would need some emergency money in the house (Im calculating we will run out of LPG soon - we run out every 3-4 weeks).

Im still determined to cook for him though. And I told I will just cook for him on the 31st :) LOL. While we were at SM yesterday and Edil lined up to get us a cab to meet our relatives for dinner (at the Block), me and the kids decided to stroll around (with Martha’s stroller, LOL) the department store.

So I directed them to the men’s clothing section and told Matthew, “Tingin tyo ng present ke Daddy kasi birthday na nya. What would we buy? Bili tyo ng T-shirt kasi wala ng shirt si Daddy na bago.”

Matthew gets hysterical and yells, “MOMMY! Ano ka ba?!?! Ayaw nya yun! Gusto nya Pokemon! Sabi nya sa akin! Totoo! Ayaw nya yan!”

Mehn, Pokemon addicts in the house!!

You want proof?

(If you want to know why it’s ELIAS, it is because our house is in ELIAS ST, LOL, it should have been AVISO Cup, ELIAS Championships, but since Matthew was playing, pangit daw tingnan  - naks, may delicadeza pa silang nalalaman no?! LOL)
Yep, Edil created this and booted my nice family LO from our computer desktop. My kid cousins are hanging out in the house so much since they hit the Pokemon craze…so much that my Lola has branded Edil and the house, Daddy Day Care LOL. He runs a “tournament” between the kids (around 5 boys) and whoever wins, gets a pack of cards he bought. Dang, that man has child-like ways, which is actually good, you know. He has a way with kids…he just needs to tame his temper.

So me and my little princess are stuck in the tower, este bedroom, kasi the living room is used for “games”. So we turn on the aircon and play dress up and take pictures and I each her how to dance. So far, she is doing the head bob really well and she squats up and down with grace (like a duck, LOL), so maybe in time for her birthday she will know how to stomp her feet :). That girl is going to be hands full. She is LOUD!

Do you want to know the song she dances to?
Dance, Baduday dance.

Dance, Baduday dance with me.  (to the tune of Thumbelina!)

(What Im actually updating personal stuff?! No way! :P)
Hey, I know Im a posting whore, but you can still comment you know :)

Be good for the kids.

A reflection on this day’s post. It saddens me that abuse has become such a normal occurrence in every household - from the slightest emotional and verbal abuse to physical and psychological abuse..it is all overwhelming. You can see the ripple effect on it in the society today with kids and adolescents being hooked in gangs and drugs. Nowadays, teen drug abuse has taken the priority in many a government’s and non-profit organizations to control and prevent.

There are many rehabilitation centers catering to drug abuse but having Echo Malibu specifically cater to the drug addiction of teens is noteworthy. They are guided by this principles:

  • EMPOWERMENT:Echo Malibu teen treatment center believes that effective treatment is rooted in the Empowerment of those we serve.
  • CHOICES:ECHO MALIBU youth treatment center believes that effective treatment is in large part about learning how to make healthy Choices.
  • HOPE:ECHO MALIBU believes that it is our responsibility to instill Hope.
  • OPPORTUNITIES:ECHO MALIBU adolescent drug treatment center believes that all crises are opportunities for growth and change.

Their treatment programs encompass Emotional, Physical, Social, Spiritual, Family and
Educational Services. They also coordinate with the family personally regarding the teen’s follow up treatments.

Last Night.

I gorged on food again.

I discovered the Block at SM North Edsa. Ate baby back ribs, the ultimate seafood fest, oysters again, onion rings and shrimp, and mud pie…oooohh, the mud pie was heavenly!! I also got the dress and shoes my Mom sent from the US for Martha — and it was in pink and brown! :P Cant wait to get pictures of her! And I discovered a nice picture studio called Pic-A-Boo which is cheaper compared to Picture Company. I need to schedule the kids there soon!

More stories later…our company has a meeting and Im the only one left on the floor! LOL
