Archives for April, 2006

..Unfortunately, Martha has not arrived yet. And yes, we have a name - Martha (obviously, haha!), no second name yet. It will start with a “B”, and Edil commanded he be in charge of it. (I woke up one morning and told him, “The baby’s name will be Martha - if you want to think of another name, think of the second name, Martha is non-negotiable already”. End of story :P) I’m currently on my 38th week already (it’s supposed to be 37wks, but my latest sonogram shows I’m ahead by one week, so my EDD was moved to April 29). Anyhow, we are all READY and WAITING — Edil is suddenly obeying all my whims and requests (yes, even if it is involving buying food for me, LOL), I’m tired, cranky and nesting (I CANT SLEEP AT ALL!!), and my darling Matthew is planning a big party for his little sister, LOL. My baby’s going to be the next event planner, just wait, hahaha. He has a list, complete with drawings, and as OC as I can be, I cant see any flaw with his list — it even has a program complete with curtain raising, and the speeches! Hahaha! (as if we can afford the party he wants). And, read this: He has a banner called, “WELCOME BABY SISTER!” in his list, because we didnt have a name yet that time. As part of our honesty, we told him we dont have any money :P. So he has been cleaning the house, washing the dishes and doing random things to earn money!! Sweet kiddo, aint he? :) He doesnt throw a fit when he doesnt get a mango shake during our daily trip to the mall (I walk in the mall — it’s the only place I can stand that is cold enough NOT to let me sweat :P).

So what do I do while I wait? I scrap :P

This is a very versatile kit. Check out the other LO I made

I’ve been scrapping Matthew’s little antics as well, Im currently working on his birth story. Hopefully, I get to finish it by tonight :)

Using Ange Dawn’s TWO Paper Pack.

LO65 Good Ole' Spaghetti copy
Using Andrea Burns and Mari K.’s Homecooking Kit.

LO69 Settling This Time copy
Using Gina Miller’s Lil Cowpoke from Andy’s Things Collection I.

Speaking of my creative teams, Gina Miller has a HUGE sale this coming weekend for Andy’s Things — 30% OFF!!

This is a MUST have for mothers of boys AND girls — I have used three of the four kits I was given the chance to work with already, and the pictures I scrapped with are the ones I was looking for the pefect theme kit to work with :)

And have you checked Andrea Burns’ latest kit? I am in complete awe with this girl — her designs keep getting better and better and she makes sure that every kit can scrap both the men and women in our lives :) I cant wait to work with this kit!!! Check out her store in TDC! She has 4 kits for this collection and I cant wait to see all them in action!

The recent team I’m honored to be on has a website! Check out Ange Dawn Designs!! And if you browse around, you might see my picture! Hahaha. Because this is my blog, I’ll just link it so you can see :P I’ve worked with two kits so far and Ange’s papers are so classic I cant help but want to scrap Matthew’s pictures with it. So far, I’m scrapping our little conversations and with Ange’s papers, I know I’ve got a winner :)

LO63 My Boy
Using her latest paper pack, “Ten”

As usual, you can click on the thumbnails so you can larger versions of the layouts and the full credits (and journalling).

For the people at the office who check my blog, I’m doing great! Big nose, big tummy, longganisa feet, how lucky can I get?! LOL :) Drop me a line, Im dying for some tsismis :P
And with this, I hope the next update from me is the news of the coming of Martha already. Pray for me ok? Thanks!

Have a blessed Lent.

I am off to Amadeo, Cavite to “retreat” and spend the Lenten season and celebrate Easter in Tagaytay. Matthew has been spending time with my in-laws close to two weeks already and I’m missing my little brat. Hopefully, we can go to the zoo or the grove and eat bulalo come Sunday.

We have finally cleaned and readied the room for baby G. Aircon is working — thank God! I cannot stand the heat these days, we have forked out close to five digits in baby things (waaaah!), and I think Im getting officially tired from seeing pink — LOL. I snatched in some little yellow outfits but most of her stuff would be pink. I got her a “Daddy’s little princess” onesie which would be perfect for a photo-op.

Yep! Latest sonogram shows I’m 37wks 4 days already, (one week advanced than my original EDD), the head is in position, but my cervix is still closed. Hopefully next week — what do you think? I think anydate between the 18th to 21st would be great. I promised Matthew I would buy him his art supplies, some swimming stuff, and sign him up for basketball class next week so labor would have to wait, LOL (oh pretty please?) I plan to spend some quality time with my firstborn before the little one arrives. Oh, he also would like to have a fish like Stanley (in Playhouse Disney), so I need to get him that one too. At least he was not asking for a dog or a cat.

Having Matthew out of our hair gave me time to connect with Edil though. And it was a great time. Having children eliminated the possibility of spontaneous heart to heart talk, esp. if your kid co-sleeps with you. It’s all good.

In other news, I have another blinkie to show off in my siggy :) I have been accepted to be part of Ange Dawn’s Creative Team! Check out her designs here.

Here are my 2LOs using Gina Miller’s Andrew’s Things (Collection I).
(You can always click on the picture to make it larger — and if you do, leave a comment :P)

LO55 Bugga Bugga LO59 Matthew's First Swim

I’m still working on her newest paper pack — Garden Treasures, and you are going to love her glitter border collection!!! Check out her store here!

Since Matthew was away, I think inspiration had hit me and I decided to do a LOT of pages about me and Edil ~ and me alone :) The AAM pages have to wait, as Im still deciding the little elements I want to add.

LO58 Seasons of Love LO56 Good Together

And, I didnt know what came over me, but I joined a contest - So You Want to be a SugarBabe? Sweet Shoppe Designs has always awed me with their designer’s creations and the gorgeous LOs of their CT members so I decided to give it a try. Whaddayaknow, we are over 50 contestants! And only one will be chosen! It would be a long shot for me, but the first two assignments were so much fun :) And they were able to let me do a LO I wanted to do for the longest time….my 60th LO, and my best yet — exceeding the Anticipation LO (for me). You can check out my crazy answers to the Qs in Getting to Know You Better here, and here is my take on their Sugarbabe Prompt: Pass it On.

LO60 Keeper of Memories

There are so many things I want to give to my children long after I’m gone, so many things I’m afraid they would simply forget about. So what I am determined to give, now, more than ever, is the gift of our memories. There are words of wisdom I want to instill in them, events I want them to remember, moments that I want to be cherished — and though I may tell it to them again and again, when things change and I get old, my own memory might falter and I will fail to give them the legacy and heritage my wonderful parents have given me. Every moment has a story to tell, and what I want my children to remember and understand is that there are reasons behind every life-changing moment, stories untold and unseen behind every picture, that I am certain would somehow affect them and help them understand life long after we, their parents, are gone. Every moment or story I have captured, every emotion I have written down, are frozen forever in time, and these are my long lasting gifts to my children — gifts which are priceless, gifts which are abound with love. There are so many things I want to give to my children long after I’m gone, and though I have just started collecting little fragments of our memories together, those little fragments are abound with love. It is all about moments, love captured in time.

News, News, and News

As if I just got married a month ago….

Our wedding video from Threelogy is ready for pick up already! Yay! And true to their word, it was finished before Baby G. arrived, LOL. I can’t wait to see it! Yet, I also do NOT want to see it, gets? I want to see it alone, as I’m sure I will cringe in embarrassment with how much I/we cried, LOL.

And! Mimi and Karl has finally opened their first ever office. Perfect for lounging around, dont you think? (Perfect for tambayan kamo! Hahaha!). And dont you see my double chin there somewhere?

Lemme help..(Mimi, pahiram ng picture ha!)

We were on the middle spot on the first row, here is the picture:

Haaaaaaaaayyyy, I don’t know if it’s all just hormones, but the littlest things are making me cry nowadays. Looking at our wedding gallery, I cried. Nyarks, ang O-A no? LOL. So, it was no wonder why I was in tears looking at our pictures finding my most favorite shot for their upcoming website revamp. Boo, ang arte ko..hahaha (Nasa office pa ako nyan ha!)

Anyway, the wedding pictures were hard….very hard. I chose the crying parts, simply because they were really able to capture the essence and the emotion of the whole wedding, and yet, for some odd reason, made me look pretty still, hehehe. (VAIN!)

There were some wowies asking for our album pictures, and previews of the album, but I haven’t even taken a shot of it yet, LOL, sorry :)
Here is our cover though:

Our album is very unconventional — mostly just pictures of us, and our family. No guests, nor principal sponsors. It was like shots that when grouped together, present a story in itself. My Mom liked it, so I guess it was awesome (knowing my MOM!) LOL.

For our prenups, it was pretty easy, it was a toss up between the Daisy Shot and the Lovers in Paris shot (as coined by Karl). Lovers in Paris won. Big time. Poignant kasi yan kasi we were having one of our moments :)
Look:

And I can only summarize two things:
1. It’s the little stories behind photos that hold true meaning and
2. Being able to marry the man of her dreams with the wedding she wants is a WOMAN’s RIGHT. Let me tell you, my wedding was one of the best moments of my life….

So in line with being mushy, emotional and sentimental, I scrapped a picture of us the day after the wedding — in pink and brown of course, and I like it, actually. I thought it was a little bit of balance at first, or lacking something, but decided to just let it be.

LO52 E&A

And if you still need more mush, visit this. Grabe, THAT is TRUE LOVE, people! (Got that link from Dino Lara’s blog).

I think my gallery has received a few hundred visits today.

Why you ask?

Because I was chosen to be the Guest Creative Team Member of the month by THE Gina Miller!! I was literally screaming and gushing when I received her e-mail, as I have been drooling over her designs for quite awhile. I actually she’s my sorta lucky charm as I have won two contests using her kits :) (BYOBB and Vivid Garden)> I can’t wait to get started. She is out to release BOY kits during the weekend (their time), and how lucky I can get to scrap with her kits using my brat’s pictures, huh? *BIG GRIN*

2 days til I hit the 35 week mark….

I was at my OB’s clinic last Tuesday as I was having cramps (similar to diarrhea, eeeww), the past week and my back was killing me already. Turns out I maybe having premature contractions already so she advised me to rest. Good thing my cervix is still closed. I need to stick it out until I hit week 37 for the baby to prefectly safe….so that’s 2 more weeks! I honestly think Im not going to be reaching May with the baby still inside…Im a walking penguin, and as my OB said, the size of the baby is term already, meaning, she is going to be exactly like Mommy — BIG! LOL.

I’m starting my maternity leave on April 10!

My sister is throwing me a baby shower tomorrow so we will see if my baby stuff will be completed. If not, Monday is general cleaning day for our room and Tuesday is shopping day — wala na akong pera!!! Waaaaahhhh!!!!

AND WE STILL DO NOT HAVE A NAME PEOPLE!!! Matthew wants Emily Elizabeth….whaddayathink???? :) But I think we will call her Alizabelle in front of the Brat as he calls her, ALIZABELLE, all the time :)
Speaking of the brat, we were looking for summer classes to enroll him in, and we narrowed it to three: Basketball, Swimming or Karate. The Brat chose Karate. Edil wants basketball. I chose swimming. Guess who won? LOL.
